Medical bills kill us, but CPI is the only provider who makes sure we get the best price, every time. For starters, our insurance doesn't cover imaging, so the provider doesn't have to bill us at the insurance rate, they can bill at the much higher Full Rate. And labs like LabCorp and Clinical Pathology Labs do indeed bill at the Full Rate, which is sometimes 6x higher than the insurance rate. But CPI lets us pay at the insurance rate, which saves us a ton. Further, sometimes self-pay is cheaper than going through insurance, so CPI always checks both prices and then bills us at whatever option is cheaper. We have dozens of providers and *nobody* else does this. Finally, Paige remembers us and always asks about the kids (she remembers details about them). We don't experience that anywhere else, either. read more

I went to Central Park Imaging at 900 W 38th St #100, Austin, TX 78705 on 3/17/2026 for an MRI procedure. The tech was Gary House. I was not in pain when I went in, but Mr. House elicited so much unexpected pain that I screamed suddenly in response. He did not react to my pain at all, but instead, continued to give test instructions. Mr. House was in a hurry. When the test was completed, he wanted me off the table as quickly as possible and told me to sit in another chair to put on my shoes. The MRI room is not adjacent to the bathroom, so patients have to walk through the halls in hospital attire in front of other patients before getting dressed. I was in pain for days after, and had to return to my doctor. I reported my experience to my doctor and to the manager of Central Park Imaging. On the facility's Website the profile for Gary House states: "He loves working in healthcare and helping people find out why they hurt." In my case, I was not treated respectfully, and Gary House put me in extreme physical and emotional pain. I have never received mistreatment at other imaging facilities. read more

This place is amazing. I've used ARA for years and have never had a positive experience like this one. My new physician suggested them because I'm self-pay and they seem way better on their pricing. The staff I enter acted with was amazing and so friendly, all the front girls were hard at work and so sweet and seemed very on top of things. The nurse that assisted me was also hard at work and very sweet! I've worked in the medical field for multiple years and to receive this type of great service was like a breath of fresh air. I wish I could give CPI five stars because they have a lovely warm human touch with actual humans answering the phone and the entire staff is warm and caring. Unfortunately, the last two times I've scheduled MRI scans there, needing results ASAP, I've been rescheduled for a week or more ahead, causing delay in further treatment. Most recently, after being assured that the scans would be read and forwarded to my doctors ASAP after a week's delay in having the scan, those results sat on a desk for TWO DAYS waiting to be sent off. I have no idea how much longer it may have been if I hadn't rattled their cage. This isn't new. Previous results have also been slow to arrive at the referring doctor's office. read more

Positives: They were quick to schedule my MRI and the technician was nice and helpful on the day of my appointment. Negatives: Their MRI machine is incredibly small, I thought it was for a child. Also I had to call to remind them to send my results to my doctor. Lastly, I had my scan over 15 days ago and they have still not filed with my insurance. read more

This is the only place our family goes for imaging in Austin. When you call, you get an actual human who is IN that office IN Austin, TX, not somewhere far away. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and responsive. The customer service is WAY better than the huge conveyor belt, call center worm hole, that is the other big provider in town. I can't speak to the insurance aspect just yet, but my insurance is a partner of Green Imaging which might be why the process was so great. In terms of the medical care, they are great. I have a lot of anxiety and they put me at ease. In addition, results were super fast. Front office staff was nice. I had to go for a CT and an MRI, and one of the medical staff even recognized me (I did appear a week later) which is nice because they must have so many patients. You can ask for a CD of your results -- just a heads up it's VERY slow to view, at least when I looked in my public library. I suspect if you buy one of those CD player things on Amazon and load it up to a computer that's not Windows XP it might be better. Just don't add the images it to ChatGPT or any bots, you're going to drive yourself crazy with inaccurate results. Wait until your report is ready! read more

The receptionist was extremely rude. She acted like checking my insurance was a favor she was doing me, instead of a standard request. She then proceeded to cancel my procedure, costing this business money. I'm not sure why she was so rude but I recommend you find another location to perform your procedure. read more

