Dr. John Wallace a radiologist with Baylor Scott and White looked at my ultrasounds and diagnosed me with cirrhosis of the liver. I went through a lot of emotional stress due to his diagnosis! My gastroenterologist did a Fibro scan and found I did not have cirrhosis of the liver. I had mild fatty liver. My cap score was 238. Anything under that is normal anything above it to 259 is mild! I do not recommend this facility! I called their facility and told them I was going to report him to the medical board. You would think they would call me back? No one has called me. Do not use these guys. The radiologists' write-ups are cursory and sloppy. There is no process for resolving a customer issue (i.e. the patient); the best you'll get is a receptionist on the phone who's not qualified to discuss an issue. There is a reason for better appointment availability than other imaging centers in the area. That said, the experience with the techs overseeing imaging is very good. read more

Incredibly rude staff that give ZERO care to you. If you care about your health, please do not come here. My doctor wanted my CT scan done here because I had my previous one at this location and she wanted to see any changes. My first appointment here was NO WALK IN THE PARK. I was sprung with ridiculous charges that I was supposed to pay immediately--$1,000.00. I do not know about you, but I do not have this kind of money just laying around. They made me pay an absurd amount of money up front, and accepted a payment plan after I threatened to leave as I just didn't have it. This put my in a financially unstable place, but I paid my payment plan on time. Cut to my second time here. New insurance after getting laid off, new deductible. Did they work with me??? NO!!! The people who work there are so rude when asking for payment plans--treating me less than human. The attitude is unbelievable!!!! Do yourself a favor and go to Longhorn Imaging instead. I called them to see if they offered payment plans....and they do!!!! Not only that, but they were extremely kind and understanding on the phone. They know that people don't always have this kind of money laying around and want you to get the care. They are completely flexible. I pay my bills. I just need time to reasonably take care of them. Touchstone doesn't care about your business and certainly not your care. They just want their money upfront no questions asked. The sad thing about this, is this is going to be ongoing for me. Every 6 months indefinitely I will need a CT scan due to my health. Do they care and want to work with me? Nope. Not at all. Had ultrasound from "Stat" order on 10/4. Palpable lump on my right side flank. Ultrasound results come back "clear" on the "chest". I spend the next 25 days asking to understand how that could be possible. On 10/30 my doctor calls me and tells me they ultrasounded the wrong area of my body and that it came back "clear" - even though there is a palpable lump. She reported to me she called touchstone and asked them to refund me or redo the ultrasound. After calling customer service, I'm first told they can't find my account. Second call- yes, your doctor ordered a chest ultrasound. Third call- yes your right side flank is part of your chest (really?) and repeatedly told me there is no mass, even though my doctor and I can feel a mass. Also told me that if I want to have it "Reread" my doctor has to request that- she did. Also no way to do a records request on the touchstone website for Texas. Why? read more

