Ariel and the Century Bay Builders team did a great job on our home. They were patient and good-humored as they helped us through a challenging rebuild. We have worked with a few GCs and Century Bay Builders is the team we would recommend for a home improvement project. read more

We had a great experience with Century Bay Builders. Our remodel was extensive--and we were living in the house the whole time--but the process was surprisingly smooth from start to finish. They stayed on schedule, the craftsmanship was consistently high, and the team was very easy to work with throughout. We've already recommended them to several friends and wouldn't hesitate to do so again! read more

Great company very professional Ariel was very communicative. Their Designer did a fabulous job. We needed to remodel our entire home and add 400 sqft as our kitchen and living room were too small. The planning phase took about six months and the work was complete completed in about five months we are very happy with the decision we made by trusting Century Bay builders and we highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have a smooth and fun experience read more

We recently completed a remodel of five rooms with Century Bay Builders and would highly recommend them. We took longer than anticipated due to some unforeseen issues that can come up during a construction project, but we were very happy with the final results. To compound the complexity we did not move out. Ariel and his team were very supporting and provided some constructive ideas and alternatives as the project moved forward. Overall we were very pleased with the craftsmenship, the honesty and the final outcome. read more

I am going to preface by stating that I have yet to meet anyone who has had a great experience with their contractor enough they they would refer them without any hesitation. However I can say that our experience with Ariel was as seamless as it could have been. We were out of the country for the majority of our remodel, and Ariel had to communicate with us, our designer who moved out of the US right before the remodel started, and our family member who lived nearby and would help to check on things. It's not easy to communicate amongst 3 time zones but Ariel and his crew were able to do this well. A few things that I loved about Ariel and his crew: 1. He gave us a price (not the cheapest and not the most expensive), but he did not stray from it. He tells you exactly what is included in his pricing and what isn't. I compared and interviewed 6 different contractors but realized quickly that they deliberately left things out of their quotes and in the end , the ones who seemed to have lower pricing were hiding some crucial expenditures that would have ended up costing us more in the end. Ariel was direct and honest through and through, and we were able to stick to the budget. 2. His communication is timely. This was important as we were traveling and he insisted on minimum weekly zoom meetings and walk throughs in the progress 3. His crew was fantastic. A few times I had to ask if they could redo some of the finishes to how we imagined it, and they did it without argument or hesitation. 4. I interviewed the vendors with which Ariel works in addition to people who have had their homes remodeled by him, and there were positive reviews across the board. I received glowing feedback both from his vendors and from his clients. Make sure you do this when you are shopping for contractors. 5. He takes care of his crew, and it shows. His clients are happy because his crew his happy. I am not saying that there were no bumps in the road, but Ariel and his crew helped to solve these problems creatively and as a team. We will have to do a second phase of our remodel, and Ariel will be doing this part for us too. As opposed to the first time around when I was anxious about the whole experience, having gone through this experience with him already I can enter it worry free. read more

I've been around construction company for the better side of a decade and the dedication, results, and experience of Century Bay Builders, and Ariel specifically, are second to none. I've seen many of their projects and each one is a jewel. I know Ariel as a family man, and a business owner- and the business is part of the family. He will take care of your every need. Jordan and Shayna and team were awesome to work with. They were clear and open about our options to complete our project of converting our garage into an ADU, expanding our master bathroom, expanding our closet and adding a third bathroom in our house. The timeline they provided us from the beginning was accurate and we were thrilled with the results upon completion of the project. My wife and I would highly recommend working with them for any renovation needs. read more