It was the best experience I've had at a medical facility. I had an emergency, and they got me in immediately. They even lent me a wheelchair to take home and use overnight. I watched the office staff answer phone calls and care for several patients simultaneously. They remained competent, laid-back, and friendly throughout. PLEASE PLEASE- DO NOT USE THIS CENTER FOR YOUR MEDICAL NEEDS. MRI with contrast/without contrast report they gave back was 100% INCORRECT. I am so glad I had a CT done from another place that helped me understand the root issue of the problem and I could right away tell their MRI diagnosis was incorrect. If I had used only their service, I would have ended up in an emergency. DO NOT go to this service even if you find this cheaper. Their reports are 100% INCORRECT. I wish there was a negative star to give for this place for they are playing with people's lives. Wow, it's not every day I get to share a super positive experience in medicine, but I spoke with this really lovely lady at what I'm imagining was a front desk (-laugh-) and even though she didn't identify herself for me to acknowledge as properly as I wish I could here (she was in the middle of something when I called (I only know this because she was trailing off as she picked up), so it seemed like she was multitasking! I'm only saying this just in case her mean ol' crumugenoy boss (-laughing- Again, I'm imagining!) grumps at her for not identifying herself!), she was an absolute delight! I want to say that even not knowing her name, you'd be able to identify her! She's jovial, charming, has a soft hint of an accent, and is probably -- again, only guessing here! -- in her mid to late 40s-50s? May she forgive me if it's not true! I called, today, because I'm what you might call a seriously nervous MRI'r! I had no idea that being mashed into a metal tube scared the crud out of me, until I was inside one, once, and without any consent to either my brain or my body, literally started to freak out! Knowing not only what you're getting in for, but what your options are is kind of vital in that situation! I didn't figure the person answering the phones right off the bat could answer my specific questions, but boy howdy! She was not only sweet, concerned, compassionate, and kind, but she did so with a professional attitude, but also without seeming like, as sometimes people do when they're being ultra professional, holding me at arms length. People in medicine can sometimes range between totally cold and dispassionate, to like weird and all up in your business. This gal was none of those things and just everything lovely and positive! I am grateful there's not just ADA to rely on. After having a pretty negative experience there, I'm really glad I can schedule with someone else who exemplifies all of these awesome qualities. As I was finishing with my questions, she asked me if I knew what they were wanting to MRI (the area of my body) and I explained to her what the orders were. She added, "Well that's a 27 minute test. Just so you really know what you're getting in for!" =D I mean! She was totally thorough with me! I think if you're like me, looking for a new place to go, this place sure shows itself to be outside the norm! When my son possibly tore his ACL, the orthopedist referred us to ARA for an MRI. I have a high deductible plan so would have to pay out of pocket. When I called ARA and found how much they'd charge for the MRI, I did a quick search and found Central Park Imaging who could do the MRI for almost half as much. Our experience was fantastic: the office was well-run, the staff was friendly and engaged my 10 year old son in conversation, the MRI went quickly and smoothly, and they gave me both a CD of the MRI and also uploaded it to the PACS system so the orthopedist could review it online. I found Central Park Imaging because of their lower cost, but now I would go back because of the great experience. read more

Was at Central Park Imaging for a Brain MRI April of 2023. Front office staff and those performing the actual procedure were all nice and did a great job. My issue is with the business practice on rates and billing for their services. This was my first visit to Central Park Imaging. I did not select them but was recommended to go there by my oncologist office because UnitedHealthcare was no longer including ARA in their plan for coverage. I was told it would be about $1,200 using my insurance. I replied that this seemed high and was double or more than I had been charged for MRI after plan discount. This was also my first time having an MRI with UnitedHealth care as my insurance. At no point did the business office person discuss or present any option for self-pay rate that as it turns out they do offer, and it would have saved me 50% to 60%. Much closer to what I had been paying thru ARA for past three years for exact same service. It seems they were much more interested in getting me to pay the higher rate then treating me fairly and at least offering the self-pay discounted rate. After the fact the told me they were not obligated to offer me the self-pay rate but could it have been done if I had asked. To me that's terrible customer service and not looking out for the best interest of their customer vs. up charging me for twice the cost to increase their margin. I'm not in the medical field and don't know these questions to ask but would hope a reputable company would look out for my interests as well, treat me fairly, and present options to reduce cost. As you can imagine, I will never use Central Park Imaging again after this the treatment and up charging. Also found it funny that when I called another radiology location on 6-27 to schedule my next six-month brain MRI, she immediately said oh UnitedHealthcare is gouging everyone, and she'd recommend using their self-pay rate of $450 with contrast vs. paying them the $1,200 like Central Park Imaging charged because of UnitedHealthcare. I get it that Central Park Imaging is in the business to make money but gouging me for an extra $600+ seems quite unfair and borders on ridiculous. How about helping look out for the little guy here that can't afford these obviously inflated up charge rates just because they can. Well, that's my two cents. I'm still out an extra $600 bucks but at least got my thoughts and frustrations off my chest a little. Having cancer is tough enough without having to deal with these types of situations. read more

