My husband's mother was cajun and he wouldn't even let me TRY to learn how to make any cajun food 8-) I got the crawfish etouffee, with sweet potato salad and corn as sides $21. My husband got the chicken and sausage gumbo $19. Best around - the real deal! The people who run it are lovely. There is a limited menu right now during their soft opening. We'll be regulars. This is a restaurant everyone wants to support. While we were there the woman who ran the last cajun restaurant in that location up until 2014 came in. Those tables and the bar (which was painted over) are made from cypress - brought up from Louisiana. Thought it was kind of her and her husband to come in and support the new restaurant.

Good food and nice, friendly people who are authentically Cajun. We had shrimp etoufee and chicken…read more& sausage jambalaya from their food truck while it was at Blue Ridge Beer Garden. Both were good and very similar to food we had during a recent trip to New Orleans. Portion sizes were good, but we still felt the food was maybe a little pricey for a food truck. The food came with a piece of white bread that was pretty much tasteless and unnecessary. There wasn't so much sauce with either entree that you'd want to wipe it up with the bread. Maybe some people like to scoop the food onto the bread, but with rice dishes it seems like overkill. It also came with a small serving of potato salad. Again potatoes with a rice dish seems like a lot of starch, BUT I will say the potato salad was really, really good. Tasty with a nice little kick like my great aunt used to make for summer family reunions. So rice or not, the potato salad disappeared! If you're craving Cajun food, their food truck is a good option.

In the 1.5 years since, it's still the place I most often come back to in Hendersonville, despite sampling the food and beer at basically every place in town! I love the ambiance of the old converted gas station, the fact that you can sit inside or outside (and on chilly days, they don't skimp on the heaters) and the carousel of great food trucks that are always there. I love that you're not limited to one brewery's offerings, and instead have options from local NC establishments to interesting brews from all over the country. The bartenders know their regulars and are absolutely awesome, and I LOVE that I can take my pup, take my family, take my laptop---whatever the circumstances, Blue Ridge Beer Garden is the place to be. ALSO, it should be noted that in sleepy Hendo (where some restaurants close as early as 8 pm--why??), Blue Ridge Beer Garden is blessedly open till 10.

The beer tenders were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. There's a little indoor seating, more seating in a secondary area with pull down canvas sides and then several tables on artificial turf for nice sunny days when you want to be completely outside. They have a wide variety of local food trucks on a rotating basis parked in a slot right next to the bar and dining tables. They are close to downtown Hendersonville without being right on the main road, which makes parking and access easier.
