I used this company in North Carolina in 2005. No problems. Every year I get a letter letting me…read moreknow to do it again. Well, in 2021 I decided to do it again, only because my doctor told me it was not necessary to run these tests. I disagreed, so I called and set up the appointment. The reason I am posting here is that it appears to be the headquarters, Austin Texas, because my email said my results are on there way. Setting up appointment. Staff was pleasant. Tried to get me to sign up for additional tests but I declined because I basically had 99% of the tests done by my doctor. He quoted me a price that was $10 more than what was on my letter. I asked why and he said it was for the doctor to review and send me my results. Well, no where on the letter does it state that you have to pay this additional fee! I also said, my letter said I would get a $10 discount for being a previous client. He tried to get out of it, but I kept re-reading the statement on the letter. So I ended up paying the amount of what the amount said it would be in the letter. I think you need to correct your letter or state somewhere that there will be an additional fee for the doctor to read it and you should state if this is voluntary or not. Testing date: Appointment 12:30 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early. There were people in the waiting area but the seat to sign in was empty. I went and sat down and at 12:25 someone said, we will be with you soon. At 12:41 the man came up, took my info and took me directly into a room. This brings me to ten minutes past my appointment time. Not bad. He was not mean but I did not make me feel welcomed. No hello, how are you today, no smile, nada. Just the basic name, birth date...etc. There were two separate pieces of paper with a name, addresses and appointment time just laying out for anyone to see, so I suggested that he put them away or shred them, due to Hippa laws. He grabbed them and threw them in the trash. The first test was by the man that checked me in. The test was quick. Off to the next person, a lady with no bedside manner at all. She did her test and sent me to the chair where I waited for the next lady. Miss Margaret escorted me in within a minute. I have back issues and she gave me a pad to put under my knees. I would like to suggest that you have pillows at each station for people with bad backs. The first and second person did not have or offered to put anything under my knees. Miss Margaret was friendly, kind and I felt happy to be taking the test. All the nurses should be as kind and welcoming as Miss Margaret. I was done out the door at 1:08 PM. All in all it took 27 minutes from start to finish. Just a couple of improvements to get five stars. Test location: VFW Cedar Point, NC August 2021

Purely about money, not care. If you go, insist on receiving results immediately (they will just want money) and take them to a hospital or real physician. Seems to be for a lot of elderly who perhaps want to avoid real medical care. Don't waste your money.

It was…read morequite an ordeal and I'm not gonna pretend I remember every moment perfectly because I was being given IV pain medication. First of all... Donna, my ER nurse was amazing. She is so easy to talk to, personable, knowledgeable... and she can sure hit a vein! They once called her up to my hospital room to insert a new IV and I was thrilled to see her again! I've had previous experience with Donna and she's always wonderful. I had two doctors. My surgeon, Dr. Alex Santos, is amazing doctor! Performed a very difficult removal of a gallbladder the size of a baseball. Very attentive. The on-site doctor, Dr. Laney, is probably one of the most caring doctors I have ever encountered in a hospital. He was always nearby. Great bedside manner. You can tell this man truly loves helping people. My nurses were like superheroes. They did everything they could to make sure I was as comfortable as possible during a time when I was experiencing the worst pain of my life. I can't say enough. James handled my first (and most intense) night like a champion. He even had me doing breathing exercises with him. He was born to do what he does. I can't thank him enough! The other nurses were all wonderful with the exception of one! The last nurse I had, Dan, was the polar opposite of every other nurse. Dan was beyond rude. I fell that he chose the wrong profession. He did and said so many ugly things, I don't even have the energy to type it all! But he shouldn't be a nurse. I wouldn't even want that man making me a latte. For now I will assume Dan is gone, or he was having the worst day of his life, because so many other ppl here need 5 stars. But he would get 1. The woman who made my meals was also darling! She found out I was vegan and after a day... she had done her research and added things to the menu special just for me! Just above and beyond! But of all the staff, the one who holds my heart is the Tec, Curtis! Curtis was there for me through it all. He was kind, compassionate, witty, caring, and he was ahead of everything that was happening. Always making sure I had what I needed and was doing what I needed to do. He even helped me walk the halls during recovery. I will miss him dearly and hope I can somehow thank him for being there with me through something so difficult. Thank you Curtis! You're my MVP. And thank you to the entire staff (not Dan) for everything you did for me! I will only use this hospital from here on.