Instead of doing the job of a certified nurse, this location has the patient so their work by handing you an IPad to fill out the medical questions a nurse would ask. If you have a question you don't understand, you would have to ask the person at the front desk in front of EVERYBODY sitting in the Waiting Area!!..How embarrassing and defeating a feeling....... We came here twice in two weeks, and had to fill out this IPAD again! Next time my do tents us to go to get an MRI or xray or whatever, we will ask to go to another imaging firm that doesn't ask these questions using an IPAD...! Making an appointment with this place is an absolute nightmare. I was scheduled today for 10 am procedure with another to follow at 11 am. I had received many conflicting texts regarding appointment times and location of the procedure. We were in the car leaving for appointment at 9:15 and I called to verify which location. 3 months of trying to schedule a mri. 5 times rescheduled because they couldn't get the orders right. 5 different people tried to get it scheduled correctly, but even after I thought it was all taken care with the right scope of orders, notes from doctor, and insurance sorted they called me and for the fifth time got the order wrong again. I came into Touchstone for simple x-rays on Tuesday, May 30. My chiropractor expected for a report to be to her by the next day. I showed up to my appointment with my chiropractor who informed me she didn't have them the report yet. I called in afterwards to learn that the radiologist had not seen them yet. I asked how long it would be and was told they didn't know. My chiropractor informed me Thursday morning she still had not received them. So, in the afternoon I called Touchstone to see if the radiologist had reviewed my X-ray, and still they had not. I was informed Friday morning that the chiropractor still had not received a report, and I never heard back from Touchstone from Thursday what was going on. So yesterday- Monday, June 5, I called again to find out that no report had been given. So, I asked for a refund as I was a cash paying patient to the tune of $180. I said I needed to find a lab that would review my scans in a timely manner. I was told by Kim that a manager from Touchstone would call me back to discuss my dispute. This morning, I called again and asked why a manager had not called me back to discuss the matter of my refund. I was informed that a report had been sent to my chiropractor. I asked to speak with the manager, because I wanted to know why it took me requesting a refund to get anything done around there. Jessica, who claimed to be the manager, told me that yesterday was the first she heard of me calling in. She informed me that they were having IT issues between their server and the third party they use to read the scans. I told her it was unacceptable that there has been no communication with me with regards to what has been going on, and that she herself failed to contact me when she said she would. This lack of communication is unacceptable, as well as the fact that it took me requesting a refund to receive my report. I request at minimum a pro rata for them giving me the run around and wasting my time, gas money, etc. I was informed that billing likely would not honor that request. So fine: here I am writing you the yelp review I promised! You don't treat customers this way! As far as I am concerned, you may and well had attempted to take funds under false pretenses. COMMUNICATION IS KEY WHEN IT COMES TO GLITCHES WITHIN YOUR SYSTEM. You need to be respectful and considerate of the people you make money off off and also make a concerted effort to actually fix problems in a timely manner. I highly doubt ANYONE was checking on the reason my report hadn't been completed yet until I held a fire to your feet. You are hilarious to gaslight and treat me like some kind of ignorant fool to the situation. And if this wasn't the case, the lack of communication in your office is appalling. They have a known problem with their scheduling where the system sends out text reminders to be at your appointment an hour after you were supposed to be there - something someone at Touchstone shared with me. My wife was waiting on an MRI so surgeons could determine next steps that may save her life and we were told her appointment was cancelled because she showed up when the system told her two. Two weeks for the next appointment. Heading to ER now. Touchstone should be investigated, highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Received an estimate of the cost of imaging prior to the procedure both on the phone and at the facility - estimate was grossly understated. Estimate was for $100. Billed charge was $455. Appeal process was ineffective. There was absolutely no willingness to compromise in any way. Have received imaging services from other providers whose estimates were accurate. read more

I had to go to this place, it was not my first choice. When I showed up, I paid for my service, and then she let me know that the X-ray tech was out to lunch and told me to come back in one hour. I came back in one hour and then had to wait another 45 minutes in the office for someone to see me. I was the only person there. Now two months later, I'm dealing with the office charging me for that service again! I've called in and talked to people on two different occasions and no one can find my payment. Even though I've got bank statements saying I paid for my service, that doesn't seem to matter to them and they keep telling me to call back or they'll call me back in a few days as they try to look for my payment. I shouldn't be dealing with this. It was a simple transaction and it's 2021. Ridiculous. read more

My spouse was referred to them on December 29th 2021 and wasn't called to schedule until January 11th. Website was down, no one answering calls ect. Not getting in before the end of the year drastically increases patient costs, waiting that many days for service is unacceptable. First, I was scheduled on a Saturday due to extreme sciatic pain. I got up and drove to the location to arrive before my 8am scheduled time and no one was there. I called and after a 20 minute wait, they said someone was on their way. Finally finished my MRI by 10:30. Second, the charge for this MRI was triple the amount ARA charged for exactly the same MRI 3 months later. I am still paying off the nearly $2,000 bill (WITH insurance). read more

Had an absolutely phenomenal experience at this Touchstone location. I came in on short notice after a referral from a medical walk-in doc, and they were willing to take me within 30 mins. It ended up being that I needed to fast for my scan, so we made an appt for the next morning. I was in the office for less than ten minutes before I was taken back. Samantha is an absolutely phenomenal ultrasound tech, and she detected something during my scan that my doc had not considered. She took incredibly thorough imaging and even went above and beyond what was required of her because she wanted to provide excellent care. My pain management doctor referred me to get my shoulder and back MRI, and they insisted on only doing the back MRI. Maybe it was their backed up schedule, but now I need to go back and get my shoulder one done. So my pain management has been delayed by a month. If you are looking for a care for a pain management doctor, it is pretty serious. Secondary to being hospitalized, I had to cancel my appointment last minute. I am unfunded and Jamie went above and beyond to make sure I could offered the MRIs and needed 3 different MRIs. If you are funded or unfunded, I would highly recommend Touchstone Imaging. My quote for 3 MRIs was about $550 with Touchstone Imaging, almost $3,000 with ARA, and $1850 at Memorial Herman. The staff is amazing and care. Jamie did not focus on the business side of medicine and expressed the importance of making my health the priority. Furthermore, Jamie made it possible for me to afford the diagnostics. The financial assistance varies on how much your income is. I'm middle class to give you an idea and hospital hospital debt is considered, so cost varies. It was nice to speak with someone who has your health at the forefront. Thank you Jamie! read more

