The food was delicious but the service was lackluster at best. I do believe there was a language barrier, not being critical at all but our server could only take our order by us pointing at the menu items. The food was really good AND they sell beer by the pitcher!! The restaurant appearance was your typical mom and pop Mexican food restaurant with the decorations, however there was zero/zip music playing in the background, just the sounds of the kitchen. I'm not sure if we would make a special trip back but may stop by if we're in the area. I've had worse and I've had better. So roll the dice. read more

Always excellent food with great service. Love the enchiladas rancheras. Good margaritas too.

The staff was super nice and gave us our meals correctly and in a short time. With the chips on the table came a bean type dip. I did not like the taste or the consistency. Also they had a small salsa bar with tiny salsa cups. I would have preferred to have the salsa at our table in regular size dishes. I ordered the shrimp tacos. The taco shell looked like it came from a supermarket package and had little flavor. My shrimp were barely grilled and also had little flavor. They they put on a ton of tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. Why couldn't you have melted the cheese or heated up the taco shell? Or grilled my shrimp on spices so they had flavor? I did like the avocado. The best thing about the meal was the cheap margarita. It did not pretend to be expensive and tasted like a margarita. Sorry I wanted to like this restaurant more. read more

Service was confusing And misleading. Food was not one item I ordered: it was a very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. I felt treated like I was unwelcome and irrelevant. This was the worst dining experience ever. Service was insolent and rude. Never again read more

I had no idea how great this restaurant is when I walked in the door. The salsa and chips were phenomenal. It is not your typical tomato based salsa, but a puréed bean based salsa with a twang, and homemade chips, of course. The shrimp fajita salad was excellent. Again, they took this dish up 2 notches, with the shrimp prepared in creamy sauce. I listed this restaurant in my outlook contacts as 5 stars. Bravo! Service was great; prompt, and friendly. And El Bronco is such a calm, very open-spaced restaurant with lots of natural light. I will definitely dine here again! read more

El Bronco doesn't have your classic bright colorful atmosphere, but that was ok. The whole group of servers worked together to gather our drinks, take our order and serve. They started us with hot fresh chips and their own bean "salsa". It as very good. They also have a salsa bar where you can try a variety of their homemade selection. We split the fajitas for 2..... we were speechless when this HUGE platter full of shrimp, pork, steak, chicken and chorizo came out loaded with fresh grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes. This platter would feed a family of 4 or even 6. Servers were very attentive asking how everything was and if we needed drink refills. We will definitely come back to try more. read more

Staff did not seem to appreciate my business.Food was decent, but I was over charged twice so I wont be back.

Simple, authentic Mexican food. No frills diner style setting. Big menu and delicious food. The salsa bar is an added bonus. Definitely a good spot! read more

I love Mexican food! I am 71 years old and have lived in Colorado, South Dakota and North Carolina! And in all of the MANY Mexican restaurants that I have been to, EL BRONCO, in Etowah, NC, is by far the best that I have been to. ALWAYS GREAT, TASTY FOOD... Great service... A 'hole in the wall' - small place, neighborhood restaurant... Still - the BEST Mexican ANYWHERE!!! read more

We really like this little Mexican restaurant. Quality fresh food made to order and never complained about dark lettuce or anything really! We were going a couple times a week when we were temporarily staying with our daughter in the area. Friendly, fresh, and recently updated menu as everyone has had to do but you can still eat two for $20 is you don't pick the biggest item on the menu. My husband's favorite happens to be the cheapest on the menu and he loves the pork burrito, El Paso...I think it is called. read more

Charged me double the prices on the menu, the food was good but very expensive. Multiple lights and good music served a good feeling of Mexican culture. Overall, the restaurant left me upset with their dishonesty and over charging of food. read more

My girlfriend and I go here literally every week and Food is always good no matter what we get , staff is always very friendly and quick. Prices are awesome compared to other Mexican places and they have a salsa bar with plenty of options. Highly recommend eating here! read more

Great food. Friendly staff. Great prices and the portions are right on. Etowah's Mexican joint.

Been going here for years. Never disappoints. Food is great. Workers are awesome and hard working. Restraunt is clean.

Gave us extra drinks even though we didn't ask for them and CHARGED US FOR THEM, that's not right!!

Great food and great staff. The Texas nachos were the best i've ever had- lots of flavor and everything cooked just right. Great staff and a yummy little salsa bar. I'll definitely be back! read more

El Bronco - a plate of mexican food - Mexican Near Me - Etowah, North Carolina

Better than Taco Bell but not really good. Low prices but they add 4% to credit cards. Chili relleno was unlike any I have had. Almost no chili poblano and mostly ground beef in a creamy cheese. Joke really. Avocado burrito was basically avocados and lettuce with a flour tortilla. Rice was decent. Beef tip burritos were ok. Drenched in sauce. Veggie fajitas were the best of the group but just good not great. Will not go here again. Sol y Luna SO MUCH better read more

Spacious dining room allowed for social distancing. Loved the salsa bar! I had the whole tilapia and my wife ate the chicken enchiladas (Yolandas). read more

We Have been going there for a few years and have been enjoying every meal. The last two times things are sliding downwards. We hope the team at El Bronco step it up and get back to the excellent food they've been serving In the past. It was like they just threw the food on the plate tonight. And the tamales have been very hard. Are they warming them in the microwave? read more

First time eating here. Service was friendly, but the food was terrible. I could've made better tacos with the Old El Paso kit from the grocery store. Not much flavor, ground beef was not even seasoned. On the other hand, the fajitas that went to another table looked and smelled good. Wish we had ordered that instead. read more

Took a chance Thanksgiving eve since we were nearby. Pleasantly surprised by the large menu. Food was very good and very generous portions. Attentive staff. Very casual, but that's fine. read more

Fairly typical Americanized Mexican restaurant. Friendly staff, average food, average service. No complaints but no great praise, either.

If you know what to order this is a great place but there is a lot of hit and miss. That's true with any Mexican restaurant since naturally there are so few that have a menu that's of manageable size in order to ensure freshness. read more

Manfriend and I split the fajitas mexicanas. Plenty of food, such reasonable prices! Great service. Typical TexMex. Def be back.

Okay service but sub-par food, draft beer was cold but not the freshest. Food came out quick but compared to many other Mexican resteraunts ive ate at including some foodtrucks this one is on the bottom of my list. read more
