Austin Vein Institute - Dr. Christopher W. Brennig voted One of Austin's Top Physicians by Austin Monthly magazine 2013 (Specialty - Vascular Surgery)

A seriously credible vein surgeon…read more He is honest. He listens. If his recommedation is different than yours he will take as long as you need to explain the choices available to you. You only do what he says after you have considered all of the other options and decided to follow his plan. Side options will always be on the menu - and you will always have alternative choices available. * * * My leg was not standard and it posed major obstacles under the skin. The veins were all convoluted like balls of yarn. It was hard for the doctor to get to where he had to make his changes. Other veins got worked into the deal getting treatments that paralleled those happening in the main operation. Other views were blocking the view and blocking the operation making the procedure complicated and painful The anaesthesioligst who was Dr Brenner himself had to put anaesthesia is some unexpected places. They coundn't get everything frozen or sleepy like they wantd to. So that procedure was far more painful than normal and far more painful than expected. All of the other operations have been normal making them both comfortable and effective. Veins were located in the right place and they did what they were told. So I had three operations on my right leg and a fourth is planned to finish old business. Results: The operation is meant to treat edema. The swellling and adema have gone down much more slowly that would be the case in a normal operiation. The known normal operations have generally had the desired results. My leg that was NOT operated on has also shown improvement That could mean none of my operations did anything However, I am getting fatter and that could make things worse in both legs. So I am inclined to give Dr Brenning credit for the changes in both legs. When the body feels fluid flowing differently in one part of the body, it can steer other parts to make the same innovation. * * * All in all, my operations have been of mixed effectiveness ... But I think Dr Brenner is fine. I think my legs are messy, weird and make it hard for him to work. I see clear and unquestionable signs of improvement. My rate of improvement is slower than what you get in the text books. My read would be if Brenner can get good results with a mess like me - he should be able to do good things for you too. And he does give you choices. You will know what you are choosing an what will happen. Most people are normal and most should have simple wonderful good results under his care.

I am a new patient to Dr. Brennig and went in to get my varicose veins checked out. Both legs the…read moreveins were bulging, pretty good and one leg the foot looked discolored to me. I have gone through two procedures with the doctor the first one was on the lane with the discolored foot and the procedure really helped with the discoloration and the fatigue I was filling in my leg. I went in today for some additional work on the lower part of that leg. I can't wait to do the next leg. Looking back I should've done this a long time ago. Tom Guedea

Too often, doctors seemed to make a bedside diagnosis first and then interpret everything afterward through that original theory. Dr. Geck stood out immediately because he did something that should be ordinary but, in our experience, was not: he treated my daughter like any other patient whose symptoms deserved to be investigated. He ordered significant testing, continued looking when the answers were not obvious, and made it clear that he did not want her to remain in pain without understanding why. His thought process was also notably similar to the physicians we encountered at Cleveland Clinic--careful, evidence-based, and willing to consider the complexity of the entire clinical picture. Dr. Geck is well known in our area for performing emergency and complex spinal surgery. That kind of work requires far more than technical surgical skill. It requires the ability to assess a patient quickly, recognize what matters among competing findings, and make difficult decisions in high-risk situations. As the mother of a daughter with significant disabilities, I will always remember Dr. Geck as one of the physicians who treated her with genuine dignity. Her imaging was difficult and her case was complicated, but he did not dismiss her because of that complexity. He remained committed to trying to understand what was happening and to finding a way to help her.

NO CALL BACK. At this point, one has to believe it is intentional. Charlie W. also claims in their replies to bad Yelp reviews that you can call them. Alas, the extension does not exist.