My son's doctor recommended he get an MRI last week on his brain. It's a pretty scary situation when your child is going to have to go through something like that. So I called Central Park Imaging to see if they could get him in. They got us on the schedule the next day, less than 24 hours from my call, WOW! They took down our insurance info and said they would call back when it was approved. I bet it was not 45 minutes before I got a call back letting me know it was covered. We went to the appointment the next day, the staff couldn't have been nicer. They answered all our questions and put my son at ease (not that easy when you're going to be in a MRI tube for 45 min). Testing went smoothly and he wasn't freaked out by the machine, huge blessing. read more

Good news: Staff is friendly, engaged, personable, competent, as efficient as surroundings permit with one egregious exception I'll mention. Waiting room is tolerable; enough padded chairs that the wooden benches probably don't cause too much suffering. No water cooler but when I asked about a water fountain Claudia brought me a cup of water. Medical equipment seems good and well-maintained; X-ray tech was friendly, charming and very competent. Bad news: front office is as horrifyingly anachronistic and negligent as a wooden bowl full of chipped flint and sharpened bone tools; raised the hair on the back of my neck. Examples? CPIC closed with zero notice on Friday; not on the IVR, NOT ON THE DOOR. Half a dozen of us waited from ~9:50 to 10:10 a.m. hoping they were just opening late. The lack of note on the door has been stupidly negligent for a century; the IVR for as long as answering machines have been in common use. I checked for a website but they don't have one! No posted hours on IVR or door. Front office has fax, copier, shredder, huge cases of files in manila folders, paper everywhere, a dozen stacked inboxes... easily replaced by cloud storage, a scanner and iPads or other tablets. Cute little Visa scanner printed out a paper receipt for Claudia to tuck into my manila folder, no kidding. read more

Appointment was scheduled for 1:00 pm and was told that it would take 30 mins tops. Came in before the appointment time and was not called back til an hour later because the person before me was late getting to her appointment. It took a total of 3 hours to get in and get out. The front staff is scattered. They are taking work calls from patients and placing them on hold to take personal calls. Then when brought back, after 20 mins in the machine. They said there wasn't a good reading and had to start all over. Not a good experience at all. read more

I'm very surprised at the low rating this business is getting. I was a patient here a few months ago and everyone was very compassionate and helpful. The Dr was a little nerdy, but I prefer my doctors nerdy (and intelligent and book smart...). The front office even asked if I needed a sedative when they were setting up my appointment. They handled everything from setting up my appointment to filing my insurance with the highest of professionalism and compassion. They even sent me a refund of the overage on the insurance deductible they had estimated. If you plan to have MRI, take advantage of the sedative because the only hard part is lying still for 30 minutes. read more

I'm an RN, I've worked everything from ER to OR, and I think this place is fantastic. They answered all my questions, even the very specific 'nurse family member' inquiries, double checked what needed to happen with radiologists before we arrived, helped me figure out what pricing would be for scans, and remembered me throughout the scheduling process. One day I even called back to confirm a detail and someone in the background of the office heard the receptionist talking to me, said "Hey, is that Emma?" and jumped on the phone with an update. It was so nice and so personal. The owner greeted us by name when we came in for our appointment, and made me feel totally comfortable. Usually I'm a total hover nurse, but they were great. Finding the place was easy and parking was fine early in the morning. Hopefully we don't have a lot of radiological studies in our future, but if anything comes up I would absolutely go here. read more