We went with Ariel for our kitchen/great room remodel after getting a few quotes and are very happy with the end result. Ariel wasn't necessarily the cheapest quote we received of the 4 contractors, but he was so great at communicating, following up, and providing a really comprehensive quote/price that we decided to go with him (and he was competitive within the same ballpark price as the others). We originally engaged with Ariel early 2020 but then the pandemic hit and we put our project on hold for a few months. We decided to really kickoff our project in August 2020 and after a few months delay getting permits, we were ready to begin construction after Thanksgiving (end of November). While our kitchen remodel was supposed to take 6-8 weeks, in the end it did take 14 weeks, but I wouldn't credit the extended timeline to Ariel's team as we ran into delays with the city requesting we move the sewer line and then the next available inspection appointment not being until 2 weeks later. Overall we're very happy with how our kitchen came out. Ariel and his team met with us multiple times before starting construction to talk through our plans and give pointers on suggested changes. When we were in the middle of construction he was clear with what steps we needed to do and when (i.e., order cabinets, countertops, and appliances, and finalize finishes, etc.) and had great suggestions for places to shop for all of this where he had his contractors discount at. His team was courteous, clean, on time, and meticulous. Ariel kept us in the loop throughout the project and ensured we weren't surprised at any point in it. We felt he was proactive in knowing what the full scope of work was and so we didn't need to spend additional money beyond what was initially bid (except we did pay more for extras like getting the entire houses old insulation vacuumed and replaced). None of the 'nickel and dime' tactics that I hear complaints about in other construction projects where they give you a low quote but everything is an additional cost. The scope of our project included removing the old kitchen and walls, installing a 20' beam to open the kitchen to the living room, adding a kitchen island, weaving in new hardwood flooring to match the living room and refinishing all, new cabinets, appliances, countertops, tile, electrical, plumbing, drywall, insulation, paint, and finish a laundry space. The team made sure everything was done exactly as we wanted and before finishing went through the space with a fine-tooth comb to ensure everything was perfect. Overall we're really happy with Ariel and his team and would definitely recommend them, as well as use them again for future projects. read more

This review comes a year after the completion of the our home project which included: 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom remodels, addition of recessed lighting, redoing stair banisters, removal of popcorn ceiling (sans asbestos) and soffit ceiling, and redoing a wall which had extensive water damage! Ariel and his team (Carlos, Miguel) have been great to work with. Early on we had set up a dedicated whatsapp chat group for questions and updates, and worked through the best ways to communicate statuses. Due to the pandemic, there were long waits for materials, but once things were available, progress happened quickly. After a big storm a few weeks before we were due to move in, they notified us of the water-damaged wall they found which was pretty serious (that we wouldn't have known otherwise), and gave us a no frills rundown of what our options were. It was great that they were able to catch this before we moved in and had it taken care of quickly. It's been a year since we moved into our home, and we're still enjoying our space a lot. Recently, when we noticed some leaks around a window they had installed, Ariel dispatched his team within the same week to assess and fix it for us. Can't say enough about Carlos and Miguel - always working hard and getting things done quickly. Thank you Century Bay Builders! read more

Friends recommended Century Bay Builders after they completed an extensive remodel of their home. After getting a few bids, we chose Century Bay Builders based on their timeline, fair costs, and responsiveness. We definitely made the right decision! Ariel and his crew (mainly Carlos and Miguel) were great and easy to work with. We were in constant contact and they were extremely responsive. The original scope of our project was a complete kitchen, dining, and living room remodel and we expanded our project to touch nearly every surface of our home, including new stucco and front porch! Even with our changes, Ariel and team remained focused and dedicated. We faced some supply chain related delays for various materials, but we always felt at ease knowing that Ariel was aware of timing and staging what could be done while waiting for materials to arrive. One of the things we loved about working with Ariel is his design aesthetic. He was great to bounce ideas off and had great suggestions and reassurances. The quality of the work is excellent and we are so thrilled to enjoy both the beauty and function of our home. I would highly recommend hiring Century Bay Builders. We have more projects in mind down the road and we plan to work with Ariel and his team again! read more

Would give a gazillion five star reviews if I could! Ariel and his team hit it out of the park with our kitchen and bathroom renovations. It looks so good that now the rest of our house looks outdated in comparison. I'll be updating this review with pictures of the final product but I truly cannot recommend Century Bay Builder enough! read more

We had Ariel and his team at CB update our kitchen and bathrooms in the house, and we were going in pretty clueless and only with a few ideas of what we wanted. Ariel was extremely helpful in giving design tips and recommendations for what will look good in our space given the layout. CenturyBay even works with a designer to give renders ahead of time and get a good idea of what your space looks like The team worked fast and with high quality and professionalism. For the kitchen part of the project, we kept the existing cabinets and got them face-lifted and it honestly looks like a brand new kitchen. The bathrooms are luxury standard and we are very happy with the result read more

Ariel and his team completely remodeled our home interior. They created a large open plan space for the living room, kitchen and dining room by removing walls and refinishing everything nicely. By taking over space from an old bathroom and 2 adjacent closets, we were able to add a bathroom as well. Our old dirty garage is now finished as a very comfortable space. Ariel was super supportive during the whole process and understanding of our budget and schedule. He provided a great eye for design and helpful suggestions to solve issues without adding cost. I'm very happy with our home and the experience with Ariel and Century Bay Builders. read more

