In a world against carbs, this place is worth the fight! Let me be clear, I'm straight up a carb lover. I once tried to be Whole 30...silly me! So when my mom read an article in the newspaper about Ceres, I kept plotting when I could get there! I started following Ceres on Instagram and dreaming of my pasta lunch to come! Today that dream of getting downtown and having fresh pasta with sauce came true! This place is definitely a fantastic addition to downtown Tucson! My husband and I enjoyed two different types of pasta with different sauces. We selected our sauces first... Bolognese and Cacio e pepe and then asked for help with selecting noodles that would best compliment our sauces. It's not the cheapest lunch dish you're going to find, but if you want real and hearty Italian, this has to be your joint. I can promise you won't do any better in Tucson. This was a pasta dish that satisfied for longer than a couple hours. There's a reason people say our store-bought pasta sucks. It does. This is clearly the way pasta should be enjoyed. I went to Ceres today for the first time after seeing Carolyn's beautiful pastas on Instagram and I can happily say, that the pasta tastes as good as it looks! Being a self proclaimed expert in pasta I can honestly say this is the best pasta in Tucson. The last time I had pasta that compared I was in my grandmothers kitchen in ItaliaI was welcomed by the owner Coco and the owner Carolyn. The bolognese sauce was exquisite, I had with tagliolini which were cooked perfectly. I finished my meal off with a cappuccino made by Carolyn which was also awesome! My only regret was that I didn't have my phone to take photos. Next time! Can't wait to go back and try a special or the cacio e pepe. read more

This is EXACTLY what Tucson has been missing. The handmade pasta is fantastic and I love that they have a few consistent classics for noodle and sauce options while rotating through weekly specials. The space and small and cute, I wish it was bigger because I wanted to hang out in their wonderful and welcoming space a bit longer. Instead they have an beautiful patio with lush greenery connected to La Cocina for their patrons, which is great because most of the year Tucson weather is quite nice. I don't know if it matters that the pasta is made fresh if it's not cooked enough. Take a piece out, taste it, is it done? does it need more time? Cooks don't always taste each dish they put out, there usually isn't time to do that if you have a lot of tickets. For a $9 pasta that is served in a paper-bowl cup with a plastic fork, it should be spot on. I don't think that's a lot to ask. Maybe it is? Maybe the charming appearance of a hole in the wall restaurant in the Presidio neighborhood is enough? Cute little walk up pasta bar was a nice treat this past week. It has a few pasta options that can be paired with the sauce of your choosing. There's also a dessert display that will satisfy any sweet tooth. I chose the pesto pasta with the thin noodles (forgot the name) and my boyfriend went with the bolognese. The pasta is fresh and tasty. My only wish is that they had more meat options as the only one I saw was that has meat was bolognese. The location of this place has great walkability to nearby shops and there's outdoor seating around the corner. The serving itself was filling and the price point seems right on par with what I'd expect for fresh pasta. I'll be returning to try something new and be sure to taste some of their fresh bread next time I'm there. read more