They truly CARE and you FEEL it from the first moment you're on the phone with them. .My doctor wanted me to go have a quick CT scan during an appointment last week, and despite disparately wanting to know what was causing my headaches over the last 2 weeks my first thought was "how much is this going to cost" as I have a very high deductible and knew the cost was going to be all out of pocket. While my doctor office started the process of pre-authorizing the scan with my insurance and scheduling my appointment with their "Preferred Partner" I hurried back to my office to check out my options. There are a lot of choices out there so started calling around and checked 4 of the imaging centers near my office to verify their cash price for the scan. I was surprised by the prices from low to high but also the amount of time it took 2 of the centers to calculate the cost. When I call Central Park the staff member that I spoke to was very friendly and prompt with the cash price for the scan and was the only center that I called that actually took the time to inquire what problem I was having. The price was the most reasonable of the centers I contacted and after a follow up call about an hour later they even arranged to squeeze me in between to 2 other appointments so that my doctor could get the results of the scan the following day. The staff was very nice and the tech that handled my scan was very helpful and answered all of my questions. The bigger problem was that I just got an bill in the mail for an extra $300 months after I received and paid for the service because they made " a mistake" estimating the cost. I had an appointment set at ARA for multiple MRIs. I had a couple weeks until my appointment so I decided to call around and see if I could get better pricing at other imaging centers in town as my dr told me to "shop around"...... when calling Central Park I was fortunate enough to speak with a gal named Starr .... she was friendly, calm, and super professional.... I asked her a ton of questions -- as I'm new to all this-- and she was extremely patient and knowledgeable .... I felt as if I was in competent hands ....What a breath of fresh air ! Central Park's pricing was waaay above ARA's ---I guess they consider themselves a boutique type center--anyway pricing aside Starr whooood me so much I canceled my appointment with ARA and decided to go with Central Park and pay the extra money.... I thought my health and comfort are worth paying a little extra (turned out I was wrong with these gigantic bills they continue to throw at me). When the time came for my appointment & I walked in, I was greeted by a welcoming, poised & calm blonde lady named Starr.... This is EXACTLY the type of person you want to see greet you when you're not feeling well, you're already anxious and don't know what to expect & you have an appointment at a medical office. After the fact, sadly, I've had too many issues with their billing company to even begin to describe the headache & grief they have caused. But as far as Starr goes, this company needs to clone her and give her a raise! I have owned many businesses in Austin and it's so tough-- if not impossible--to find dedicated loyal professional employees such as this.... as of now I've sold them all off, however if I hadn't I would have recruited her to come work for me in a second..... Central park would be just another expensive medical office without that superStarr! Central park imaging don't ever let her go....she's the BEST thing you've got going for your center ! PS ...make sure to bring plenty of cash for the parking garage as it can be $7-$10 and it's the only place Central Park patients are permitted to park; they don't take cards-- only cash :( read more

This review is only for a phone conversation to gather information and I felt that they did not answer my questions. The questions I asked were if they were in or out of network for my insurance company (they could answer that question), What the code(s) are for bi lateral breast MRI with contrast is (they would not answer that), What their tax ID or the code number they use to give the insurance company so I can find out what their negotiated rate with my insurance company (they would not answer that question), I did not ask the age and type of MRI machine. Because they could not answer those questions does not mean that I would never gather the information, should I choose their services. The MRI machine they have only does implant ruptures and will not work for me. read more

The Mamo tech was great and seemed competent - so was all the staff. However, when I learned I needed a follow up Ultrasound, I chose to change providers. During the Mamo I had seen that the ultrasound equipment looked very old. The Monitor showed that the last software update was in 2001. I worry that this office is not using up to date equipment. How can I get the best diagnosis if the equipment is not kept up to date? Staff gets an A. Owners get a D-. read more

The staff at Central Park Imaging was very friendly and professional. The facility is on the first floor and is modern and clean. I really like the Central Park location near Central Market. It's conveniently "mid town" and I can avoid traffic hassles. Parking was not an issue for me. There's plenty of free parking if you don't mind walking a few steps.
