Their door says open at 7am vs Google maps sites that have 8, so I arrived about 5 minutes before the appointment at 8. Got into the back a bit late, with everything else going as planned. Joan way my technician and she was so pleasant and friendly. Made the process less stressful and efficient. She gave clear directions and only had to redo one item. The changing rooms were nice with and according style door with magnets so it's not just a sheet covering the opening like other places. Absolutely the worst company in Austin. had an appointment for a brain scan scheduled 6 days out after my dr placed an expedited order. They said that was the soonest they could get me in. Mind you, this is a brain scan to see if my brain may be bleeding and causing my 15 day fever. They just called to say they overbooked my appointment and the soonest they could get me in was in 3 week. I could be dead by then so I told them to cancel. Going to pay extra for the ER I guess. Again, go with another imaging company if you can; they are absolutely the worst and don't give a crap about their patients. read more

I asked for the first available appointment for my infant, they found one 3 weeks out. 2 weeks later I got several call and voice mails from their Indian call center that was really hard to understand. I got in touch with them and the original appointment was made at a location that doesn't treat infants. I was rescheduled another 3 weeks out (5 weeks from when I first called). I'd like to offer a positive review but I just can't. After my referral from my PCP it took three weeks to get in, once in a waited for 30 mins in the lobby before they told me they'd be canceling my MRI. Here I am two more weeks later waiting for the same thing. The outsourced call center informed me I was on a "waiting list" and never heard a thing. The online, self-service scheduling system didn't even have my referral available, I had to call the office and have them reinstate it so I could schedule myself... again. I'd like to say the people seem helpful and genuine at the location but I had a poor experience that's resulted in a worsening condition. read more

Try to get an appointment with ARA has always been a challenge. The 'out of country' agents are poorly trained by ARA and you have to wait a minimum of 20 minutes to actually speak to a live person. Availability for appointments depends on who you speak with at ARA. Also, you need to ensure that the facility you are told to go to actually does what you need. I have experienced having an appointment at one facility but later finding out that that facility does not perform the imaging (MRI) which was needed. Once you are there, the people are friendly and professional. read more

I have stopped using ARA. The scheduling system is horrible. They have outsourced scheduling and workers do not understand the geography of the Austin area. In the past, it was very easy to get a timely appointment. Now appointments are two months out for routine exams. These changes are so disappointing. I have switched to Longhorn Imaging. Schedule is easy and helpful. Workers are courteous and respectful. Appointments are readily available. Everything I used to expect from ARA...which is no longer found at this company. read more

I drove all the way from Kyle after waiting a month for availability, upon arrival they said I can't get it done bc I had my infant son w me. they said he's not allowed in, even if he stayed in his car seat and he's not allowed In the waiting room unless he's over 10. no one let me know this, also they outsource they're appointment coordinators to India and you can't understand them and she didn't let me know this rule. never going back. read more

UPDATE: BILLING FRAUD Inquired about my copay (medicare) for this xray, employee looked up code and stated to me "there would be no copay" on my way out i asked if i have to stop by the cashier, employee stated "No, you're all taken care of" Now I receive a $40 amount due for a co-pay that i was promised i would be charged for by ARA... **** Make sure when you leave and not pay anything to speak with a Manager and have him/her write "amount due" before you leave **** Need an Spinal X-Ray GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!! Equipment needs repair and so do the employees ! First the "Check in" Gentleman (who worked 7/12/2021 at 10am), who was in "charge" of the covid parked checking callback needs training.. When he called me, he was doing something else in the background I said hello 4 times (like a dope), then hung up. Very rude, giving me push back and "attitude" when i checked in... If you have a task to do, you need to focus on that task, not treat it with a laissez-faire attitude. The call came in as "UNKNOWN" number should be released, some have "Unknown callers blocked" Second and most important X-Ray Machines.... They are very very very weak and in dire need of SEVERE repair, especially the vertical machine, took 4 side profiles and could not come up with a clear picture, never had any issues at my surgeon's office or St Davids hospital... THIS IS THE SERVICE YOU PROVIDE... X-RAYS AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO PERFORM THIS?? Had to transfer to the horizontal x-ray table with a fresh back fusion where i had to twist it to get on my side, either that or skip the x-ray... Lastly, the "Automatic Handicap Door" switch, needs repair, does not open, in fact all doors need to be worked on very old and dilapidated. This is my first time going to this place for a Pelvic and Abdominal MRI. When I arrived, the receptionist was really nice. I had thought my insurance was going to take care of the bill but the receptionist explained the bill and I was able to make a first payment and then they put me on a payment plan. She answered all of my questions. I was called in quickly to the back. The phlebotomist was my favorite person He was the sweetest old man ever and he made me laugh and feel comfortable. He had to put an IV in my arm for the type of MRI I had to do and I personally don't like needles! He was very patient and understanding. I have small veins so it was a bit difficult for him to find a vein but he found one and was able to put the IV in and then I went to the X-ray room for the MRI. When i went back to go change, he made my day when he said I had a very beautiful smile It was my first time there and I had a great experience! Went in for a STAT MRI today. There were some issues at checkin with my paperwork, but the receptionist fixed it up quickly. I would leave zero stars if I could. They are crooks! I was told my out-of-pocket portion was $680, which I paid. After contacting my insurance company, I was told my portion was zero. ARA said they had to receive the EOB before they could refund my money. 30 days and four phone calls later, I still have not received a refund. read more

