My experiences at this location were great. I had to go back a second time a week later in order to get my veins checked (one time, intracranial and another time, extracranial scans), but because everybody was so friendly at this location and because it went rather quickly, it was no problem. They were also punctual both times -- early, actually! The front desk women were very kind, helpful, and efficient. After my name was called, it continued to be an efficient process. Special props to Amy for being so sweet, accommodating, and professional! I was happy to see her again when I returned! And thanks for the nice tunes - they helped! ;) Stephen (/Steven?) and Dave (David?) were also both very friendly and funny, and made the experience all the more painless. When I have requested other MRI reports at ARA in Austin, I received them within an hour (!), so A+ there, too! Thank you! P.S. If you have your paperwork and an appointment this place is a gem. If things are not in order then it can be a problem. Everyone I have ever met here is nice. I have had Xrays and Ultra sounds done here for myself and my family. Results are quick as well. It is is in the Westlake hospital complex so parking can be a bit of a mess but it is free and the complex has a golf cart guy if you have to park really far away. When I am asked where I want my Xrays I always say ARA as this place is so close to me. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST AND ALL THE ARA LOCATIONS. IT COULD POTENTIALLY RUIN YOUR CREDIT SCORE. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE at communicating. They sent my bill to the wrong address and did not reach out via email or phone to notify me I had an outstanding balance. They also failed to notify me of the outstanding bill at a visit after the initial visit. I discussed this issue with billing to pay the bill in full since it was a clerical error on their part. They confirmed it was a billing department mistake and ARA failed to contact me via phone or email about the balance. However, since they already sent the bill to a collection agency they refused to do anything about it. After several phone calls and getting nowhere with ARA, I was able to rectify the situation with the collection agency without it affecting my credit score. I provided evidence which ARA did provide verifying they sent three notices to the wrong address and failed to contact me via phone or email. Also, I did verify my address with a state issued id with the receptionist and on the patient iPad at the time of the visit. How they managed to send the bill to the wrong address is beyond me. was told by three different people who work for the clinic to arrive by 4:30 to be seen. my girlfriend being super stressed arrived on time but once she entered the door was met by the office lady named Karen who was extremely rude and basically conveyed by the time she gathered her paperwork it would not be time enough. she stated it was 4:31 when in reality it had just switched. clearly doesn't want to do her job and clearly does not care about patients who are going through challenging times. read more

My experience at the Westlake location was horrific. I was scheduled for a breast biopsy. During the procedure, the physician, Stephen Agatston, exclaimed "Oh, Good Lord!" and hurriedly gave directions to the ultrasound tech. Neither the tech or doctor gave any explanation for such a sudden, alarming outburst. I had to ask at the end of the procedure if something went wrong and the doctor just brushed it off. The experience lacked professionalism. I was immediately sent to do a follow-up mammogram. I explained to that technician that my skin was sensitive under my breast and had been torn during other mammograms. I asked to help place my breast, and was rudely cut off and told I couldn't. The tech did not acknowledge my concerns or reassure me that she would go slow, be gentle, and communicate with me during the process. Instead, she handled me roughly and silently. I came to find out that the ultrasound technician did not correctly identify the area that was instructed to be biopsied, leading to an incorrect biopsy being performed. Upon mammogram review after the biopsy, the team realized their medical error and worked frantically to cover it up. They were scurrying, whispering, and panicking. The tech left me undraped lying on the table and when she returned, was with the male doctor. Rather than ensuring I was draped in order to maintain my dignity, they gruffly told me to sit up and continued standing over me while delivering news that I would need a second biopsy. There was no tenderness in the communication, and it was obvious that the physician was lying about what really happened. It's a simple message, but the team chose to deliver a convoluted, inconsistent "explanation" in what appeared to be an attempt to protect them. They stated nothing was done wrong, but it was. They didn't biopsy the correct spot. They had me get dressed and let me leave without an ice pack or ensuring they reviewed care steps. By all appearances, this was malpractice and the staff at Westlake lied to cover it up. I provided this feedback and my experience directly with the location, and they've done nothing about it. read more

Just completed my annual mammo and bone density scan at ARA Westlake, and feel very well cared for! The parking in that medical center is sometimes difficult, but not today - I found a spot right in front! Check-in is all on an iPad now, and it's fast and easy. I experienced mimimal / reasonable wait time in the spacious waiting room. My techs were wonderful and my mammo was completely painless, unlike some previous ones I've had. There were plenty of dressing rooms, and I was in and out in no time. read more

What a great experience with ARA. Check in was a breeze. They send you a text on your smartphone to answer questions about Covid. You answer these questions while you're in the parking lot. You are required to wear a mask when entering. You give proper distance for privacy with other patients. I was called to the counter and gave my paperwork to the receptionist. Super quick and easy. Within minutes I was called to go to the back and have my ultrasound done. Very respectful when getting undressed. My tech was Tyler, and he was very respectful, calm, professional, just a very soft tone mannerisms. When we were done I checked out and paid. I got my results back the next day via email. Highly recommend ARA. The Cedar Park location is wonderful. Also the Westlake location as well. read more

