Brooks Tavern was one of those places we almost overlooked, but I'm so glad we didn't. Completely unassuming from the outside, but wow... this ended up being one of the best smash burgers we've had. Perfectly crispy edges, juicy, and just done right. And the nachos with beer cheese... insane!!!! Like actually so good. Every bite had something on it, nothing sad or dry about it. Unfortunately there were tiny flies like fruit flies attracted to my plate especially by ketchup so I could not eat food. Probably won't go back. Back again yesterday and tried some new things. Loved the chicken Caesar wrap, it was a nice light meal and added the homemade chips as well. Husband had the chicken fingers and fries and said the chicken was really good and not greasy at all. The diet cokes were better this time and we also had Sarah as our server, she was so sweet and friendly she seemed like she was all alone and waiting on all of the tables inside and out. We have been going to Hendersonville for many years and just discovered this restaurant today. Small but really good. Food excellent, had the Monte Cristo and cheeseburger. Server was wonderful. Awesome local spot with a wide array of menu items to choose from. They are open for breakfast and lunch and I heard from several regulars that the steaks were great! We stopped in for a quick drink and ordered the candied bacon. The drinks were made well and the bacon had good flavor but was cold and may have sat in the grease for a little longer than needed. The staff were friendly and the restaurant would be perfect for a date night. Overall, a good experience! read more

I was having a hard ttime choosing between the Monte Cristo and my favorite, a Rueben, the Rueben was recommended so I ordered it with fries(upcharge). I was not disappointed!! Bread could have been toasted more, that's it! Great flavor! Get there early, maybe 8 booths, and the bar, and a line waiting!! I was there about 430pm...but worth the wait in my opinion!! We stopped in while on vacation on 9/21/24 - just a little late posting my review. We picked Brooks based on the Yelp reviews. It is located on a side street of the main area of Hendersonville. When we arrived, this place was busy - so that was a good sign! There was one empty table outside and we walked in to see if we could have it - and apparently that is where we went wrong. We waited and waited and nobody acknowledged us. Servers zoomed by and it seemed they purposely avoided eye contact. We could not get the bartenders attention either. Finally a group of four got up and the one guy said we should just grab their table before somebody else does as more people were walking in the door. Oh ok...so we just find our own table here. Good to know. We did decide to take the table outside so a family could take the larger table inside. The server found us and brought menus. Our beverages came quickly as did our order. We both ordered burgers and they were good! Server was friendly. We enjoyed the table outside - it is just in the middle of the sidewalk so thankfully it was just the two of us so we did not block the way too much. read more

This place is the bomb! The food was amazing and Josh the bartender was awesome! The turkey Brie and apple sandwich was to die for and the buffalo chicken egg rolls were as well! Let me start that I did not order the burger which seems to be what they are good at. The chicken Caesar was small. Tried the potato salad but again a very small serving. After a hike to the Little Bradley Waterfall, there was only one thing to do. Go find the perfect lunch and take a minute to relax. Luckily Brooks Tavern was the perfect spot. I used to love this place and would come every time visiting Hendo. Tonight was the first time I have been since the change in ownership. We arrived around 5:30 pm as a party of 4. The only table left was 6 top and they would not let us eat there. They were saving in case a "large party" came in. So we had to wait about 20 minutes for a booth to open up. 3 other groups came in to eat and they all had to wait as well. We ordered drinks from the bar. Mine was served in a cracked glass. They would not let us transfer our bar tab to the table. The egg rolls have been a must eat since I was introduced to them. Tonight I was sooo disappointed. They are not the same. The 6 top still remains open. The meal was pleasant enough. After our meal the 6 top remained empty. They charged us an additional fee for using our credit card. All and all not a great experience.
