I ordered the Burnt Tips. most people refer to them as Burnt Ends. That is the tip of a brisket. It is a heavily marbled meat. Very tender and flavorful. I received a Round steak. Chopped. As a gluten free girl, this place is AMAZING! Almost all menu items are gluten free and are labeled accordingly. The corn tortillas and chips are made in house and are SO GOOD! Met some friends at Quixote this weekend. We had reservations but the host couldn't find it. It didn't turn out to be a problem because they had room to seat us but it could have been had it been busier. It had been a while since we last visited and we really liked the menu. Unfortunately the food was average on this visit but what was really disappointing was the service. It wasn't that busy and they seemed to have a full staff but our waiter was frankly terrible. For the cost of the meal, he basically ruined the experience. I won't be in a hurry to return. read more

Quixote was recommended to me by a previous guest. I heard that the Poblano pasta was excellent. So I ordered the Ossa Bucca -- the pork shank, Poblano pasta, and salad. However, to start with we received water-- but no ice. We had to request it. My guest ordered the salmon and wanted to exchange the mashed potatoes for the Poblano pasta. We were told it wouldn't be a problem. We also got the guacamole and chips. When it arrived, we commented that the chips were hot but a bit overcooked. When my dinner arrived, my salad looked beautiful and the dressing was delicious, but upon closer inspection, the cucumber and tomato were covering up brownish lettuce-- like it had been cut days before. My meat was very salty-- it was mostly the sauce, and I only ate half of it. The Poblano pasta turned out to be mushy spaghetti with Poblano and cheese sauce. It did taste okay, but it wasn't the "wow" I had expected. My guest received her meal-- salmon, a lot of sautéed broccoli and yellow squash and a small plate of the Poblano pasta. So while the meal wasn't as good as expected, the worst part came when I was up charged $7 for the pasta!!! No mention of that had been made by the server. All in all, it was overpriced, the food was "meh", and the upcharge unacceptable. read more

The owner refuses to even allow sauce to be served on the side. Why? Because then you would realize it's just a crappy $20 beef & potato burrito. This is unacceptable. If you charge that much and the customer wants the sauce on the side, you put the sauce on the side. read more

Quite "Fine Dining"is not worth the name or the prices they charge. Tried the tamarinderas. Was unhappily surprised. This was a huge thin chicken breast hidden under a pool of corn starch thickened "tamarind sauce" that was too sweet. The rice it came with had overcooked frozen peas and carrots and what seemed like canned kernal corn mixed into it. Tasteless slop on a plate. Really disgusting. The one star was for the very nice waiter we had. Will NEVER return here. Could not even eat this past the first few bites. Ugh! This place rocks! We were able to make a huge reservation for 25+ and on a perfect weather day, we sat outside in the plaza by the live music. Having never been here before, they didn't provide free chips/salsa which was different. With such a large party, staff was able to take orders efficiently and food came out pretty quickly. Ordered the mixed molcajete (chicken & steak) and it was enough to share between 2 people. It was essentially fajitas covered in cheese in a large stone bowl and it was great! Also ordered a side of fried yuca fries (daily special) and it was cooked perfectly. Service was also excellent, drinks filled quickly and considering our large group, we finished with no big issues.