This review is for the scheduling department, not the in person staff. Needed to schedule an x-ray and MRI for my child. Had to schedule them as two different appointments due to ARA rules. When I called to schedule the appointments, they asked me to read all the info from the order over the phone. So I spent 20 minutes spelling the doctors' name, giving the doctor's address, and spelling out the diagnostic codes. They asked me to do it for each test even though both tests were ordered by the same doctor. I figured annoying but worth it - now we are all set for our appointment. Upon arrival, we were informed that we could not be treated because I did not have the piece of paper that includes the doctor's signature. No one mentioned this before hand. If they need the piece of paper with the doctor's signature - which also has the doctor's name, address, and all the diagnostic codes - all the info I spent 20 min giving over the phone - why not just have me send them a picture of it at the start of this scheduling process? Why have me spend 20 minutes spelling things on the phone? We spent over an hour driving there, being told we can't be seen, driving home to get the piece of paper, and driving back. But by then we were out of time and I had to return my child to school. I have now invested 1 hour and 20 minutes in this process and have yet to have any tests completed. This operation is inefficient and callous with customer time. Shame on them. read more

I have no problem with services I receive at ARA. The problem is scheduling an appointment with ARA is like watching grass grow, you wait and wait and wait and nothing happens. My Doctor sent a stat order for an MRI for severe spinal stenosis. I waited 2 days with no call from ARA to schedule. I call my Doctor who sent a second STAT request with no response. Glad the MRI wasn't for something life threatening, I just had to suffer severe pain, because ARA couldn't take the time to make a phone call to schedule an appointment as requested. Since ARA didn't call me I called them and was told my order wasn't stat, so could only give me the next available appointment, although I was on the phone with my Doctor's office when they faxed the order the second time and told me if ARA didn't call me within an hour that I should call ARA. My Doctor wanted to operate the following week, but due to ARA scheduling I have to wait another week for the MRI, which will push my surgery out 2 weeks instead of just 1 week. I am sure I will enjoy waiting in pain for another 2 weeks due to ARA's inefficiency. read more

I had some good and some bad experiances. The pros was I got my yearly physical and a routine check on a mammogram and bone density. The Ara clerk made my apt and got it incorrect the lady who my tech said they didnt know a certain procedure would be done because the apt made was done wrong. So far took longer for that reason. The tech did her best to instruct me during my mammogram. All i can say is my experiance this time was different than the rest. In the past my techs were serious not talking never smile but today the bone desity imaging tech was very nice and made a scary situation into a nice experiance. Until next year I will do an update to see if anything is different and post my latest review. read more

Getting an MRI is not like life on a tour bus in that I did not have a guy's smelly sock in my face. *The song and album's title supposedly came after a reporter asked band members if they could describe what life was like being constantly on tour. Angus replied that it was "a fucking highway to hell". He stated in the magazine Guitar World that when you are out on the road on a bus sleeping with a guy's smelly sock in your face, it's like you're on the highway to hell. However, rumours circulated that the band members were Satanists and the cover of the album named after the song, depicting Angus with devil horns and tail, added fuel to the fire. It may not always feel like it and granted, sometimes it's just easier to go with whomever your Dr. recommends but you ALWAYS have a choice. That said, for me and everyone I remotely care about I will forever preach from the rooftops that ARA is a frustratingly sad excuse for a business. I went in for my first mammogram because my GP and I both had concerns about a lump. The results of the mammogram were not favorable so in the same visit I was told I needed an ultrasound by the technician. In this moment, I was somewhat scared but more so concerned because of the pain I was in. The technician, not the Dr., came in after-the-fact and as she immediately started cleaning the room around me, me still in my gown, she said 'that I'm good, it was just fibrous tissue, nothing they can do about it.' [Pause] I asked if the doctor was coming in to discuss the scan and diagnosis, and this is the part that infuriated me- The tech said 'no, if it's not cancer, you're good.' How nice to get to sit on your ass and not be bothered unless there's a dying patient that can pay your bills. To that point, I received NO invoice, no email, no text/call about a bill. I had checked my insurance the week after to ensure there was enough time for any billing codes to post to my insurance from ARA. Nothing. But guess what came in the mail today? A collection notice for $417 for the ultrasound, one which I was just taken into, didn't ask for, and didn't even get to talk about with any Dr. I could have paid this bill on time; that's not the problem. To receive a COLLECTION NOTICE with NOTHING from ARA to begin with is beyond incompetent. They say they sent an invoice. I asked for a copy. I'm still waiting. You ALWAYS have a choice, people, and you deserve better. read more

Based on my experience on the day of my appointment, I would've given 4 stars. However, the AWFUL experience came after my appointment. I never got any final bill for the appointment. I had already paid a good amount on the day of my appointment, so I thought with insurance my bill was settled and was good to go. Over 6 months later, I get a letter from a collections agency that I still owed some money. I was shocked but of course paid it immediately. Well, because they sent the remaining balance to collections this now has hit my credit!!! This will now stay on my credit for years!! Nobody even had the decency from the office to just simply pick a phone to tell me there was an outstanding balance. If they had, I could've settled that out immediately. I've searched through all my emails and have not received a single notice about this. I also did not receive anything in the mail. I wish there was more thought and care in this process. read more

