I met a couple of buddies from high school here for dinner. This is one of those super-popular places in downtown Spartanburg, so you know the parking is going to be scarce, but that's OK because we enjoyed it. Our waitress Maddie was nice and very patient with us as we chatted before making our orders. We split an order of wings for an appetizer. We had a choice of four sauces on the side, which was the best choice for us. I ordered the CK Cuban, which was actually pretty good. I can't say much about the potato salad that came as a side. It just didn't have a lot of flavor. But the sandwich was pretty decent. Pork shoulder overpowered every other flavor. I'm not a big fan of pickles, but I actually enjoy them on Cubans and I could barely taste them or the mustard. Having ciabatta bread instead of a toasted roll made it easier to eat but I kind of missed the crunch from the typical press preparation. My drink order was a crisp wheat beer from the tap. Overall a nice meal and a great setting. I'd like to try some other choices. read more

Totally understandable given the crowd, but if the kitchen could speed things up just a little, it would turn a great experience into an amazing one. Stopped by for a business lunch. We were greats by a very friendly crew at the door and then promptly seated at a nice high top. Service was quick and thorough. I chose the wedge which was large and covered in smoked beef and tomatoes. Once I dug through all the beef and found the horseradish blue cheese I was pleasantly delighted. Travis had the Cribbs burger and a side of fries. It looked tasty as well. The sweet tea was delicious and my glass stayed filled. Okay! We found this place on google, we were super hungry after we came from my godsisters wedding and wanted to get something to eat. The restaurant itself was nice and they had some nice decor in there as well as far as wall art, newspaper reviews and even the seating set up was nice. The food was pretty bland to me though, I would have loved more flavor but everything did taste fresh! The buffalo chicken wrap was pretty tasty but you can't go wrong with a wrap! The truffle fries were really good too! The service was amazing and it was that southern hospitality you look for when you're down south at a nice restaurant. The service was good. Our server had very very high energy. A lot. So we enjoyed her antics. The food was just okay. Nothing special. I had the fried fish and grits. The fish was cooked nicely but the grits didn't bring a lot to the mix and the sauce on top wasn't super flavorful even with the crab added. The smoked wings were fried hard and didn't give fall off the bone like I'd hoped. My drink however was tasty. The location was very open and had lots of seating options. They also have outdoor seating as well. If we returned, I think we'd have to try something else. read more

Traveling for business and staying at the Marriott. Cribs Kitchen is a favorite of a lot of my coworkers. This location is attached to AJ Rockers and across from the AC Hotel. It has a parking lot but it looks like it fills up pretty fast. It's simple inside. Not a lot of decor. Concrete floors wood tables and chairs not a lot of pictures just simple. Which is fine. We had a large party of about 18 so we had 4 servers. That was nice. We started with appetizers. We had wings which were large and good with the Korean bbq. Pimento cheese balls, those were super good. Brussel sprouts about average, and ricotta whip dip which was good but not a large portion. I enjoyed the wings the most then the pimento cheese balls a close 2nd. For dinner we all got different things and most everyone seemed pretty happy. Lots of Salmons which they all seem to enjoy. The BBQ ribs looked good snd seemed very tender. The shrimp and grits got a thumbs up. And the short rib special was huge and I was told was very good. I got the Asian noodle salad. And here is why the score. It was just ok. I did t get a lot of noodles. If noodle is in the title of the dish you should have a ton of noodles. For a noodle salad I thought I would get mostly noodles. But no. Also not a lot of veggies. I got like 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 pieces of cucumber, a few carrot slivers, and lots of romaine. Dressing was good and I liked the crunch of the wontons. And I did get a lot of onions. But I was a bit disappointed at the salad. I also got the hound dog shake for dessert. It was ok. Lots of peanut butter taste but not a lot of banana taste. Also for $7.50 it should be larger or have whip topping and more stuff. I think that's a bit pricey and I wanted something more with it. It's a small to go cup. My company likes to go here so I might return at some point but if it was my choice I'd probably pass. read more

