Shrimp and Grits with Fried Green Tomatoes
    Jean S.

The first night I ate at the Stackstone Grill, I had wonderful and efficient service. I ordered the barbeque shrimp and grits with fried green tomatoes. The grits were amazing - creamy and smooth. The shrimp and tomatoes were just all right. I typically find restaurant food to be overly salty, but I actually had to salt the fried green tomatoes. I returned for another meal during my stay at the Marriott, and it was much less stellar. The service was rushed and spotty, and we kept getting pushed to order more drinks. Speaking of drinks, after ordering a mojito, my co-worker was told they have no mint. So, she ordered a margarita that was so weak, all she could taste was the sour margarita mix. Glad I stuck with wine. I had the Marriott burger, and she had the chicken quesadilla - both were typical of bar fare.

I have worked in the nearby area for over 5 years and never knew about this place. So sad. I had a work meeting and gave my dining partner the option of a few places around this location. She picked The Stackstone Grille. Perfect! We arrived late in the lunch hour, but no worries. I ordered the cobb salad and she ordered wings. My salad was the perfect size and tasted great. My dining partner also enjoyed her lemon pepper wings. She said it had good flavor and was a great for a light lunch. We stayed for a quite a while (a decent amount of time after they were closed for lunch), but never felt rushed by the staff. They let us be. And service, overall, was great. I will definitely be back.

This is located inside the hotel I was staying at. I had the ribs since I was in Atlanta. You know the diet of Southerners. BBQ, sweet tea, sweet potatoes, etc. The night I was dining here, there was a Crackheads Anonymous support group gathering. No joke.

    Turkey Burger and fries

Just okay...I was here back in November of 2015 and I ordered a turkey burger from the bar to take upstairs to my hotel room with me. The bartender wasn't that attentive and messed up my order. The Turkey Burger itself was okay. I probably wouldn't order it again though.

Zero bartender on a Tuesday night to be found at all, whatsoever. Creepy men and a sketchy parking lot. Why is this place open when everything around it has closed and it looks really bad outside? I've passed by this nearly deserted plaza many times and never felt the urge to enter. But the urge for a burger was strong late at night and they had a special going through Uber Eats, as I'm not sure I'd have tried this place otherwise. The burger was surprising large and decent. It was undeniably tasty and prepared exactly how I ordered it which rarely happens at other places. But the fries... oh boy. Whatever oil they fried them with was undoubtedly old and nasty. I had to drown them in hot sauce to be able to eat them. My digestive system did not enjoy that decision. In term of ambience... this is a bar. No matter the time of day, the vibes will always be a bar. Very sticky. Sepia-like, with drunk, belligerent customers and cigarettes littering the storefront. Not sure I'd eat in here. But hey, I gotta give them their props for that burger. I'd definitely order it again if the craving arises, especially since I live in the neighborhood. Shout out to them for staying open late.

I saw previous reviews mentioning that parking was a challenge, however I visited on a weekday so I didn't have that issue. Venue and Atmosphere The interior is sleek yet casual, with plenty of sunlight from floor to ceiling windows. Feel free to browse the selection of fresh seafood as you enter. Food and drinks I visited with friends and we shared several appetizers: oxtail gumbo, salmon bites, grilled oysters. They were all delicious and flavorful. Service Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient Verdict I'll be back!

Wow--let's talk about this dining experience…read more The oxtail gumbo? My first time trying it, and definitely not my last. Every bite was rich, comforting, and fully satisfying. Then came the salmon bites on wonton--crispy, flavorful, and such a perfect balance of texture. For the entrée, the pasta with salmon was not only delicious but a generous portion that didn't miss. And for something sweet... the bread pudding? So moist, topped with ice cream and Oreos--it was giving indulgence in the best way. But what really sealed the night for me was the coffee pairing. It took the show and brought everything together beautifully. I also loved the range of the menu--there's something for every craving. The service was excellent, and the food presentation matched the quality. Honestly had me thinking, what took me so long to dine here? Especially since I'm in this area often. Bonus: patio seating for outdoor season, plus easy access with self-parking, valet, or a parking deck.

Fun fact: there's a hidden speakeasy inside the restaurant you should try out before/ after/ in lieu of dinner in the main restaurant. This place is EXCELLENT! Can't wait to return now.

We started with the gumbo, which was tasty and for our mains we had the oxtail and fish. Both were cooked well and full of flavor. The ambiance was another highlight. The vibe was relaxed and cool, with good R&B music playing in the background. This made the whole experience feel enjoyable and laid-back. I can see this Restaurant being a good pie for girls night out, we didn't order any alcoholic drinks so I can't speak to that but it's the same aesthetic as most Atlanta restaurants.
