The gringa was pretty good. Probably aptly named. Next time when I go back I definitely wanna try some sopes, a gordita, and an huarache. Definitely will come back to the spot.

We were so happy to find this fantastic taqueria. This was the first place to eat in Hendersonville…read morethat we really loved. The place has a welcoming and very low-key atmosphere - but the food is top-notch! My companion had the #2 carne asada and I had the #7 chicken mole. Both dishes came with rice and beans and a basket of (4) delicious warm soft corn tortillas (wrapped in fresh towels) that looked and tasted like they were homemade and had been cooked to perfection - just the right proportion of crispy dark bits. At the counter there are add-ons - cilantro, limes, onions, red chilis and green and red salsa. The carne had a beautiful tang and depth of flavor - chunks of tender pork swimming in beautiful green sauce with green chilis and a heady heat that almost caused me to swoon - but there was no burn, just rapturous deliciousness. The mole was also lovely - the two pieces of chicken - breast and drumstick - cooked low and slow so the meat just tumbled off the bone. The mole itself had a beautiful velvety consistency and a craveable complexity of sweet, hot and savory. Wrapping these soulful stews in the accompanying tortillas with rice and beans and condiments made for a truly satisfying lunch after a day of hiking the beautiful trails of Western North Carolina. Thanks so much Taqueria Gonzalez!

The restaurant appearance was your typical mom and pop Mexican food restaurant with the decorations, however there was zero/zip music playing in the background, just the sounds of the kitchen. I heard the table behind us say the same thing that they had been waiting I ordered a drink that came pretty quick but then sat again waiting to put our order in. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a chili relano. They were ok nothing special. They did have a salsa bar, it said they charge per cup if you take any. Usually a salsa bar is free. The drink was good could have used a bit more of alcohol it was pretty weak. Over all it wasn't our favorite place to eat. Not sure if we would go back. It was just ok.

Every time we passed Acapulco the parking lot was full so we decided to give it a try. The young man who greeted us at the door and showed us to our table was courteous and friendly, even asking how our Christmas was. We were all impressed as it's rare for a young person to be so personable. Service was fast even while they were juggling a steady stream of orders to go, as it was just the young man and an older gentleman manning the restaurant. We ordered the street tacos, Chicken and Steak Fajitas, a combo platter with a chalupa and a taco and the Chuletas Everything came out hot and fresh and it was delicious. The refried beans were creamy, the green salsa had a nice kick to it, the queso blanco was flavorful and the guacamole was yummy. The menu is extensive and the prices are really good.
