Shrimp and Grits with Fried Green Tomatoes
    Jean S.

The first night I ate at the Stackstone Grill, I had wonderful and efficient service. I ordered the barbeque shrimp and grits with fried green tomatoes. The grits were amazing - creamy and smooth. The shrimp and tomatoes were just all right. I typically find restaurant food to be overly salty, but I actually had to salt the fried green tomatoes. I returned for another meal during my stay at the Marriott, and it was much less stellar. The service was rushed and spotty, and we kept getting pushed to order more drinks. Speaking of drinks, after ordering a mojito, my co-worker was told they have no mint. So, she ordered a margarita that was so weak, all she could taste was the sour margarita mix. Glad I stuck with wine. I had the Marriott burger, and she had the chicken quesadilla - both were typical of bar fare.

I have worked in the nearby area for over 5 years and never knew about this place. So sad. I had a work meeting and gave my dining partner the option of a few places around this location. She picked The Stackstone Grille. Perfect! We arrived late in the lunch hour, but no worries. I ordered the cobb salad and she ordered wings. My salad was the perfect size and tasted great. My dining partner also enjoyed her lemon pepper wings. She said it had good flavor and was a great for a light lunch. We stayed for a quite a while (a decent amount of time after they were closed for lunch), but never felt rushed by the staff. They let us be. And service, overall, was great. I will definitely be back.

This is located inside the hotel I was staying at. I had the ribs since I was in Atlanta. You know the diet of Southerners. BBQ, sweet tea, sweet potatoes, etc. The night I was dining here, there was a Crackheads Anonymous support group gathering. No joke.

    Turkey Burger and fries

Just okay...I was here back in November of 2015 and I ordered a turkey burger from the bar to take upstairs to my hotel room with me. The bartender wasn't that attentive and messed up my order. The Turkey Burger itself was okay. I probably wouldn't order it again though.

Food notes: * Beignets: Delicious starter for groups or anyone with a sweet tooth (kids love them too). * Short Rib Hash: Hearty, flavorful, and always great. * Omelette Specials: My usual go-to. Just wish the kitchen would consistently catch that I'm lactose intolerant and need no cheese. The center can also be a bit underdone, especially when I order egg whites -- but flavor-wise, still love it. * Ham Benedict: Solid classic. * Steak & Eggs: Disappointing the one time we tried it -- especially given the price point. * The Big Nasty: Legit comfort food, but would love if it came on a biscuit instead of a soft bun (or if there was an option to swap). * Breakfast Potatoes: Extra crispy with onions -- I personally love them, but some might find them a touch too dark Drinks: * Coffee menu is limited -- just drip, cappuccino, and double espresso, with cream as the only option. * Would love to see non-dairy milk options and better coffee quality overall -- we've skipped brunch a few times because of that. Service & vibe: * Always attentive and friendly. * Really appreciated the thoughtful touch during our last visit -- they surprised my husband with a brownie for his birthday and brought me a dairy-free dessert so I wasn't left out. All in all, Haven remains one of our favorite casual-yet-upscale brunch spots -- just a few tweaks away from being perfect.

They kept the spicy margaritas flowing, and let me tell you those drinks have just enough kick to make you rethink your life choices in the best way possible. Now, let's talk about this food, because I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing. The Fried Wings were fried to such perfection I'm convinced the chef has a PhD in crunch-ology. The Yams! These sweet potatoes were clearly touched by the Candy Lady herself. I don't know if it's sugar or magic, but I'm addicted. The Mac and Cheese! It was so perfect I almost asked it to marry me. My husband, went the "responsible" route with the baked turkey wing, green beans, and yellow rice. That turkey was falling off the bone like it was tired of being an overachiever, and the green beans had more flavor than my entire childhood. Even the rice was seasoned like it had a point to prove. Bottom line: If you're looking for us, we'll be here. This isn't just a meal, it's a spiritual experience. If "Soul Food" is the question, this place is the only answer.

Service was fast and quick and we had a great time. We got the wings and cornbread to share. She ordered the salmon while I ordered the catfish. Both were delicious and hot upon arrival and we got 4 different sides, green beans, yams, Mac n cheese, and collard greens (which were all FANTASTIC). We practically share the sides since we got different ones. 10/10 recommend this place. The vibe was also super cute with the R& B music. We visited back in February and are still talking about this food! I will definitely be back when visiting Atlanta again!

They made recommendations on food choices and humored us when we all decided to get something different to share asking for extra plates. I ordered the pot pie and a side house salad and practically licked my plate and bowl they were so freaking good! Sadly I didn't get any pictures because I was trying to be respectful of the company I was in but the dishes were all picture perfect! Love that they have a parking lot with plenty of space and a great dining room that was easy to accommodate several large parties! Looking forward to my next visit when I move to the area soon!

They have an incredible Gluten Free selection, which is not why we went, but I noted that if you were GF, this would be your heaven-on-earth. As you may notice, the menu is on the pricier side compared to other joints in the neighborhood. I'm here to tell you, it's WORTH it! I had an absolutely delicious Pot Roast. Everyone in my group of 5 got something different but loved it just to same. Fun fact: there's a hidden speakeasy inside the restaurant you should try out before/ after/ in lieu of dinner in the main restaurant. This place is EXCELLENT! Can't wait to return now.
