I was referred to this facility by my physician for an MRI on my foot. When I called to schedule…read morethe appointment, I was informed that their facility was out of network, but I wouldn't be charged anything. The facility would cover any costs incurred that my insurance didn't cover because they're new and building their business. Sounds easy for me, so I agreed to move forward with the appointment. When I arrived, I was asked to fill out lots of paperwork, all of which was normal- except the last three pages which were legal documents stating that I was responsible for anything my insurance didn't cover. The third document stated that if I was in need of financial assistant and had either a high deductible plan or was paying cash that they would offer some sort of payment for me. Well, that isn't the type of insurance I have, so I asked the administrator present for further detail. I let her know that I was uncomfortable signing the documents because I had been told that all of my expenses were covered verbally over the phone (she was actually the one that told me this) yet these documents stated otherwise. I let her know I'd be happy to sign these documents if she could provide me written documentation of what we discussed on the phone. She replied that she couldn't. I asked if she could email me a statement. Again, she said she couldn't. I replied that I didn't feel comfortable signing these documents without something in writing to protect my interest. I asked if I could take the documents home to look them over with my husband (my foot is broken, I would really like this MRI so I can get the correct treatment even if I'm feeling like this is getting weird) and she ripped them out of my hands and said that she would be shredding them. I'm sorry- how sketchy is that? I promptly left and called my doctor to let them know not to refer to the facility any more. I typically don't read these type of documents at a doctors office, yet thank goodness I did! If they're in network, great! If not, watch out.

My MRI was STAT since my follow up with the orthopedic was the very next morning. My orthopedic got my results in time for my appointment which was awesome. While waiting for my appointment I had the opportunity to grab a few mints and a water bottle. I could of even grabbed a few of the snacks available or a coffee. The MRI tech was super nice, cute and made the process easy and painless. It was nice to be offered headphones that tuned into a radio station that I picked and also a warmed blanket since that place is chilly.

Reminders up until day of just in case you forget along with the pre-paperwork completed online. Their door says open at 7am vs Google maps sites that have 8, so I arrived about 5 minutes before the appointment at 8. Got into the back a bit late, with everything else going as planned. Joan way my technician and she was so pleasant and friendly. Made the process less stressful and efficient. She gave clear directions and only had to redo one item. The changing rooms were nice with and according style door with magnets so it's not just a sheet covering the opening like other places. Even the gentlemen who did my checkin was friendly and efficient. Helped to have the prework done.

I visited Dr. O'Connell's imaging center three years ago. The waiting area was calm, clean and…read morequiet. I was seen on time. The technician was fine, nothing special to write home about. However, it was Dr. O'Connell's attention to detail, professionalism and caring bedside manner that wins 5 stars for this review. She took her time during my examination and gave me her interpretation then and there. She sat with me to address any questions I had as well as gave me advise. I left her clinic reassured. Her office followed up with a letter confirming that my results were normal / benign. In contrast, I was sent to ARA (Austin Radiological Association) a few weeks ago to review a situation in my other breast. Although their office was also clean and quiet, the doctor never took the time to see me. He communicated his vague conclusions through the nurse. I had a few questions, which had to go through the nurse, and I had to wait until she returned from asking the doctor. This was a terrible experience as a patient when compared to the experience I had at Dr. O'Connell's office. I will go see her office for a second opinion, given that I know she is thorough. Who knows how thorough ARA is since I never got to see or talk to the doctor.

Just walk in, tell the lovely, super friendly front desk staff your name, and done. I've visited mannnnnnnnnny times over the years and have never spent more than five minutes in the very large and clean waiting area. All of the techs are fabulous! Everything from routine imagining to diagnostic, they all go above and beyond to make me feel cared about and comfortable. With limited mobility, they are also very careful, patient, and eager to accommodate any of my needs (e.g., a step stool, removing my shoes for me, etc.). During MRIs they provide a new pair of no slip socks to keep the lil piggies warm (you get to keep them). And, they even cover my body with a cozy, heated blanket...very spa like! It's the small touches like these that make an uncomfortable, and sometimes a bit scary, process much more tolerable. I'm so grateful for everyone at ARA-WP. Best location in the ATX in my opinion. I was particularly interested in getting back in shape as quick as possible; My wife had a good result with Dr. Quinton Dailey (doctor's degree in Physical therapy) so I had Dr. Gallagher refer me to Dr Quinton at Orthopedic Specialists of Austin. I didn't realize how stiff my knee would be after the surgery. I tended walk around like a peg leg pirate. Before the physical therapy sessions began, Dr. Dailey (or Dr. Q for short) emailed me some simple exercises to do at home to begin the process of regaining knee flexibility. When I began sessions at the office location, Dr. Q worked with me to arrange times convenient for me and where he could personally work with me. He always had a specific course of exercises laid out with weight, reps, etc. tailored to me. Exercises were a blend of balancing, strength, and flexibility. Dr. Q is obviously very familiar with TKR therapy and knows how to get you to where you need to be. Initially, Dr. Q was pretty careful to see that he wasn't giving me something too stressful or might cause me to fall. As he assessed my personal situation, he stepped the intensity level up to keep me constantly improving, emphasizing the areas I particularly needed to improve. This surprised me a little; there were some areas, primarily balance I thought I was better at than I actually was. At the end of my sessions I exceeded the recommended goals for flexibility and regained the strength and agility to resume the activities I like. I can walk 3 miles or more easily and play pickle ball without pain or swelling. Additionally, he emailed me a course of follow on exercises to continue at home. Finally, Quinton is a good guy and serious about what he is doing. He does have a good sense of humor though. I heartily recommend him if you need physical therapy..

