Our drink orders were taken promptly, and when the drinks arrived, they also took our food order -- smooth and attentive service from start to finish. We started with the buffalo chicken dip with pimento cheese and pita bread, which was outstanding. The pita was perfectly toasted on the outside while staying warm and soft on the inside -- absolutely delicious. For our meals, I ordered the Down South Chicken Sandwich, and my girlfriend chose the Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Both were excellent. We cut them in half so we could try each other's, and honestly, I loved both. The flavors, freshness, and quality really stood out. The food, though? You'd be better off grabbing a box of Spinx chicken and a tall boy. As for the atmosphere--just a few neon lights trying (and failing) to distract from the fact that what they call "hot" is barely lukewarm. Update for the owners response: We ordered the Flocking Hot sauce on our sandwich. What we received was essentially the no-heat sauce with a few pepper flakes sprinkled in. We even asked for extra sauce, assuming there had been a mistake in reading the ticket--but the ramekin was the same: no heat, just pepper flakes. It was mild enough that my children dipped their nuggets in it. Quaint little restaurant that looks like an old service station. We sat in the enclosed patio and it was heated and warm. Ordered chicken Philly and was good! Bun lightly toasted. The baked Mac and cheese was creamier than those I've tried at other places and a delight! I'm not a pimento cheese fan but the pimento cheese was to my surprise good on the Down South sandwich. The place itself has an interesting industrial meets 50's diner. The staff is great and the place was hopping. The food was pretty good. I cannot stretch to great but it was ok, repeatable, not spectacular. I think once you find hub city chicken it's hard for anything else to measure up. Chicken tenders are massive so order accordingly. Unaware of that I ordered the 3 tenders meal with 2 sides and could not finish. The breading on the chicken has a unique flavor, possibly something that's used in Indian cuisine. It was very unique but delicious. I got Mac n cheese and hushpuppies for sides and both outstanding. We stopped in for a brief lunch. I definitely will be back the next time I'm in the area. The building has a retro flair, and the parking lot is plentiful. It is really laid-back. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We started with the chicken rangoon dip. It has the chicken, cream cheese, and other ingredients served with wonton chips and a sweet chili sauce. I wasn't expecting much, but the chicken in the dip was seasoned so well. It had a stewed chicken flavor with the creamy, but not too much, flavor of the dip. The wonton chips were spot on. I really enjoyed that appetizer. The chicken tenders were a pretty big size. Two was well over enough, especially after the appetizer. They were crispy, seasoned well, and the chicken was not dry. We were in a hurry, so we had to take our meal on the go, and even though it was way too good to be taking on the go, I still enjoyed it. The hushpuppies with the butter were amazing. The collard greens were tasty. They had a little spice to them, and the vinegar base was not overwhelming. The fries were good. They were warm, but I don't think they were cooked fresh. The coleslaw was good too. They have their own twist to it, but it was still good. If you are in the area, this spot is worth a try. read more

It's been over two years since I've visited and it still delivers perfectly to this day. I got their Korean fried chicken sandwich and it has such a good depth in flavor. The crisp on the chicken is satisfying. The hush puppies will tangle your mouth in goodness. They have the best cut of fries and will not disappoint. Bartender was kind in conversation, I tried making it easy for him and he let me know on the busy Saturday lunch what a delight I was which was appreciated. What a fun place. We found it on the way home from a Thanksgiving in SC. We had my 85 year old uncle with us, with his rollator. The waitress was really helpful and when we wanted a table that wasn't near the window which was cold, she put us under the heater in the back- which she did suggest at first. It appeared to be a full service gas station in its previous life. Even some tires still in the rack. The food was really good- kind of a fusion southern feel to it. Next time we go back, and we will I have sample some of their drinks. The happy hour deals looked killer. read more