The employees doing the procedures are wonderful. However, their billing is horrible! I had 2 procedures done on one day. The first one was a procedure not covered by insurance which I knew about and had planned to pay in full. The second one was covered by insurance with a hefty patient portion. That one I told the front desk that I would make payments on. When I received my bill, it was not transparent where the payment I made for the first procedure went. I called billing and they explained that the payment I thought was going to the first procedure, went to the second procedure to pay for line items that were not listed on the bill. It took the person a long time to explain what had happen because any payments made do not indicate where it is being applied. After I complained about the bill, the next month I was reported to a delinquency company without any notice to me. The delinquency company had been calling, but I thought it was a scam. This could have been avoided with better communication and transparency from billing! read more

The receptionist was so kind, helpful and made pleasant conversation when I arrived at 6am. I was called in pretty quickly so she's definitely amazing at time management from her part. As well as the Radiologic technologists whom assisted me. She was extremely professional, kind, attentive and was full of positive energy which transmitted to me and made this procedure so much easier, and quicker. I told him I was going to be in the day before to pick it up, but wasn't able to make it. When I walked in today, they were already printed and sealed in an envelope! My doctor gave me a diagnostic testing script to get scheduled. I called and was able to make an appointment the same day. I was not able to do the same day but I was able to come in the next day. Check in was super easy for my test. I filled out the paperwork and went back for my test within 10 mins. The technician was friendly and explained the exam. I am still waiting on my results so not sure the exact timeline on that. I told him I was very nervous and that the last MRI that I had I almost jumped out so he knew I was very nervous, but Joel made me feel comfortable he was very patient with me I could tell he loved his job . Then a paramedic came in name Gerrod. He went over my medical history and did my IV. Gerrod made me feel comfortable and he offered to stay in the room and talk to me . I recently found a lump in my breast and called my MD's office and the Austin Regional Clinic on Brodie recommended the closest Austin Radiological Association just down the street to get a Mammogram. Their website is great I could have made an appointment and payed without ever talking to anyone and also quickly received my test results via their website. I actually called in my appointment because I had lots of questions that were expertly answered and I received my test results back in exactly a week (5- 10 days was the expected wait period). The technician who did my Mammogram was very sweet and patient. I will not try and make it funny like the talented comedian Kimberly K. did with her Mammogram review because it was not funny and it sucked and it hurt and my results came back with a tumor in my right breast. The new building is very clean and I was able to get an appointment within 4 days of calling - this place just might have saved my right Boob! read more

The technician wanted to discuss the issue in the lobby. She was rude, aggressive and according to her an expert on ADA law. I waited for four hours to be told that my appointment was cancelled. I advised ARA of my service dog three months ago when the appointment was made. I will advocate for my service dog because she takes care of me. Look for another radiologist. read more

I was on my way to have a scan (nervous enough), and I got a flat tire over 90 minutes away....I called them to see if I could be late and explained about my flat tire and waiting for the repair truck. They literallyl told me to not stress or worry, the tire was stressful enough, to drive safely and get there when I could, they'd find a way to fit me it. This is my preferred place to get my annual mammogram, and I've consistently found this office to be professional, efficient, and friendly. I can't speak to the billing issues, but the patient experience at the time of the test has been spot on. And at this location they don't put all the women in gowns and make them sit together and wait as at other locations. You are treated like an individual and a person. Well done. read more