Front desk ladies are always kind, empathetic, very helpful and professional. Clean environment…read more Pleasant atmosphere. Dr J. Taylor Lackey is professional, knowledgeable, and very well manages his time. Most of my visits, I have be able to see him in just 5 minutes. Only one time that I needed to wait about half an hour. Overall never a very long wait. Dr. Lackey well planed and it really helped saving patients' time. When he knew the reasons of my visit, he ordered me for an x-ray in prior to see him, and he told me that I could call to get an MRI order without the need to go to his office again. I have seen Dr. Lackey for my tennis and golf elbows, my dislocated tendon at my pinky finger, and lately a lump at my inner elbow. He is very attentive and provided me with the necessary physical therapy and medication. Claudia, Dr. Lackey's Medical Assistant, has been very kind, considerate, and attentive. She has tried her best to coordinate the doctor's orders and the x-ray unit in order to make it as fast and effective as possible. She has gone over everything slowly to make sure I understand everything right. Maybe the clinic has been too busy lately causing me a hard time reaching her. I left 2 voice messages and have been waiting over 48 hours, but never got a call back. I needed to leave the 3rd message before getting a call back causing me almost unable to get my MRI scheduled before my long trip. The front desk ladies or the scheduling ladies are very nice, always very helpful and are excellent at their jobs! When she knew I couldn't get a schedule at Austin Sports Medicine Lab, she recommended me 3 other labs in Austin and the near by areas and fax out my MRI order to all other labs right away. Finally, I could get my MRI scheduled on the last day before my traveling. I have experienced some difficulty at the x-ray unit inside Austin Sports Medicine. I have had conditions at both of my arms, but the x-ray technologist did the x-ray only one of my arms. I told him right away, but he refused to check even if I asked him politely and more than one time. When Claudia found out, she talked to the technologist and asked him to do the x-ray again for my another arm. Instead of fixing the mistake and having me next in line, he seemed upset and put me the last in line! And this time I waited over 30-40 minutes and still couldn't get an x-ray. Ended up Claudia told me that Dr. Lackey would pull my old x-ray for my another arm, so I didn't need to wait longer. I just wish the technologist was cared to listen to patients and spent a little time double check things. It could help prevent the mistakes from happening and save a large a mount of time for both patients and himself. In Sum: I highly recommend Austin Sports Medicine and Dr J. Taylor Lackey!

Not very impressed with this office at all…read more First - There is zero parking available. (The worst I've ever seen at a doctor's office). People were circling, and alot were parked illegally, even in the grass. I was forced to park next door at all the retail shops, even though there were a ton of signs saying they'd tow. Not really a great first impression. Second - My appointment with Dr. Meghpara felt very rushed, and was not near as thorough as other doctor's I've seen (and what I would require to consider it a worthwhile visit). It was my fault for not getting x-rays from another doctor over in time before my appointment (the office didn't remind me to bring any, and I honestly just didn't think about it until a few days before). I did bring my MRI images and report, and he basically said he had no use for those. I asked if we should take another X-ray at the office, so that he could see my current state, and he basically said it wasn't necessary. He also had me do only a few movements in the office (totaling about 10 seconds) to test out my pain, whereas two other doctors had alot more comprehensive exam. He then proceeded to give me his opinion without examining any x-rays or (from what it seemed) the MRI CDs I had brought in. He just went off of what I told him my situation was, what my last doctor had said (a few weeks before), and basically agreed with that assessment. At this point I was just ready to leave, as I was already disappointed and knew that he is not a doctor I would return to. I wish I would've just avoided going there for another opinion, and wasting $80.

I am, in fact, switching all of my specialists over to this campus as the communication is stellar between doctors and everyone I've seen has incredible bedside manner. The staff is generally good (it seems like this place is a wonderful start for many as I've seen a lot of rotation and/or turnover) and navigating scheduling and other difficult parts is super simple here. Only gripe: the dang parking garage (NO PARKING VALIDATION)
