We recently moved to the area and have visited Cedar Mountain Cafe several times. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is very friendly and welcoming. We have been for both breakfast and lunch. It's a locally owned restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect place to eat before or after visiting DuPont State Forest. It's only 5 minutes from the visitors center! Breakfast and a hike out to triple falls, or bike ride and a burger for lunch. It a little hidden gem in Cedar Mountain. read more

We frequent Brevard once or twice a year and this is the first trip we stopped at a breakfast spot and I am glad we did! The service and food all deserve 5 stars. The food was so fresh and not greasy like usual breakfast places. I had the mountain man breakfast both times I went and it was a perfect taste of everything! 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausage patties, 2 humongous Pancakes and delicious bowl of grits! (You can interchange the pancakes for French toast or biscuits and gravy; and grits for home fries, I tried all except the biscuits and they were all delicious!) Definitely come give them a try. The best little restaurant in cedar mtn! Would recommend to hikers or tourists coming to or from DuPont State Forest! The food there is always good and the service is continuously expectation exceeding. Their omelets could be considered as world famous and their burgers are always cooked to perfection. Delicious breakfast spot! They have daily specials- check the board. 3 of us in my party, one got the special: breakfast wrap and a side of French toast. One got the mountain man, and I got the bacon hash. I was hoping it was like corned beef hash- which I love, but it wasn't. Still tasty none the less- bacon mixed with potatoes into a patty. The French toast was great- made out of French bread. Service was friendly with a smile and prices were reasonable-high. FREE WIFI!!! read more

What if you walked Into a breakfast place and the only coffee they had was either decaf or flavored? Well, it's the same thing for tea drinkers when all that is offered is green tea, herbal or decaf. So not being able to have tea meant my breakfast didn't start so great. It did not improve. I ordered the plain Jane with eggs and biscuit. I up'ed the regular grits to fried grits and added bacon. The fried grits were new to me and were okay but very greasy. I didn't think they were worth the $1.00 surcharge. But that surcharge was nothing compared to the surcharge for my bacon. $2.50 for two strips of bacon! And those two strips were super greasy as well. The eggs were good and the biscuit was good. My husband's meal was okay but nothing memorable. All together we paid $30 for a very mediocre breakfast for two. We're locals but won't be back. read more

We've eaten dinner here 3 times in the past couple of years while on vacation. What a gem of a restaurant! Dinner is only served on Thur,Fri,Sat. 5:30pm-8pm. Being a small place you might want to call ahead for reservations...the place quickly fills up with the locals. They always post their specials on their Facebook page. The owner and chef does a lot of everything. She will come out of the kitchen and deliver your meal with a beautiful presentation and always delicious. She has a garden growing outside and I assume she uses her own herbs when cooking. read more

Great food, but interesting management style. We wanted to sit outside for breakfast and there were several empty tables outside as well as inside. We were told that since there were only two of us we could only sit inside; the remaining outside tables were for three or more people. We sat inside and for the entire breakfast nobody else wished to sit outside so the tables remained vacant. Seems like an interesting strategy, disappoint the customer who is there in favor of one who isn't. Anyway, it's great food, but we left shaking our heads. read more

We live on the other side of the mountain and a good breakfast spot is hard to find, but we finally found one! The bacon hash and California omelet are great. After reading some of the other reviews we decided to stop in and give this place a try. I wasn't impressed with the greet staff as we were left standing while the majority of tables were empty. However it wasn't until my food arrived that I realized just how bad of a mistake I had made by choosing this place. I ordered the Bourbon carmalized brisket, which came with mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. Worst meal I have ever tasted, I can't say eaten as I could not eat it. I even tried to bring it home to the animals and even the racoons wouldn't eat it. The meat tasted like they had taken yesterday's brisket poured boubon over it set it on fire then to put out the fire poured every hot sauce and seasoning they had over the top. The potatoes were cold and the veggies were basically raw. My mom ordered the Hanger steak, the knife would not even cut through it. I will say my husband ordered a hamburger and a salad and both of those items were very good, however because the other two meals were so bad I am still rating this place as a 1 star. read more

We went to Cedar Mountain Cafe after hiking around DuPont all morning on Labor Day. We were famished and they gave us exactly what we wanted! They were actually closing up soon when we arrived but they ushered us right in and couldn't have been more hospitable. Delicious food and excellent service. We bought some of the muffins they sell at the register before we left and they were delicious too! Highly recommend this restaurant. The setting is also gorgeous. read more

I hesitate to share this one as I want to keep it all to myself as a quiet mountain retreat. Truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Reservations are necessary for dinner but it is well worth scheduling. The entrees we enjoyed, fish tacos and pot roast, were very fresh with the perfect touch of fresh herbs. The staff was friendly and helpful with the correct balance of privacy given . We enjoyed our dinner and conversation with a minimum of interrupts . The desserts also were one of a kind. We had a perfect breakfast here while I'm Brevard for the weekend! The place is small and doesn't look like much when you walk in. The food was wonderful though! I got the country mans breakfast (or something like that) that came with bacon, pancakes, grits and eggs. My husband got French toast and ate half of mine because it was so big! Me, my fiancée, and our daughters are visiting my great grandmother and we decided to stop by for lunch. I used to eat there when it was still under Grannies. I have to say I am very impressed with the new renovations and ownership. I tried the chicken salad (AMAZING!) and a side of the sweet potato waffle fries.