Cribbs Kitchen is always my recommendation for a good meal and great service. Sunday March 22 was no exception. But this time it was outstanding. I took a friend for his birthday with two other friends. The food is always excellent but this service was really special. I wish I knew the manager on duty's name; she was wonderful, and the whole table couldn't have been more impressed with her. We had purchased a bday cake from Publix, for our friend, and brought it by early to surprise him after the meal. After a delicious meal and wonderful table service, the manager came over and took a seat to speak with us. She explained they had the cake ready to serve, and as fate would have it, it was dropped and unsavable. She apologized profusely, and in such a way, no one could be angry or disappointed. She was absolutely gracious and so poised. It was just one of those things. Then she gave us all a choice of any desert on the menu, and reimbursed us for the cost of the cake. It turned a situation into a lovely human moment, and a reminder that kindness is a virtue. We praised her, just couldn't have been more impressed with her. We all left there chatting about it. I was in town for a few nights and this was dinner on night 3. I had the smokehouse wedge salad, the pork belly/green tomato appetizer, and the table bread app. The pork belly was the highlight. The table bread was okay. I wouldn't get it again. The salad was good, but the beef on the salad wasn't great. It's pounded, stringy beef that been cooked to death. Edible, just not great. read more

We arrived about 515 in plenty of time to attend a Bob Dylan concert at 8. Good thing we did. Service was extremely slow even though there did not appear to be more than 50% of seating occupied by diners. It took 90 minutes start to finish. The initial attitude of the server was not welcoming. Took an inordinate amount of thank you and please to bring her around. The menu was limited. I was drawn there by the brussel sprouts, but, alas, not on the concert menu. There was no mention by the server if regular items were available. My bad, shoulda asked. Three simple things were ordered...six wings, a beet salad and country fried chicken breast. The wings were some of the scrawniest I have ever witnessed. Tasty yes but not commensurate with the $2+ each price. I did not try the salad but my guests were complimentary. I was expecting the country fried chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes to be an actual bone in breast. There was no description on the abbreviated menu. And honestly, one guest expected what was plated. My other guest was in my court about expectations. I received a very thin and unsubstantial, maybe 3oz portion, of what reminded me of "shake n bake" boneless chicken breast with a very thin layer of overly salted and garlic less potatoes as the bed. The cost of ingredients likely did not exceed $1.50 for an $18.90 meal. I ran a successful wedding banquet business for many years so I have a good handle on industry food cost and the ratio should approximate 30%, not 8%. Maybe the regular menu is worth the ratings others have ascribed. The concert menu items we selected did not rise to that level. I actually felt we were preyed upon. Sad as I was expecting so much better. Not to be entirely a Debbie Downer, the on tap blueberry cider was quite satisfying. Maybe I should have just had 3 of those instead. ~:-) I don't believe I would try it again. I leave a place hungry I normally don't return. Visiting some eateries in Spartanburg this week and tried Cribbs kitchen. It's a nice casual place with a great selection of beer and wine. I ordered the crab and salmon roll. The menu stated that it came with 1 side. So I ordered the sweet potato fries. The waitress informed me there was an up charge for the sweet potato fries. This surprised me since there was no mention of this on the menu. The roll was very good, juicy with lots of salmon and crab. The fries were good as well. Crispy without being over cooked. This was a celebration date for my husband and I, celebrating 27 yrs. Of marriage. We originally had prepared to go to another location,but it was a hoodrat joint and it was closed. I have eaten here several times before and never had a bad experience but, I guess there's a first time for everything. For starters I ordered a Bloody Mary which was served in an 8 oz. Juice glass. It was 80% mix, 15% ice and the remainder vodka. It was not stirred. I would have expected a much better cocktail for $8.00. I ordered the Crab Rangoon Smash burger and Parmesan Fries. The burger was crucified and cold. It was basically inedible but I ate as much of it as I could stand. The fries were also cold. I could tell the kitchen was having trouble getting the meals to the table so I did not bother to send my food back for fear I would have to wait an additional 30 minutes for my food to be served. I absolutely love this restaurant and the amount of seating available. My server Rillie, was great she is highly attentive and the attention given my order was exceptional. I was short on time with a hair appointment for my lady friend. I asked if they would be able to accommodate (get is out quickly). With a bright smile Rillie said yes with out blinking. We even ordered a meal to go for my daughters working at The Industry Hair Salon. The meal was well seasoned, every aspect of the burgers and toppings came through, moist and tender. Still traveling and currently in Spartanburg, SC. With a little help from YELP.... we stopped downtown at Cribbs Kitchen. We stepped inside to find a very clean, open, upbeat restaurant with a bar. Staff was very friendly. Outside eating was available but we selected inside at the bar. Jesse, our Bartender, met us with a smile and asked what we'd like to drink. Offered menus right away. He was very friendly and helpful with my beer selection. We ordered the Cribbs Hamburger.... With sweet potato fries. The burger was served on an Hawaiian Sweet bun. How much better can it get ? .... Fabulous !! It truly was the best burger we've had.. .. in a long time. Full of flavor and cooked to perfect temp.....Med-rare. This Chef got it right. Absolutely, perfect !!!