It was my first time visiting Ceres and I arrived a little before lunch was being served so I decided to order a latte and wait and I'm so glad I did. It looks as if everything is made fresh right there in the shop and you can definitely tell after taking that first bite! Quality of food did not match the quality of service. It was a huge drag - I've been wanting to try Ceres for months now and it took me months to get my partner on board (not for any particular reason - I'm just always on the lookout for good spots to eat in Tucson and one kept happening after the next, you know, the usual). So today's the day - I send her over. First issue: their Instagram does NOT easily or explicitly say "please only place orders online" anywhere accessible like, I don't know, the bio. When she called, the staff was extremely short and rude and requested that she order using the website (fine). Second issue: she orders about 10:30am. The staff kicks off AGAIN only this time about how "we don't usually accept orders before 11am, but we can do it this ONE time." So here's my problem (similar as above) - nowhere on their IG does it explicitly (like in their BIO) say you can't or shouldn't order before 11am and BECAUSE I've been watching this restaurant for months, I understand the limited availability of their orders, especially for the specials. By the time we ordered, there were only FOUR left - soooo which is it? Lmao Last issue: my partner waits til 11 and walks up to the restaurant doors. After several unsuccessful attempts to eat here I finally had a day off during the week day to seek out the hottest new lunch place in Tucson. Ceres is a tiny little restaurant across from La Cocina and manner by three women doing what they love. They're open from 8 to 3 only and serve lunch portions of pasta from 11 o'clock until they run out. I got there about 1230 and they were already out of the basil pesto sauce as well as their special for the day! Wow they are very popular right now. So I opted for the traditional tagliatelle with tomato and basil sauce and the cacio e pepe with tagliolini. It took about five minutes for both dishes to come out in white paper bowls with lids readily available at the counter for takeout. Of note this place only has a small counter area to eat at and only two barstools. I would plan to take your lunch and eat elsewhere, however there is a patio at La cocina across the street. While I waited I tasted some focaccia bread available for sampling and or adding to your pasta upfront and the bread was soft and delightful. There is a glass counter filled with baked goodies as well as cold sandwiches that looks inviting as well. As for both my pasta dishes, the noodles were cooked perfectly el dente, just the way I think pasta should be. Both sauces were loaded with flavor at just the right level leaving you wanting more. The price point is between$9-$13. I only wish they were open during the weekends as well for those of us who are not in downtown Tucson during the weekdays. Oh well we must go when we can I guess! And I will gladly return here for more pasta and perhaps a try their sandwiches as well. read more

A homemade pasta shop that also has espresso and baked goods. Definitely aimed for the lunch crowd.It shares an outdoor seating area with the neighboring business. You pick your pasta from the four or so types made that day and mix and match with the 3-5 sauces that day. So fresh! So savory! So. Good. Such a unique setting. I'm fortunate to live within a couple blocks of this delicious little hidden gem. I literally did a happy dance when, while out walking my dog, I saw they had reopened after a pandemic hiatus. Best pastries and pasta in town! I would go everyday if it weren't for my financial and caloric budgets. I don't tend to care for scones, but I love THEIR scones. I would give Ceres more stars if I could!!! It's near downtown but in a cute area without much traffic, perfect to walk around on a nice day. And the pasta... DIVINE!! I tried the tagliolini with pesto, and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was a delicious complement without being overwhelming. Maybe my favorite part was the focaccia to dip in the sauce-- definitely buy a big piece! The women who run the place are very nice, and I loved the atmosphere. Ceres brings to Tucson what I had been longing for the entirety of my 5-year stay there (and sadly.. as I am writing this I have already moved to Phoenix!): a small (woman-owned!!) local pasta shop with an emphasis on fantastic homemade pastas, all while spotlighting fresh local produce. With each bite you get that fantastic mouthfeel only present with made-from-scratch pasta, cooked to a perfect al dente, soaking up their fantastic in-house sauces. They also have come to boast a variety of freshly baked pastries and bread offerings as well, in addition to their weekly pasta special (usually where they spotlight some sort of local produce!) and homemade gelato. So far I've tried their wide noodles with bolognese, and weekly special of crab ravioli; both were divine, and while the servings appeared to be somewhat small, I was definitely more than full after the meal. In the COVID era of things, they have been able to seamlessly transition their ordering to an online system, with inventory usually up to date with how many servings are left. The ladies at Ceres are badasses and definitely deserve all the support they can get as a new local business. read more

Ceres is well-priced and tastes amazing, even during the pandemic. Their safety protocols are the best I've seen in Tucson. I am so impressed with their food and service. The specials are always fun. Cacio e pepe is my favorite (good things are always simple). Pesto is delicious. Bolognese is tradition-style and therefore different than most I've had in the states, but still delicious. Also their baked goods are great, and the focaccia is to die for. I go there about once a week. read more