We just completed remodel of 4 bathrooms in our 70's vintage Los Gatos home. We engaged Century Bay Builders after reading great Yelp reviews. Shayna managed our project and Bryon and his crew (Roberto and Iker) did the work along with glass and tile installers and counter top fabricators. Because we lived in the home while the work was being done Shayna broke the project into 2 sub projects. The first was two bathrooms and half bath. The master bath was the second project. Shayna helped us shop for materials and aided in design and selection of fixtures. The highlight of the project is the curbless walk-in shower in the master bath. The project went very well and we are extremely happy with the results. read more

We were looking out for house addition and adding master suite. We contacted lot of companies through thumbtack, google etc. Century bay builders (Shayna and Jordan) were the only guys who painted a clear picture for us on how the remodel would look like where others weren't giving enough information. Every step throughout the whole process, Shayna was very detail oriented and guided us with the design, picking finish material, picking right paints, contact information for all vendors etc. Whenever we had a questions/concerns they were always available to address them right away. Permits process was very smooth and we didn't face any issues. We are in complete love with the final product. We completely recommend Century bay builders for your house projects. They are the best!!! read more

Ariel and his team did a phenomenal job for our room + bathroom addition project! He dealt with scope change (room addition became room + bathroom addition), architect change (the architect I had hired was no good, Ariel's architect saved the day) peacefully, calmly and always put our satisfaction in the first place. During construction, whenever we ran into an issue Ariel dealt it with safely and urgently. Our gas pipes around the house were really old and rusted and they broke down during demo. This was a surprise, but Ariel sent a plumber within an hour to help install a safe temporary solution that kept delivering gas to our house so we could get heat in the house at night. His team is very nice, most speak English. They kept the living room and other living areas super clean even during construction. They work with extreme care (we had a countertop Bar marble stone from an existing room sticking out 1 foot in the new construction room. I can't believe that they were able to build a whole room around without ever so much as scratching the marble stone). Ariel earned our trust and delivered a hassle free experience for a room construction. I would definitely hire him and his team again without any concerns! read more

This was our second time working with Ariel and team and highly recommend. Most recently they worked on our master bathroom. They did an amazing job bringing our vision to life. We were very impressed by the work, especially the tile work. Ariel is a great communicator and very easy to work with. Also during COVID, the team was very safe and wore masks the whole time. Can't wait to work with them again. read more

I just want to say that this company I so different from all other companies I worked with. Ariel came to my house for an estimate and right away I noticed that the guy knows what he's talking about. He was very professional and even gave me new design ideas for our new project! I decided to go with him and wasn't disappointed. The crew was on time every morning they were very clean and the work was done in timely matter and very professional. Our bathroom looks AMAZING!!! Strongly recommend this company to whoever needs home improvements done on the best side. Thank you Ariel. read more

We recently worked with Century Bay to remodel both our bathrooms, back to back. From the start Shayna won us over with her great suggestions, calm demeanour and willingness to work with us. We didn't have a grand vision but knew a few things that we wanted and we were able to work together well to fill in all the details. The project came in on budget, on time, and we enjoyed working with everyone within the organization. In the end we took two bathrooms in need of repairs and overhaul and came in with two fantastic bathrooms we're ready to live in for decades. We're extremely happy with the work (it speaks for itself) and would happily work with Century Bay again. read more

This review is for Ariel coming out to give me estimates. He was on time for both, professional, took all safety precautions and explained everything so well. The estimates given were very fair, especially with the amazing photos on here. With our house repairs being completely unexpected, we had to go with our cheapest bid, but with Ariel's professionalism, and ease and kindness to work with, I really hope we can hire them for a planned project in the future! We know with home owning, you can never run out of projects! Thanks Ariel! And hope to work with you guys in the future! read more

We hired Century Bay Builders to perform a complete remodel of our home. Overall, we were very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism, and timeliness of the project. They offered a fair bid, and came within budget in the end. I highly recommend working with Ariel. He is very personable, humble, flexible, and easy to work with overall. There were certain times when we needed additional services or change orders, and he handled them with grace and patience. He was also very response to my phone calls and email (never waiting more than a business day). Lastly, he has a flair for the aesthetics and holds himself to the highest building standards. He added creative inputs which enhanced the final result. We plan to perform additional upgrades to our home in a few years, and will be working with this team again. read more