Daddy is gettin old. Things are starting to crack, creak, and crunch, kind of like an old tired set for a Broadway stage. It looks good to the audience, but the works just ain't there no mo- Doc sent me to ARA to get a knee x-rayed and MRIed on two separate occasions within a week. I found the staff to be pleasant, professional, organized, and apt at their jobs. From front desk attendant to radiology technician, it was all very smooth and sincere. The equipment the location uses seem very current, clean and professional. No issues with insurance questions. Not even a front end co-pay. They just go through the insurance company and contact you later if you owe a balance. (I may change my review when I get that little piece of paper in the mail, but for now, let's focus on the services.) If you are a Southy, this is a great location on William Canon between West Gate and Manachaca. If you are a public transportation user, it's a short walk from the #338 - very convenient. If I wanted to return to this business, I would because they are great, but let's hope I don't have to. read more

I went in to get an Xray. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly and the visit did not take long. The Xray facilities seemed clean and modern and after making a request, they gave me a CD of the Xrays on my way out. I would have given five stars but have subtracted one star because of billing. I went in, asked for the cash rate for the Xray and paid in full at the visit. A couple of weeks later, I got a bill asking for more money. When I called the billing office, they adjusted the balance back to zero, but it should not have been necessary for me to have to waste my time calling them. i have white coat syndrome and was horrified for my first MRI of my brain. i was so lucky to be seen here. the woman who brought me back immediately knew i wasn't okay and was hugging me while i cried in her arms with fear. i'm 25 and needed my mom, but she isn't in state so i had to go alone. i couldn't have asked for better help. they made me so comfortable and made the MRI go by so fast and easy. i am lucky that all my results were normal, but i was really scared they were going to find something. Shannon was such an incredibly kind technician--she made an awkward, uncomfortable procedure playful and interesting, without sacrificing on letting me know exactly what was to come. I have used ARA on William Cannon many times. I always feel respected by the radiology staff. Once I even had to bring my granddaughter unexpectedly and was afraid they would make me cancel. She was old enough to play with her Leap pad and my phone and they let her stay in a nearby room with the door open so they could keep on eye on her for me. She was a perfect angel. They're staff didn't seem to mind at all especially since her mom was sick which was why grandmother had her. Without exception I am treated with dignity, empathy and respect. Absolute amateurs. I had an appointment scheduled on 1/28. I received a phone call from them Monday January 25 saying there was an issue with my insurance. I called them back (as I was at work) and gave them all the information they needed to confirm approval from my insurance company. The person I talked to assured me they would let me know if they were still having issues... I received a message on Wednesday January 27 confirming my appointment. Another message on January 28, the day of my appointment with the necessary check in procedures for my appointment. After completing the questionnaire required for checking in, they called me into the office. It was then I found out that apparently nobody was doing their job. I was told that there was no approval for my insurance. But nobody bothered to contact me personally to inform me of that. Needless to say, after taking off from work and not eating for the day, I was expecting to see the doctor. I got an apology from the nice lady at the front door, but nobody in the office would bother to come and speak to me. I hope all a ARA diagnostics Locations are not as incompetent as this one. read more

I'd rather say I have never been here, so I don't need to write a review, but... well... trailing off now... Austin Radiological Association is fantastic. I've been here a couple few times for testing. "I's gots stricken" with the osteoporosis, and so I have to get regular bone density exams. The employees are always so kind, and the ladies that have done my bone scans always lighten the mood. It's tough to be in your early 30s and have this old lady disease. No, in case you are wondering, I do not have giant hump on my back or anything, but I do have weak and brittle bones that can snap when the wind blows. I am usually uncomfortable when I arrive, and make bad jokes about my bones to the nurse ladies, and they always make jokes back, and we laugh, and it makes the whole procedure better. Results come back quite quickly, in about a week or so. The place is immaculate and ARA has super cool looking equipment. That's a plus for me, since I am so nervous coming here. It's fun to check out all the new high tech stuff. So, thank you, ARA for helping me and my dusty bones feel at ease. read more
