#44/2024 This country pride located in the old TA in Duncan South Carolina in between Greenville and Spartanburg South Carolina it's been through the ringer through the years. Prior to covid it was okay right after covid it was okay it never was really great. This is the place where if everything was full and you pulled in the park you went and had a little dinner said all right screw it this will work for tonight I haven't had a meal here probably in a little over a year I got stuck over here for the night and went in and had a fish dinner which was excellent. I noticed one thing it's very clean the staff is doing a great job the cooks are very good at this one now therefore I'm giving it more than the average three stars. My first dinner was the grilled white fish Alaskan and I had a Cajun seasoned. The baked potato was a little later in the day so it wasn't super soft but it wasn't hard it was good. And I had corn I need to add some butter though it had no flavor. that was a very good meal The next morning I thought you know what let's go and try the day shift see how the breakfast is and it was fantastic. French toast was cooked perfectly I told him to go light on the powdered sugar they barely dusted it like I like. Had the Smuckers sugar-free syrup. I went with the healthier option like I do at TA and Petro restaurants I did the healthy turkey sausage. And an egg soft scrambled Everything really good again decided to drop a review for this one now. Keep up the good work unfortunately the actual TA travel Center leaves a little less to be desired they'll be in review later on but it is what it is. Solid diner kind of place. We went for breakfast and had the simple breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, bacon and 2 pancakes. Eggs were cooked to my taste ( not runny). The pancakes could have been a little lighter and fluffier but for a diner I was satisfied. Service was good and the waitress was personable. Food came out timely and the food was still hot. As far as ambiance, it is a diner in a truck stop, what else can I say about that? read more

Wow previous reviews have been pretty good however my service was horrible no Hi no how you doing didn't tell me that they were out of regular sausage that they only had turkey sausage, didn't ask me how I wanted my hashbrowns cooked yet I heard her asking all of the male customers these questions. Food very greasy, but hey it is a truck stop. Good fresh hot coffee. The other server who is pregnant was so nice to everyone who entered... Good place to cure a hangover! read more

Quick update. Price went up, service went down. Ambience the same and food is still decent. Still has unlimited orange juice refills which is its current shining light. Maybe one day I'll review them for their lunch or dinner, but it's definitely a decent breakfast place, just no longer my favorite since pancakes do not come with each meal anymore and around $5 extra. The $0.99 loaded hash browns is still a no brainer to get! Reconsidered my last review out of fairness, the poor service could have been a fluke, I had a bad server. Moved from 3 to 4 stars. Prices going up with less food is a definitely at least a one star dock. read more

Country fried steak and eggs were great. Free refills on the OJ is unheard of. Biscuit was perfect . The restaurant open, comfortable and everything a diner in a truck stop should be. Our waitress, Heather, was about as attentive and helpful as possible. Just great service. A real professional. Glad I read the Yelp reviews and stopped here. Much, much better than I ever expected. And fed us and got us back on the road just about as fast as a Waffle House. read more

Was looking for a country breakfast spot and came across the hidden gem. The restaurant is located in a trucks top along off the highway. Immediately upon entering the staff were super friendly. The wait time for the food was very short. Everything is cooked to order. The food was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the fried pork chops and grits. The grilled pork chops was also tasty and the pancakes melted in our mouths. The cook really did his thing in the kitchen. read more

The place was very clean, the food was very good, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Their orange juice was refillable, the pancakes were delicious and big, the eggs were excellent and so are the sausage patties, it came with hashbrowns that we upgraded to the casserole which was delicious and we cannot eat it all, and the biscuits and gravy that came with it we're also getting we could not finish it. We went to Cracker Barrel up the street and there was a 30 minute wait so we waited 30 minutes and then they stopped seating people and other said it took an hour to get their food and it was terrible service given me pandemic circumstances so we decided to try this little truckstop country pride restaurant and do not regret it at all. This is your dream restaurant. They open as early as 7AM for breakfast and serve good, quality food! For breakfast. This is very unique as absolute majority of places in the USA even if open for breakfast - serve mostly questionably unhealthy (pancakes, etc.) or a very limited menu. They also work well into the night (10PM). Let me emphasize again, there is food for breakfast and it's premium, excellent quality at this location. I also dined in couple of times. Always tasty and very good impression and the aftertaste as service is excellent as well. read more

I normally don't do the big 3 of truck stops, usually the mom and pop places ..It is what it is at these places but come on man ....This is the south and you have never heard of seasoning??? ppl all around us were sending food back,I was just like whatever,but out of groceries in truck so,chose to say.. Do better for the prices and portion,how can you mess up gholash? thank goodness I had a can of tomato sauce in truck and of course I'm southern so holy Trinity of spices,,pepper,garlic, Lowery's saved the day oh plus hot sauce. Love supporting these truck stop restaurants while on the road.. you have a choice of food.. a lot of it. Healthier than fast food. Made with real ingredients.. for the same price. When on the road.. please support them. The food was excellent. Awesome way to start the day (or end it). Even have left overs for later. We stopped here, reluctantly, for dinner and almost drove off. But we went inside for a look and the salad/soup bar looked great so we sat down. The waitress was nice, Tiffany and suggested the catfish deal. We got two so there would be leftovers for my husband and then she said the salad bar was included. So we got a salad and I tried the baked potato soup which was yummy and like a cheese potato. So I was full already. Then my husband said you could get a choice of sides so we asked Tiffany if I could get a baked potato if it wasn't too late. This catfish deal came with the salad bar, baked beans , I think were homemade, wedge potatoes or whatever and tartar sauce. Plus the salad bar had fruit, corn bread or rolls etc. for $10.95. We took one dinner straight to go and we were going to share one. There was so much catfish in the dinner we ate it every day for five days. Plus they put both the wedge potatoes in my dinner and a baked potato. Tiffany was so sweet she brought her sister,Tiana, who got Tiff the job there, over to meet us and they were even more of a highlight than the food. I would give them 5*'s and the food really 3.5. I hope the owner/managers appreciate them. I'm not sure how the rest of the menu was it probably wasn't as good as this deal but stopping there made our long drive home a very nice break. read more

I know this is a truck stop diner so my expectations were set quite low but they somehow managed to fail to meet those. It's one thing to offer mediocre food and staff that seem nothing more than zombies, but to not even make an appearance in front of a customer is completely inappropriate especially when there are only two other people in the place and they are already choking down the bland stuff this chain attempts to call food. read more
