Dog friendly even the cold. Huge cider collection. Knowledgeable staff. Darn to table food truck. Chill or crazy... depends on the day.

    Flight of beers

Decided to come here for beers late on Friday. The place is open until 11pm but does last call at 10:30pm. The people working the bar weren't that talkative but hey, maybe they had a long day. We tried the flight and then got two pints. They do start putting the seating up on top of the tables after last call so it's definitely a "get out of here" vibe. But the beer was decent.

Celebrating Boone's craft beer culture, AMB is nestled in its very own park with a large outdoor garden area, vast open-air seating, and an inviting covered pavilion. The communal Oktoberfest-style picnic tables that collectively can accommodate up to 250 guests, foster an environment of community and conviviality. AMB offers a thoughtful draft and bottled beer selection and additionally ciders and wines. If you get hungry there's a food truck on site that also serves up your favorite casual fare with wood fired pizzas and a fun variety of snacks and sides. We absolutely loved the vibe and atmosphere and the beers were great too!

Love trying new places and my wife picked this one out. Very casual place, plenty of beers on tap as well as some hard ciders. I picked a light summer lager. Wife got one of the ciders. Both were good and refreshing. They have bagged snacks but any food comes from a food truck parked outside. We got the Mexican corn off the cob and a pepperoni pizza. Don't bother with the corn. It came with tortilla chips but was so bland I wanted to take it back. Corn on corn chips didn't hit the spot. It got a little better towards the bottom of the cup but the space was too thin and it really lacked flavor. Save your money and pass on it. The pizza was wood fired and was good but certainly not worth $14. My advice is to eat before you come here. There is plenty of seating and beers to sample but don't count on the food from the food truck. We finished our drinks, food and left without ordering a second round. My wife described it as a soccer mom hangout. I have to agree. It wasn't bad, just not our cup of tea.

Look, I am not a big beer drinker, but my boyfriend loves a good brew - we both had the best beer-drinking experience ever here! I had the Honeydew Honeysuckle - let me tell you, it tastes like a southern summer, and that's coming from a Mississippi girl who grew up licking honeysuckle juice as a special treat. The owner took the time to visit with us and was very authentic and humble. The vibes are impeccable, and we of course had to grab some merch bc it was chef's kiss. Looking forward to stopping by again next trip!

Definitely a great little pub with a lot of unique characteristics that make it a great spot to stop at in the mountains. Definitely a known brewery around these areas that has some pretty decent options in their own right that you will find outside of coming here, but the variety here definitely tops that with a nice atmosphere. I can see why it's a very popular spot here in the middle of the college town. Honestly between the service being good and the variety of a simple combination of indoor outdoor spaces, it's about all you can ask for. Don't get me wrong there's some breweries that have unique things to offer besides this in the mountains at times, but what they have done here is perfect to make everything flow well.

The pizza is amazing the beer is sooo good!

I absolutely love this place! The beer is fabulous! Good selection to choose from. Love the vibe! The live music is always good and the pizza is delicious!! Definitely a go to when in Boone!

I ordered the bacon grilled cheese, and it was seriously delicious--the only thing I would have changed is that I personally would have loved the bacon a bit crispier. We also sampled three beers, all of which were great. The High Country Honey had a subtle sweetness with a light hazelnut note. The Hatchet Coffee Porter was smooth with a rich roasted coffee flavor. My favorite was the El Chupacabra, which had a smooth profile with prominent vanilla and chocolate flavors. The ambiance was relaxed and welcoming, and the prices were extremely reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it and am already looking forward to coming back.

I enjoy white pizza, and enjoy buffalo chicken pizza...but this was the first time I've ever seen them together. The food was great, everything, tasted really good, and had good flavors. The Game Day IPA and Lost Province IPA's were both also very tasty Being a Friday night, they had a live musician, playing great music, which we really enjoyed while we ate and took in the atmosphere. We stopped at South End Brewing for lunch and loved the cozy, laid-back vibe. I tried a pumpkin beer while Steve went for an espresso martini--both were fantastic choices for a fall afternoon. It came with quinoa and spring mix as the base, topped with edamame, cucumbers, guacamole, cabbage, crispy wontons, and fresh ahi tuna. It was flavorful and beautifully presented, though I honestly couldn't find much quinoa--it felt more like a salad than a grain bowl. In a town that is geared…read moretowards tourists (I'm a resident), and where one restaurant tries to outdo the other, this restaurant is sorely lacking, in everything from wait staff to food. What they do have is a lot of different types of beer. So I guess if you just want a beer with tasteless food then this is the place to go. My friend and I had lunch at around 12 noon. There were literally only four other tables with a few people. Our waiter came to take our order and basically gave the impression that he wishes he was anywhere other than in this restaurant working. Not even a smile or a hello how are you doing? He was truly uncaring and answered us in half syllables when we had questions about the menu. OK whatever -/so we ordered a burger and the turkey Gruyère sandwich. At $19 for a burger (most other places in Blowing Rock charge around 12) and another 19 for a turkey sandwich you would expect at least french fries or coleslaw as a side. The sides are potato chips ( how cheap can you get) or green beans?????? if you want anything else like a side salad or fruit you have to pay an additional five dollars. Literally every other restaurant in town that serves sandwiches or burgers gives you a choice of several sides that come with the meal . But here a hamburger with a side of fruit was $23. Our waiter never came back to check on us, but another waitress did come a couple times and filled my tea glass with ice and asked us how everything was and brought samples of the beer. Thank you to whoever that was. Wish you could have been our waitress. Because our waiter was so unconcerned about waiting on us that he apparently forgot we were there. After a half an hour of not receiving our food in a restaurant that was mostly empty, I flagged him down and asked him what happened to our food. He said he would go and check on it. He came back and said that ours was the next ticket up.!! so basically this waiter held onto our ticket and then got reminded that he had to actually put it in for us to get our food. So we waited another 10 minutes. The burger was so tiny you practically needed a magnifying glass to see it. Burned to a crisp because of course the waiter also forgot to ask how we wanted it cooked. We like it medium rare, and definitely not charred and well done. The Turkey sandwich with Gruyère was just some turkey slices and I'm assuming gruyere cheese which I couldn't really taste. The whole sandwich was definitely forgettable. So that's my review. I still gave the waiter 10% tip, which he did not deserve. He did not deserve a tip at all. Needless to say, will never be back at this restaurant again. Nor will I ever recommend it. Because lunch for almost $60 for two people with two disgusting sandwiches was obscene.

But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.