I am thankful that ARA has a Service Excellence Department. I was not made aware of this during my two calls to their billing department. After my above posting, I talked with Indica in their Service Excellence Dept. and she took the time to visit with me regarding their investigation. I am thankful that it has been resolved to all parties satisfaction. I gave them Four Stars for all of their effort to make things right. A very bad experience at the ARA Westlake location on 07/03/20. Had to take my wife to ARA (Westlake) for Imaging mid afternoon and had great difficulty opening the entrance doors as my wife was in a wheel chair and I use a cane (we are both in our 80's). While trying to enter I called out to two young women seated at a table about 20 ft away to help. They would not even glance our way or come to help. When I finally approached them (they were screeners for Covid-19) I asked them why didn't help us. One of them immediately got up and got a young male (20's - 30's) who came up to me face to face no more than 2 ft away and asked if I was having trouble. He was very angry that I had questioned the two young ladies at the desk and he had vented for a couple of minutes returned to the ARA office. After completing the covid19 questions we were admitted to the ARA offices where we were treated in the usual professional manner by the staff. After completing the Imaging a ARA staff member assisted us to our car in a very professional and caring manner. The front doors are definitely NOT ADA Compliant! read more

I have only good things to say about ARA Westlake. I had a number of diagnostics completed at this location and therefore dealt with several techs, paramedics (that is what they are called there), a radiologist, and the doctor who did the biopsies. From the moment I entered until the time I left, I was treated with care. From the warm luxurious hotel type robe to the careful explanations about the procedures, I experienced ARA as a positive, caring, professional, and thorough facility. Be careful of this place. They told me on the phone that they cleared the test with Medicare but when I arrived for my appointment they gave me a big bill and then told me I'd have to call Medicare myself to get approval. I never had that happen before. I did call Medicare. They said they pay for the tests but could not find ARA in their database. I did not have the tests done that I needed because the front desk staff told me they have no way to know if Medicare will pay and Do not have the option Of submitting to my secondary insurance. I have never had a procedure done that the billing dept hadn't already checked with Medicare and checked the fee. Not sure what's up this facility. read more

This was my second MRI. During the first one (at another business), I felt air circulating, I could still see the room, and the tech said things like, "Are you doing OK?" or "You're doing great; we're halfway done." or "I'm right here. Everything is going great." BUT for this MRI at Westlake, I was in what felt like a plastic box with small cage over my face (envision a baseball catcher's mask), no air circulating, and NO tech saying a word except, "OK, 5 more minutes. Are you alright?" "I'm not happy, but....." I said. NO REPLY. Not an "I hear ya. Hang in there." Nothing. The space was small and tubular so that my arms were pinned to my side and my face was a few inches from the "ceiling" of the plastic tube. Also, the intermittent noises were LOUD on both sides of me, and the earphones tuned to 95.5 did nothing to squelch the loud booms. An additional feature adding to the discomfort was the heavy vibration of my little space capsule (i.e., "coffin"...yeah, my brain went there). I feel sorry for the people living through the "horse and buggy" days. Don't go here for an MRI. 15-20 minutes seemed like forever with no compassion shown, no reassurance, no contact until it was almost over. I have had five babies, 3 with no drugs, so I am a strong lady, but this was like being put through a bit of torture. My children and I have all experienced better....much better elsewhere. Never again. In the future, should I need an MRI, I will RESEARCH first for a facility that uses Open MRI or at least one with a NEWER machine with a LARGER opening....and they DO exist, and they're QUIETER and don't throw you around like a carnival ride (Ok, I exaggerate the movement; more like an obnoxious, vibrating hard slab---oh yeah, all spas have 'em, and people clamor to sign up.) OK, people. You've been WARNED. I wish I had been! XO read more

Awful experience! This is the absolute worst place to get a mammogram, horrifying and very unprofessional. Stay away from this place. My daughter, under the age of 25, had to have a sonogram and a mammogram. We were there from 8:45- 11:45. While waiting for the mammogram, in a small waiting area, a tech came and asked me to get up and go to another area so another patient could have my seat. Couldn't the tech realize that my daughter was young and frightened? How about bringing an extra seat in the room? How about showing a little bit of compassion? I wish I could say that was the worst part of our experience but that is not the case. There was a concern with my daughter's mammogram and the way it was handled was unprofessional and very upsetting. Enough said. read more

Located right off 360, left side of Bee Caves, first light. It's busy so I suggest coming early, no kids, bring something to read or entertain because they don't have a great magazine selection, I came in at 3:45 pm and I'm still waiting!! Beware pre-paying for services. They overcharged me (not all their fault insurance assigned the deductible to someone else). Two months later I have yet to see the refund. Yes I did call them multiple times. No its not a small change. They over-billed me by over $1000. Other places refund automatically. Here I have to call and ask for the money in the first place, because they simply don't bother to check if they owe me anything. And them they take their sweet time. read more