I'm sure there's a joke somewhere in here. When is a chicken shop not just about chicken? Or why did the chicken tenders cross the plate? Or something like that, but I'm not a comedian. I am one who loves food with a passion few recognize they posses for life itself. And though some may look upon the chicken as a lowly bird, I deem it worthy of the upmost respect. I have collected eggs for breakfast from the coop, seen my great grandfathers enormous hand grab one by the throat and twirl around, and of course see feathers removed (one by one) so the bird can find its home in a skillet full of Crisco (after being washed in raw egg and coated in flour-salt-pepper). So when you advertise that chicken is what you're known for, you best delivery. And I am happy to say deliver they did. Tendies, fries, and Mac N Cheese fritters were my order. And it did NOT disappoint! And that sweet tea, like syrup on your lips. It sufficed for dessert (plus I was too full anyway from the meal). The team here treat you like old friends you didn't know you've met. Plenty of suggestions and of course that aforementioned tea never ran dry. Though I loved the aesthetics of it being in a old gas station, I opted for the outdoor seating (in the back). The weather was beautiful, it faces a local park, and is covered. Plus, that's where you can eat if you have a furry family member (I didn't bring my three, but I'm always down for smiling at others). It is the kind of place that if I lived in the area, it would be a weekly stop. For lunch, brunch, a weekend meal, meeting, really any excuse you want to make up. Great retrofit of a 1950's service station. They left a lot of the original lines and curves. It's a casual environment with gas station acoustics so it can be loud. We were seated promptly and had very attentive service which even included the owner. We got the story of the place and its conversion. I had the grilled buffalo blue and it was excellent. I ordered the fries well done and they delivered. This is my second visit and it was as good or better than the first visit. When in Spartanburg this is a great stop. read more

The food here is excellent. The hot chicken with the amount of heat you choose is delicious. I like the chicken with their honey mustard sauce. For sides the macaroni and cheese and the fries are my favorites. The service is also good and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Flockin Hot all the way definitely get the three-piece for an extra three dollars. It is definitely worth it. We had the crispy grits which were smooth and creamy and had this crisp on top that I don't even know it was just so delicious next we had the mac & cheese, which couldn't have been more perfect. It was not dry. It was crispy on top and cheesy on the bottom and then came the flockin hot tenders and they did not disappoint as I am writing this review. My mouth is still on fire. Would love to know what the chilies are. They're using to get that kind of heat because it's on point love the flock shop great neighborhood spot and definitely brings more people to the area. I'm actually really impressed with this place and their staff. I'm not sure what I was expecting when we showed up here but we were seated quickly and immediately received service. It's a kind of auto shop vibe and comfortable inside. Food was excellent. My husband ordered the buffalo belay and the chicken was super tender, super flavorful. I ordered the Health Nut with chicken and it was also flavorful. Maybe lacking a little citrus; it's a large helping of arugula. The kids got the Mac and cheese and loved it. It was like home style Mac and cheese, not the crap from the box the other places give. The hush puppies are absolutely the best we've ever had, hands down. Stopped by for a late lunch today. First thing you notice is the building used to be an auto shop of some sort. They have old tires up on the wall paying homage to the old business. Very well decorated and a cool atmosphere! I ordered the Cheerwine slushie, which has rum in it. Absolutely wonderful choice. Perfectly mixed. I started with the southern egg rolls. They were absolutely delicious and the Cheerwine BBQ sauce was *chef's kiss* I ordered 3 tenders "Flock Style." It was Alabama white sauce and hot honey. I ordered fries and hush puppies. I have to say, hush puppies were some of the best I've had. Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Great flavor and it came with honey butter to dip. Fries were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The white sauce was amazing, and the hot honey added a nice sweet but spicy contrast to the tangy white sauce. Spice was very mild, but you could tell it was there. My server was Taylor. She was great!! Very attentive and friendly! I watched as she helped other customers and she was just as wonderful to them! Holy smokes the chicken tenders were the size of a whole chicken breast- hand breaded and fried extra crispy. Maybe the best I ever had. We got the Medium hot sauce for dipping that was delicious. I am a wimp when it comes to spicy and I thought it was very hot. You could see all of the peppers in it - so good. The Mac n cheese and greens also yummy and fresh but then the hush puppies! Next level- I have never liked a sweet hush puppy in my life but These. Smothered in honey goodness, sprinkled with fresh scallions with a little onion inside made them sweet and savory. I absolutely love this place. I'm actually not even a big fan of chicken and I still come here and eat chicken, because I think it's that good. I usually get the tenders, but others I have went with have tried other things, and they've always enjoyed their meals. Good selection of sauces and sides (hushpuppies are the best!) too. It is a relatively small location and it can get quite busy, but the staff have always been very friendly and are clearly working very hard. I also just like the venue.
