This German brewery definitely had potential, but it just didn't quite click for me. The beer was decent, solid German styles, but nothing that had me planning my next pint. I did appreciate that they had other drink options, including THC beverages, which was a nice touch for the non-German style beer person or just not a beer person. The entrance and inside felt meh and a little grungy, though the patio was nicer and featured a cute mural (however I think it has more potential than how it's set up now). It looked like they host trivia and other activities throughout the week, so I could see it being more lively during an event night. We didn't try the food, but what came out of the kitchen looked good. The highlight? Their version of the Cracker Barrel peg game, except with little bullets instead of pegs. I told them they should mass produce those things because I'd totally buy one! Overall, it wasn't a bad stop, just not one I'd go out of my way for again. read more

Free street parking outside of the brewery is a nice way to start your visit. Curry wurst and the German Pilsner were delicious. We great conversation with bartender and fellow patrons. On top of a hill in Hendersonville's burgeoning 7th Avenue District is a local brewery that features live music, indoor and outdoor seating, darts room and a good kitchen. Wide range of local beers with German beers featured. American and German cuisine. The chicken wings are available in 8 flavors. The apple salad was surprisingly good and fresh for pub food. I met up with my husband and friends for whom Guidon was the final stop on their brewery crawl of downtown Hendersonville and we had dinner here. I had a wiener schnitzel, he had a jager schnitzel. I really liked the spaetzle and the cabbage it came with, and the sweet mustard they had in squeeze bottles by the pick up window helped with the schnitzel which while good was just a tad overcooked. The portion was huge, I couldn't finish it. I was really glad they had sodas on tap too, I'm used to meeting them at breweries and having nothing good to drink that isn't beer, and I'm just not a beer drinker even when I'm not designated driver. It's got a very casual country style ambiance, lots of tables, a decent amount of parking out front. read more

If I had reviewed this 2 years ago it would have been 3-4 stars because they were still figuring out their brews and service model. Now... they deserve 5 stars! First to note is that the brewery has multiple places for you to sit and sip, all of which have their own vibe. Of course there's the bar and bar seating area, which is pretty standard. Just off the bar, but still inside, is a short flight of stairs up to a loft area with couches and coffee tables. Tucked away around the back of the bar are a short flight of stairs down to a basement-type area that has darts and patio furniture. Outside the big door from the bar is a huge wood deck with picnic tables on the other side of the railing. So there's a space for however you're feeling today! The beers are pretty tasty, too! And their kitchen is open and ready with some really good pub food. I appreciate that they always have some flavor of dark beer on tap, which is a rare gem in this area that's so focused on IPA's. Pro tip: on Tuesdays, 22oz pours are $6!!!! read more

We went here for the music. The beer was not bad but the owner who served us at the bar was not very nice or welcoming. When the musician started playing, some man sat at the bar and stared at the musician as if he wanted to kill him. I went up and ordered another beer and asked the owner who is that man and she said that is my husband. The music was amazing but I can see the look of concern on the musician's face. The owners husband was horrible with the dead look on his face. We tipped the musician and made it clear and loud how amazing the music was. We will never come back again because of the negative vibes from the deathly looking husband. Suggestion, leave him at home. read more

Visited as part of my yearly family birthday celebration. started with the pretzel, which came with beer cheese and mustard. Absolutely yumminess. Didn't care for the Mac and cheese, and the Plain Jane Cheese burger was exactly as stated, the pretzel bun was yum and I didn't realize I could add bacon which may have improved it. This little pub is a well-kept secret that is getting out more and more. Located over the hill on 8th Avenue behind Southern Appalachian brewery, hosts Mike and Connie have created an intimate, warm pub with a great selection of brews, wines and cider. The emphasis is, of course, on the brew side, with a huge dollop of conversation that rounds out a cozy, friendly atmosphere. When there's music, it's not overwhelming, even when live. Solo and duet acts are the norm and tend toward the informal, friendly, interactive entertainment found in the best of Irish and English pubs. Darts? Sure. Downstairs. Food? A food truck was onsite when I was there and plenty of tables are available inside at bar level and an upper level as well as outside to enjoy a good sitdown meal. Look for some good cask brews with a real, hand-pulled beer engine in the future, as well as seasonals and special event offerings. This brewery is top notch!! I have now tried 4 of the beers that they brew & wow... absolutely amazing. From the Raspberry Berliner Weisse to the Oktoberfest to the Coffee Stout... they are all incredible. Easy to drink and great flavors. The wings are also great, super crispy and the mustard sauce + the dry rub is a flavor explosion. The Brussels Sprouts are also amazing. You can buy their kegs for your at home kegerator too! While I'm typically not into German beers, this place may have changed that. They have quite a selection of beers, and all appear to be true to its style. I ordered a flight, so was able to sample several. The schwarzbier was my favorite. The staff were very friendly. There is a nice outdoor space, with heaters that were perfect for sitting outdoors in the cold weather. We will happily return here on our next visit to town. read more

Found this place by way if Google reroute due to traffic, this spot has several cozy intimate corners to conjugate and enjoy some great brews with a lover or group of friends. They offer live music at times. Food on site, fire pits it has it all. I tried a bourbon coffee beer that was off the chain. The beer taste clean and refreshing. The beer here was 'meh' but the atmosphere is what pushed this place to a 4 star. Guidon has a huge space for the amount of business that it does but hopefully they can grow into it. I tried a sample of the 'everything' beer and it lacked flavor. I ended up getting a glass of their IPA and it was decent. It was nothing to write home about but it was respectable. Honestly, we go here because of the amazing food truck! The beer is still growing on us, but the environment, staff, and outdoor patio are a shining compliment to this place.