Every renovation comes with it's bumps in the road. All I can say is you are better off with the team at Century Bay Builders. I can't say enough good things about them. 200% recommendation from me. Zero reservations, and we did a pretty big remodel. A+ communication & responsiveness A+ planning A+ work (attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship) A+ timing - yes we hit some bumps in the road with the city/inspections but they were on-it. They planned ahead and communicated and followed up. And best of all A+ team I would want to work with again... if you have a big renovation, you will be working with your contractor, project manager and foreman A LOT. I can't say enough nice things about Ariel, Noam and Jose. They are all stand-up, authentic, nice, knowledgeable, professional men. I want to hug them all for the impact they have had on my home and my family. I don't know what I did to deserve the care, service, and respect they provided me, I can only recommend them to all I know. read more

Best decision I made to work with Ariel and his team (Carlos, Raul and others) for a major remodel of my kitchen, living room with also a new vaulted ceiling/roof. Ariel brings a big picture POV, keeps the success of the project in mind at all times and in my case didn't hesitate to challenge some of the design assumptions to make the project outcome even better than initially planned, with still keeping the budget constraints in mind. The team is hard working, professional, and personable which has made the project easier to sustain throughout its duration. I highly recommend to work with Ariel and already planning to do my next project with him and his team!! read more

Ariel helped me design and produce a blueprint for my remodelling project. Ariel was very patitent listening to all our needs, offered very helpful and profession advice to identify potential problems and make the project more cost-effective. Ariel's colleague Romain was responsible for producing the blueprint. Romain was very responsive. We went through 8 versions of the blueprints to accomodate all my needs, and Romain happily accommodated all my requests and answered all my questions. What's more, every time I ask Romain to update something, Romain would get back to me with the updated blueprint within a few hours. I am extremely happy to work with Ariel and Romain! read more

We did a kitchen remodeling project several years ago, and it took over a year to complete the kitchen 90%. At that point, I promised myself I'd never do a home remodeling project ever again. Fast forward, I had to redo the shower because the shower pan was leaking. I contacted several builders, and everyone offered to remodel the bathroom entirely but Century Bay Builders was the only one that said they would redo the shower only to help me save some money. Shayna was my project manager, and finished the project on time and on budget. Her crew was super polite, very meticulous and detailed - the worked pleased my Type A husband, and showed up 8 to 5 every day, including weekends to get the job done. I recently had a bathroom remodel with Century Bay Builders . My project manager was Ariel Ben. He was outstanding. He had great ideas, we went through multiple materials and layouts to find the right match. He stayed very conscious of my budget and kept me up to date with every phase of the project. Definitely by the far the best communication I've ever had with a contractor. His crew was timely and reliable and I was always informed on when they would be working. My wife and I were looking to redo 2 bathrooms, but we've never done a remodeling project before. We had talked with around 10 different contractors, but couldn't find one we were comfortable with. We discovered Ariel and Century Bay Builders on Yelp, and after meeting with him, we found him very experienced, with a good eye for design and very friendly and personable. He was extremely helpful to us remodeling newbies. When we told him we were going to All Natural Stone (ANS) to get ideas, he met us there and along with Jeff of ANS (who was super helpful too!), helped us come up with and finalize the tile, pattern, trim, accents, etc for our bathrooms. All throughout the process he was extremely helpful with fixture options, tub suggestions, glass enclosures and other details. Construction went quickly considering it was in the middle of the pandemic in fall/winter 2020. As issues arose, Ariel communicated them to us so we could make changes to our plan. Everything turned out exactly the way we imagined. My wife loves her new master bathroom. read more

Note: This is a review for just the bidding process. I am converting my garage to an ADU, and it has been a pleasure working with Ariel. Here's my reason for giving him and his company 5 stars 1) Ariel was on time to the appointment. He went over all of the details, made detailed notes and answered any question I had. 2) He promptly followed back with a detailed quote, which was about the same as his ballpark estimate. 3) He was prompt in all of the responses, and was willing to work with me on my budget and plan. He even recommended a change to my plan to ensure a better layout. Among the many builders who came out, Ariel was among the very few who was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. Ariel from Century bay builders did an amazing job remodeling our kitchen. We interviewed many contractors before the start of the job and feel so fortunate we had chosen to work with Ariel and his team. They are absolutely stellar. He listened carefully about our wants and needs and offered great suggestions combining professionalism and vision. After the estimation, he came in with a guaranteed price, which is very reasonable compared to others. As he had promised, there was no "surprise" to the fixed charge. Even the minor unexpected issues did show up, they were taken care of cheerfully, we are very thankful for that. Ariel is detail-oriented and he really cares about doing things the right way. I appreciate how Ariel and his team took care of everything from the 3D design, pulling the permits from the city, making sure the projects on schedule, and keep us updated on the progress. He even went shopping for the materials together with us. All his patience and expertise made that painful process a breeze, very exciting and enjoyable.
