    Sweet Potato Humus
    Tim S.

This is a restaurant and bar located in the Marriott hotel. Normally hotel restaurants are just okay. This one was a little better than okay so I gave it 4 stars. I did eat here twice during a visit to Atlanta, both for dinner. When I was there, the restaurant was being managed by the bartender, even the table service. You have a decent size bar and sit down tables as well. Bar select was good for a hotel. Beer and wine selection was respectable. A few local beers on draft. Mixed drink selection and custom cocktails were decent. Service was outstanding. Both nights the bartender took very good care of us. Regarding the food, the New York strip was outstanding. I was shocked how good it was. The flatbreads are okay. The sweet potato humus is very good as an appetizer. Note, this is a hotel restaurant so expect the prices to be slightly higher than other places. You are paying for the convenience.

Great selection of food and cocktails. Solid vibe with tv's. Good service. Nice to not have to leave the property for a good meal.

Much better than expected! Very nice servers and freshly cooked food. Reasonably priced wines by the glass.

I wholeheartedly wish I could give this place 10 stars! I discovered Piraye Kitchen because my…read morefiancée sent me a Facebook video of their massive meat pie. The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!

We went on a weekend when there was live music. They offer a very creative cocktail list utilizing their craft spirits. They also offer unique and varied public events such as caviar tasting, pasta making, comedy shows and art shows. I tried their peach vodka which made for a yummy ingredient in a creative cocktail. This is not your average distillery- it's a cultural experience with art to explore and cocktails to enjoy along with a calendar filled with events.

This trip was actually our first time visiting without him so we were a little lost about what to do next. LOL. We had gone to a cafe earlier in the day but it was still too early for dinner so we kept searching for something interesting to do. That's when my husband found Distillery of Modern Art. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking during the day so I wasn't sure at first but I'm so glad we went! We had never heard of a combination of a distillery and an art gallery before which immediately caught our attention. It looked like the space is used for a variety of events as well. Since we visited during Mother's Day weekend, there was a flower arrangement workshop happening in one of the rooms when we arrived. The bar area was very spacious with plenty of seating and since it was our first visit, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different liquors they produce. My husband sampled their rye whiskey, gin, and Amaro Peach. I'm usually not much of a gin fan but theirs was exceptionally smooth and I actually enjoyed it. Amaro tends to be quite bitter but their Amaro Peach had a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. I ordered the Ocean Eyes cocktail which features their Amaro Peach and it was excellent. The bartender also made his own special version of a classic cocktail for my husband (I forgot the name!) and he really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how friendly and passionate the bartender was. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and honestly, he made the experience even more enjoyable for us. We had such a great visit that my husband ended up bringing home bottles of their gin and Amaro Peach. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Atlanta!

I heard the drinks are to sweet so I opted not to try those because I do not like super sweet drinks. As far as soft drinks, you can get bottled water or canned soda. There is a limit of one refill on tea. Tre Songs must have stock in this business because they wear his song out. Every time it's some's birthday they will play that song. Outside of that...the music is a vibe. Next time I'm in the A, I'll skip this spot.

And clearly, her mother did not teach her manners, I can't imagine being so disrespectful as she was. I had no idea there was a dress code, and I have no issue with being turned away if one exists. What I object to is being greeted with a shouted, "Oh no, no, no," as though we had wandered in barefoot and carrying a cooler. A simple, civilized "I'm sorry, but we have a dress code" would have done the job. Instead, she chose theatrical inhospitality and condescension. For the record, I was wearing Prada platform sneakers, a Cartier watch, Chanel earrings, Fendi, baguette, and a French-terry top. So while I may not have met whatever arbitrary standard she was enforcing, I was hardly dressed in a way that justified being treated like an intrusion. Frankly, it was clear my top alone was worth more than her entire outfit that looked like it came from Filene's Bargain Basement for tor a funeral director. In the end though, manners, as they say, cannot be purchased. Southern hospitality is a joke. This was absolutely the rudest person I've ever I encounter in 47 years at an establishment. She may have been dressed up, but she clearly had no style,
