Service was impressively fast, and the staff even switched the TV to the Oscars so we could watch, which was a thoughtful touch. The food was excellent across the board. I ordered the bacon grilled cheese, and it was seriously delicious--the only thing I would have changed is that I personally would have loved the bacon a bit crispier. We also sampled three beers, all of which were great. The High Country Honey had a subtle sweetness with a light hazelnut note. The Hatchet Coffee Porter was smooth with a rich roasted coffee flavor. My favorite was the El Chupacabra, which had a smooth profile with prominent vanilla and chocolate flavors. The ambiance was relaxed and welcoming, and the prices were extremely reasonable. I can't count the number of times someone has recommended this place. Booneshine has a really lovely overall atmosphere. It's in a great location of east Boone, right near a trail and Brookshire park. (And Cheap Joes art peeps!) The service was great, our waitress was so sweet and attentive. All the staff we talked to were super friendly. The brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious, super crispy and fun flavors. I enjoyed my hot honey sandwich - it was nicely fried - crispy on the outside but not overly breaded. And the chicken was still juicy. The fries were good and if you are a ranch fan, I recommend getting some for dipping. My mom got the salad, which she enjoyed. We appreciated they had the option to get a small or large salad. It would be great if there were options to add a protein to the salad. But they do give lots of options for building meals, so it's not a problem. We didn't taste any beer, but I definitely plan to next time I'm there. They had a great variety available, with the option for a full or half pint. I always appreciate places that give the half pint option, cause I usually never want a full pint. I also want to mention that Booneshine started a clothing drive days after Hurricane Helene hit and has been doing a ton to support the local community as we recover from the storm. They care about the community and that says a lot about the people who run and work there If you are in the area, definitely stop by. Great place to sit outside and enjoy a beer and some tasty food. Our 2nd visit to Booneshine, but our first time eating dinner here. We came on a Thurs night (less than a week after Hurricane Helene) around 6PM and sat on the patio. Of course, I had to try the IPA's....Space Pegasus ($7) and Pop-A-Can ($7) and enjoyed them both...Pop-A-Can was my favorite. If there is one thing I would recommend to this place, it would be to get QR code ordering on the outer ring of the patio and also the beer garden. I came here by myself with my dog, and I couldn't leave my stuff behind to go get another drink. If I had the QR ordering, I would have had another beer (so they would have made another sale). This such a great local spot off the beaten path in Boone. It's first come first served but if you arrive at a decent hour (beating the crowds or the weekend rush) then you'll be happy you stopped in. The whole setup is partly indoor and partly outdoor. If you get seated inside then you get full service and accessibility to the menu. If you're outside there's a food truck with a smaller menu and a beer tent you can order from. The first time I came here it was on a weekday evening fairly early, so we were able to sit inside. I got one of their burgers and fries and it was really delicious. The beer I ordered was surprisingly good--I believe I got Space Pegasus. The whole place is great for groups and it's family friendly. Definitely a new local favorite spot. read more

We have seen this place advertised in the past but never had the chance to check it out. Until now. When you arrive, you'll notice the parking lot is dirt and gravel, just so you know in case your shoes mean a great deal to you. Just mentioning this in case it rains. Walking up, you'll notice outdoor covered seating and a welcome podium where you wait to be seated. You'll have your choice of booth-like or high bar still seats. Also to note, this place is dog friendly. A big plus for you animal lovers out there. The bar is bustling with all sorts of beers on tap as well as hard ciders. There is something here for all tastes. The food menu is a little Limited but yet enough to satisfy most tastes. We were seating promptly and our server was friendly and efficient. She also answered any questions we had about the menu or drinks available. We ordered the pretzel as an appetizer with beer cheese. I got the fries honey chicken sandwich and my wife got the pimento cheese BLT and we also got fries. All the food was very good. The chicken sandwich was the crispiest, crunchiest chicken I've ever eaten. Absolutely wonderful. The fries were hot and fresh and my wife's pimento BLT had delicious pimento cheese and crisp, fresh lettuce, tomato and crispy bacon. I had one of their drafts and my wife got one of their fraught hard ciders. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The place is clean and well-lit. Service was very good as was the food. We've been back since since this visit. Like most things the last few years, it's not cheap to eat and drink here. With one drink each and food, a couple can expect to spend $40-$50 plus tip. But like I've said before, I don't mind paying for good food. You owe it to yourself to give these guys a try. You'll have a great time and a great meal. read more

This place is busy! We went about 7:30 on a Friday evening and had a 1 hour wait. While waiting, you can grab a beer and sit outside and one of the many picnic tables to relax and wait. We were seated around 8:20 and were informed that the kitchen closed at 9, so any food order needed to be in by then. All the food and beer we tried were amazing. I love the vibe here. We ordered appetizers and my favorite was the pretzel. Kinda typical bar food but our crew generally liked everything except we didn't all love the Brussels. In town for a soccer tournament and stopped in for a beer and lunch. Like that they have a separate beer garden bar and food truck. Dodd was really good, smoked chicken tacos were tender and tasty and the eggplant fries were super crispy, really good. Best was refreshing. Only negative was their lack of covered seating on a hot day, could use more umbrellas. Tip: If the lot is full, park at the park and make the very short walk instead of paying $6 at the business across the street. read more