My name is Brenda Haas-Villalta. I had a 3 level spinal fusion- on April 12th of this year. Let me…read morestart by saying I have worked in the medical field for 20 years as a nursing assistant. I become very ill 2 years ago and developed a idiopathic falling disorder to which I still suffer from. I also have a high pain tolerance. When I was 41 years of age, I broke my hip. It was non traumatic when it happened. Unbeknownst to me I had severe osteoporosis. My femoral hip broke just from standing up so fast. Then of course I fell to the ground. And had to have surgery. It had to be done ASAP in order to stop any chances of infection. The very next morning they had me walking up and down the hospital with a walker. It was like a walk in the park to me and I didn't even need extra pain medicine at that point. They use two plates two rods and 12 screws. My point for bringing this up is I have a very strong pain tolerance and for you to understand the rest of the story you can kind of gauge of where I'm coming from.when I had my 3 tier spinal fusion on April 12th that's when I was at the mercy of the hospital and a very poor nursing staff. Let me start by telling you, when I woke up from surgery I thought that I was just going to die. I couldn't believe the amount of pain I was in. Then I come out to find the nurses saying hold on will get you some pain medicine. Really people? Anytime I needed to use the bathroom or a bed pan it would take up to 30 minutes sometime for someone to come they always shut the door so nobody hears you. When I was done I would ring the button and nobody would come by the time it was over 20 minutes I was screaming crying and begging them not to ignore me to come help me. They came when they heard that. They treated me physically rough and had no sense of compassion whatsoever. The first night there I was scolded like a six-year-old because I brought my own medication to show them so they would know what I needed. They try to embarrass me and talk about each one of how many there was and write it down. I wasn't embarrassed every single thing I had was a prescription from a doctor. She asked the nurse next to her to sign it, and the nurse + why. And the older nurse said it's just procedure just sign it. That's when the bell started going off in my head. They had no idea that I was a medical professional of 20 years. They did not in-service any of the staff on how to gently move me or pivot me. That should've been a regulatory thing for them to do before trying to help me move. They did not do this. So every time they move me it was like agony every second. Then they would get annoyed because I couldn't get up fast enough for them and say things under their breath. The one time I had a bowel movement in my bed pan and I heard the nurses complaining and she was cursing saying I don't get paid enough shit to do this. Then on many occasions I heard the nurses arguing over who was going to toilet me. One because I take so long and two they didn't like having to lift me up. And you could hear them down the hallway arguing about this. And this one the door was open. I weighed 135 pounds soaking wet. So I was not heavy at all for two people to lift. Yet they bitched Mont to complain about it and so they started sending in mail staff only. Everyone of the male staff or wonderful nurses treated me kindly and did not hurt me. All the females were exactly the opposite. And I never got my medication's to where I was supposed to. I would ask and explain ask and explain and tell them to compare the ones they took. But it didn't happen that way. I had to call my husband twice and then when the physician assistant came in he was all angry at me because of it. I know that my rights were violated especially the Hyppa ones. The way they treated my physical body was abusive. The fact they argued over who had to deal with me like I was a hard patient or something. I totally know what it takes to take care of a patient and I always thank them and tell them how much I appreciated them. It didn't matter they were still always annoyed to help me. Then The physician assistant try to make me go home early when it was just two days after my surgery. Mind you I couldn't even sit up by myself. He said everybody comes home after a couple days. I explain to him I am not everybody. So I was able to get two more days of doctors care. I was asked if I felt safe going home. I told the nurse "NO" . She asked why. I explained that I couldn't do anything by myself, not even able to sit up by myself. Her first response was "Are you scared of your husband? It took every ounce of my control not to yell at this woman. As I was sat up by the nurse and my husband I was in agony. The woman nurse acting like she gave a rats ass! All a show just for my husband. It took a full week for them to wash me after sweating from the physical part of the surgery. I also needed 2 blood tra

Very disappointed. This was my first time going to BSW. I went in to BSW for my regular yearly…read moreblood work recently (december 2025). I was very specific about what blood tests I wanted to do. I was given a zero estimate, meaning my insurance would cover all the tests and I would be billed $0.00. However, I was billed $323.58 after about a week. I called the office and spoke to Lamitra(rude cust serv) Veronica(rude cust serv) and ultimately I was routed to Katie(billing/escalations/coordinator). In the most simple way, I tried to explain, to all 3 individuals, that any medical office I have ever been to in my entire life, has always told me what I will be paying out of pocket and what my insurance covers. However, at BSW, they(lamitra, veronica, katie) all told me they don't have a clue what the insurance covers and I would have to call Blue Shield myself to find out. I was dumbfounded. It's very simple, either lamitra/veronica or kaitie simply need to check my specific plan with Blue shield, see what it covers, if there is still confusion, they(lamitra, veronica or katie) would need to get blue shield on the phone and ask them specifically. Problem solved. All 3 individuals said that they "don't do that, the client(me) would have to do that". You mean every single time I go into BSW I will also need to take time out of my day to Call Blue shield, hold for 15 minutes for a rep, and discuss what they cover and what they won't?? who has time for that?? IN A NUTSHELL: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AT BSW, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PAYING OUT OF POCKET BEFORE DOING ANY PROCEDURE,BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA I paid the $323.58. It wasn't about the amount, it was about the principal. YOU DONT GIVE SOMEBODY A ZERO ESTIMATE AND THEN SAY "SURPRISE, YOU STILL NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET". Also messaged the specific Doctor I saw that day which was Doctor Pena-Delgado. She never even replied. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional primary care facility where professionals work. Wish I could give zero stars.
