Only got small appetizers and a couple glasses of wine and even that was good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere despite coming in later at night.

This restaurant was in the same building as our Hotel Le Meridian and our tour director arrange dinner for us on the first night of the tour here. The restaurant dining entrance was on La Rambas. The restaurant had a colorful trendy ambience in a cozy comfortable dining room. Our dinner was very good and the service was wonderful

Bait and switch. Bill was 2Xs "special" because I was told I should have an appetizer I didn't realize was not part of the "special"!

BAIT AND SWITCH. (Told to get the special menu, then recommended an appetizer without being told it was OFF the special menu. Got bill 2Xs the price of the special!) I visited the restaurant because it also carried the Le Meridien Hotel brand name. I was told by the hostess I should try the 25 euro special, as it came with a nice wine, appetizer and dessert. She sang its praises. I agreed. When asked what I would want for my appetizer, I was told I should have the octopus. I was NOT told that it was not part of the 25 euro special. I was disappointed to receive a bill that was itemized at nearly TWICE the price of the special menu I was shown. I was told this happened because I ordered the octopus appetizer making everything else a PER ITEM ORDER... And, on another point, when I asked for tap water instead of bottled (trying to be green) I was told they would have to get an OK from the manager - and that the Barcelona tap water (which I had been drinking all week) is too bad to drink. Bait and switch. Something I wouldn't expect with a restaurant associated with Le Meridien...

Our server divided Paella for two at the table.

We had a delicious Paella on our only night in Barcelona staying at Le Meridian. Service was outstanding.

Great place for dinner with nice view on crowded La Rambla. The food is delicious. Russian salad has homemade mayo that makes the difference! Absolutely yummy. Seafood paella and salmon are delicious as well. The interior and service would not disappoint I loved complimentary waffle chocolates, crunchy and yummy.

It is an upscale place, inside Le Méridien Hotel. Environment is very nice and food is also nicely presented.

Great music with nice atmosphere. The waiter was nice and attentive. I will definitely return. He was also quick for Spanish standards so I was impressed and pleased. The tapas were seasoned so perfectly and I thought the presentation was very nice too. The restaurant had a nice jazzy feel to it, with soft music playing in the background. My friend and I got the house wine that is offered and I thought it was fantastic. The white house wine was light and fresh, and went down smoothly. It complimented the food perfectly. I got the chicken over basmati rice, and my friend got the salmon, and we shared the patatas bravas. The food was reasonably priced so I was very pleased, because walking in I thought it would be expensive since the restaurant is on the fancier end and the service was so good. Overall, I recommend this place and I can't wait to go again with another friend who is visiting soon!

inaccurate promotion terms online

Food: A solid 4 stars, the desserts and lamb shoulder were particularly great. Big portions for mains- suggest to share if not super hungry. Service: Mixed feelings about this. One of the waiters (the younger guy) was sweet and friendly, the other one did his job but wasn't the most patient or nice Vibe: Semi-fancy but playing some trendy music which was a bit confusing Could be improved: They offer a 40% discount via reservations through thefork.com but on thefork.com the only conditions listed was that the discount does not apply to drinks or the set menus. However, in person in the restaurant there was more conditions than listed on thefork.com, very confusing for the waiters to explain - why can't they just list this on a card or on thefork.com? see photo uploaded for what is listed the additional conditions are apparently (not written anywhere to validate): each person (including kid or teenager) must order one drink, one starter or dessert and one entree to receive the discount. Honestly, all the hassle and confusion around this promotion could have been greatly reduced and made for a much smoother dining experience. Please work out the kinks around this.

Tiramisu

Delicious and great ambiance! Not a terrible spot for toddlers although the kids menu was pretty decent. I had the hummus with pita and feta salad to start-- husband had the jamon croquette. Hummus was delicious as was the feta salad-- hubby wasn't impressed by the croquette. For entree, I had the vegetarian paella and hubby had seafood paella. Paella was pretty good and best part was that unlike other restaurants that require you to order 2 portions, here each order is per person but big enough to share! Someone had recommended the tiramisu and it was amazing!!! Definitely will return for the tiramisu!

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! Comfortable ambiance great for date night or casual meals!!!

This is the first restaurant I stopped at for some tapas during my trip to Barcelona and it spoiled…read moreme. I ordered a few things so let me talk about each one. Ham & Chicken Croquette: This was too good for how small it was. Just a nice potato croquette filled with some great quality ham and chicken. It was akin to a cordon bleu. White Asparagus with Baby Beans and Ham: This one floored me. Tender white asparagus in a vinegar based sauce with some tender ham and beans. I could have had two orders of this. Pulpo (Octopus) with Pork Belly: Not the best Pulpo of the trip but it sure set the standard. The octopus was unbelievably tender and you can just taste how fresh it is. The pork belly slice almost felt like an odd choice here to be honest. I didn't really know how to eat it with the pulpo since it overpowered it. The pork belly itself wasn't very impressive either so I kinda brushed it off at the end. It was a bit dry at some parts and just kept throwing me off. Gambas roja a la plancha: Prawns are EVERYWHERE here and they know how to cook them. These were tasty but not the freshest or most flavorful I had this trip either. Always eat the shell! Scallops a la plancha in a leek-apple based sauce with bits of crisped ham: This dish on its own makes this place a 5. The sauce is DIVINE. It's a little sweet and creamy to contrast the savory, perfectly cooked scallops swimming in it. The crunchy bits of ham give you a nice texture surprise with some much needed salt to balance it all out. These scallops practically melted in my mouth with each bite. This is a must try. Beef filet and foie gras montadito: Basically steak and foie gras on a toasty slice of bread. Honestly? This was the weakest dish here. The steak itself was just okay and I didn't really like the foie gras. It was like a very gamey butter. I'm sure it has its applications but it just felt like too much going on here. I'd pass on it. Chocolate in 3 textures: So for dessert I wanted chocolate so I went for the choco bomb. It was okay. I guess the three textures were the ganache, mousse, and wafers? It just reminded me of an elevated chocolate wafer bar like one from Loaker. I'd also pass on this dessert. My server was lovely and the atmosphere here is vibrant. Though there were few misses I would absolutely eat here again and get the things I loved but switch up the rest. That's part of the fun in tapas anyway.

Some meals stay with you forever, and this was one of them…read more The food here was, without question, some of the best I've ever had. The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.

My Greek salad was very authentic and was as good as any salad I had while I lived in Greece. Very fresh vegetables, great Feta and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi under the Tapas menu with garlic was equally good and oh so tasty. The smallish inside restaurant is best described as rustic and a tad warm. Instead I opted for the outside dining area, which has just a few tables but offered a very pleasant ambiance in the small side street this business is located on with low foot traffic and a very nice breeze on the warm day I dined here. The relaxed dining on the outside is definitely the way to go here especially during the summer months. From a negative standpoint, certain aspects of the service were too slow. I was seated pretty quickly upon arrival but I waited a tad bit too long to get my order in. Once ordered though, the food came pretty quickly on a positive note. However, for all intents and purposes the service stopped at that point where I had no follow up and literally had to walk inside the business to get my bill. Overall, the dining experience was still great for me slow service aside as the quality of the food and outdoor ambiance far outweighed the negatives. I would say if you are in a bit of there rush you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience with great food than this business will be definitely fit the bill!

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