Overall the place was super cute and absolutely loved the vibes. Waitress was kind and attentive and we got our food at a reasonably good time. We got the brussel sprouts as an app and they were great! The pickled pepper relish really made the dish. My bf got the supreme flatbread and he really enjoyed it. I took a bite and I agreed. It was very delicious and not overbearing or heavy. Unfortunately there's not much positives I can say about the chicken sandwich. The chicken cutlet was soooo thin and was severely over cooked, probably due to trying to get those aesthetics "grill marks" on it. The greens was the same greens as the salad and it kept falling off and there was no sauce whatsoever on it. Pretty mediocre tbh. One last thing- there's 2 distinct areas- 1) indoor : has servers and the kitchen and 2) outdoor : had 5-6 taps and food trucks. They only had a few overlapping beers on tap and you are not able to order from the bar and bring it outside - not that I could do. I was pretty shocked and sad as I didn't really like any of the beers on tap in the outdoor space after my bf and I finished our dinner and decided to go to the other area. But it is what it is. We stopped into this Boone mainstay last Saturday for lunch. We get out this way every so often and we try to visit one of the breweries in the area when we do. There was a food truck / trailer on site (I don't remember the name) but we opted to sit in the brewery and order from the menu. I started with a Space Pegasus IPA. My wife, who is NOT a beer drinker, was happy they had wine available. The IPA was really good. It was "dank" like an IPA should be. Next up was a four beer flight sampler, Nuclear Seahorse, Tropicpale IPA, Cherry From The Monastery and White Oak IPA. All were really good. I purchased a four pack of the Pegasus to go. For lunch we started with a Pretza, which is a pretzel topped with Mariana sauce, pepperoni and cheese. It was really good. The pretzel itself wasn't overly doughy, it was lite and the sauce and cheese on it were delicious. My wife ordered the High Country flatbread which was made with a cauliflower crust. It was topped with broccoli, pickled onions, cheese, buttercup onion sauce and kale. It was really tasty. The vegetables were roasted perfectly. I went with the Bolick Burger "Brookshire Style" which was topped with caramelized onions, beer cheese, candied bacon and????, I can't recall. It was delish however. The fries that came with it complemented the burger really well. They were crunchy and had the right amount of salt. This is a really nice brewery in the Boone / Blowing Rock area. This is a local brewery. The soft pretzel with beer cheese was AMAZING. The pretzel had great taste and just the right amount of soft. The beer cheese had a slight spice to it - not hot just flavorful. The fried Brussel sprouts while they looked amazing they were just okay. They needed a little more sweetness to them. The ABC grilled chicken sandwich was the freshest, healthiest tasting sandwich I have ever tasted. The bread is from a local bakery called Stick Bread. So fresh. This had grilled chicken, Granny Smith apple slices, (yes I said apple slices), Brie and arugula. Highly recommend this sandwich and pretzel. The beers come in 8 or 16 oz and the best part is two 8 oz beers cost the same as one 16 oz beer, so you can try without a large commitment and you can try several different ones. The beers were great. They have inside seating, a patio and then a picnic area with a beer trailer out there and sometimes they have their food truck set up out there which serves different food than inside. The food is typical brewery food. They were out of a few items. Which I found odd to be a Saturday around lunch time. If you are like me and prefer a cider they only had one on tap. The beer selection did look good. Our server was attentive. I can't say that I would recommend as this place is a little forgettable and I doubt I will remember it for a place for someone to visit while in the area. read more

What a great space! A nice restaurant/brewery with indoor seating (loved that they had the garage doors for open air even if inside) and a large mostly covered patio. Additionally, there is a big picnic table area you can sit at and enjoy their beers and I assume food to-go. The weather was great, and it was a holiday weekend, when we visited so it was busy. However, I felt the staff managed the crowd well. We sat at the bar which was a fun place to be to watch all the actions. They have around 10-15 of their beers on tap. They also serve wine, coffee, etc. We enjoyed their Gose, Hazy IPA, and Porter. A lot of their beers had had creative names which I appreciated like "champagne in the membrane." Beers were great and the bartender attentive even though he was quite busy. We got some lunch to enjoy with our beers. They have a lot of bar type options but also some elevated options. We started with their Crispy Chickpeas with salt & vinegar as we were intrigued. Liked the texture and it was a unique spin on the usual brewery bowl of pretzels or nuts to snack on. For entree I got the Mixed Greens Salad (Against The Grain sunflower sprouts, onion jam, blistered tomatoes, pickled sweet peppers, crispy chickpeas, sunflower seeds, and shaved parmesan) with grilled chicken thigh. Unusual to be thigh not breast, but added some nice fattiness to the salad. I just wish there was more. It was a small amount of protein for a $6 add on. But the salad itself with nicely platted and hit a lot of marks I look for like color, varying textures, and taste. Liked their grilled sweet pepper dressing too. Hubby got the Booneshine burger (on a Stick Boy sourdough bun with mixed greens, tomato, red onion) and fries. You also get to pick your choice of sauces, we went with the ketchup, grilled pepper, and white bbq as we like sauce. Enjoyed all. The fries were plentiful and tasty, nice and crispy but still soft potato inside. The burger was alright. Asked for medium, but it was a bit over. My cousin got the Chicken Sandwich, which you can get grilled or fried, and added the candied bacon for $1. Again, the chicken piece was small compared to bun. We visited during July 4th weekend and they had a carnival going on near the picnic area. This was a cool extra surprise. It had additional food trucks and carnival games. You were allowed to bring your beers from the brewery over, you could also buy beers there, We each tried our luck, with mixed success, at the dunk tank. It was a fun time. read more