This was my 4th MRI and I have to say it was the most pleasant. Sang was my radiology technician and did an awesome job of making me feel comfortable and keeping me informed of the progress. When you are in a tube for 45 minutes it's nice to have a reference of time. He also did the best job of placing the IV for the contrast dye. No pain, no bruising! The scheduling department was awesome about calling me and offering me an early time because I had expressed interest in getting it done asap. I would definitely go to River Ranch if I ever need another MRI but I'm hoping I won't :) read more

This review is only for a phone call conversation on 3-6-13, not for service or medical care. I am calling Radiology businesses in the area and asking for information to make a decision of where to go. They were cooperative with the following information: if they are in network with my insurance, if all their doctors and machines were in network, what their CPT code for bi lateral breast MRI with contrast is and if they have any other items they bill or code for, what their tax ID or number they use to identify them when I call my insurance, lastly what age and type of MRI they use for bi lateral breast MRI. Because their MRI is used only to detect ruptures (of implants), their services are not what I need. read more

Summary: While they make mistakes sometimes in quoting prices the discrepancies in my case were small and their radiologist is well regarded by my specialist. I was quoted a price by this facility and by another facility. Based on the two estimates, I chose River Ranch. At the time of the procedure, I was given a different, higher price. The amount quoted at the time of the procedure was also later increased by about $100 due to rare changes in insurance company policies after I'd already paid, I was told. It may have been explained to me that this amount was an estimate, or maybe it wasn't. They did spend probably close to an hour patiently explaining to me over the phone the new fees. They said they'd swallow the price discrepancy. I asked them to charge me the $100 and they said no. But then, weeks later, after I'd written the first version of this review, I got a bill in the mail for $63. No explanation was provided. I had never heard of Touchstone Medical Imaging but my doctor knew I needed a CT Scan that day and couldn't wait. ARA, where most folks go, was completely booked. I am so happy I was sent to Touchstone. The staff was kind and caring, yet professional, and I had follow up calls for a copy of pictures and report and I was treated so kindly on the phone and it was not an issue for them. I recommend Touchstone especially if their locations are near by. I was in and out quickly, and my doctor received report promptly. Do yourself a favor: go somewhere else. My experience with this place started when I woke up with vision loss and my doctor requested a stat spinal tap due to swelling in my brain and this was the only place that could get me in. My appointment was for 2:00, I got there at 1:45, and waited and waited and waited. Person after person was walking in, getting called back, and leaving and I finally mentioned how long I had been waiting to the front desk. When I waited another 30 minutes (it was almost 4:00 at this point), I asked the receptionist again why I had been waiting for so long, and finally I got called back after she spoke with the tech. Once I was in the back with the tech, he told me that he is "just one person," that he "hates add-ins" (AKA me, the awful person who needed stat tests because their brain is swollen), and told me that I'm mad at him and my procedure takes too long so he was squeezing everyone else in before me. Basically, making me feel guilty for asking why I had been waiting TWO HOURS. After this he made me wait even longer to fit in a few more people who were "quicker" than me and I finally got my procedure done after being there for almost 5 hours. Over the next few days after the procedure, I developed a spinal headache from the spinal tap (happens to some people, I was warned about this) and was told to call them if this happens. I called 4 times over 5 hours until finally someone got me to the nurse, who was in a rush to get me off of the phone (they were almost closing, of course), and she told me to come in the next afternoon. That next day, my headache was significantly better and I called to ask that nurse for advice on whether or not to come back in, and she told me I should continue bed rest and not come in. Having missed work that day because I was expecting an appointment plus I had this horrible headache, I called again to ask for a doctor's note. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes, transferred to 3 different people, and was told that they wouldn't write me a doctor's note because I "hadn't visited the clinic" that day. I ended up having to speak to multiple people until I was transferred to the same nurse who cancelled my appointment, and she reluctantly and rudely wrote me a doctor's note after questioning me about why I needed one. Seriously? I had a spinal headache, was told BY YOU to be on bed rest, had an appointment that was canceled only 2 hours before it was supposed to happen due to YOUR SUGGESTION and you're going to question why I need a note telling my job why I missed? I didn't think my experience with this place could get any worse than the first day there, but clearly that's not the case. Spare yourself, do NOT go here. read more
