One of best places I've ever eaten. They are always so friendly.. The Baked Lasagna is one of my favorites.. They have the BEST SOUPS!!!

Excellent prices, food srved hot and fresh. Great prices, average meal under $10, not including drink ( I hate paying over $2 for a glass of iced tea which cost less than $0.04 to make). The meal I had what's 6 chicken strips fried okra macaroni and cheese and fried zucchini with enough left over to take home because the serving size was so large. Service well what can I say if you see the previous reviews I agree the girls are not very friendly and really just don't seem to want to be there which is a shame because this is a great local restaurant for the Duncan area.

Fried chicken dinner that was good and cheap!

A special little place located in Duncan, SC just a little ways off of I-85. A glorified diner with real home country cooking is right up my alley. Ordered a 4-piece chicken dinner with 3 sides and some cobbler and paid $14.00. The food was the bomb! I will be going again. Funny side note: I was going to Game Time BBQ when traffic was backed up so bad it forced me to Duncan Family Restaurant. I'm really glad it did. Their sweet tea has the perfect sugar to tea ratio.

We ate at this restaurant 3 times already. Service is always pleasant and place is favored by locals. First time for lunch we had the fisherman's platter with perfectly cooked fish, shrimps, baked potato and a side dish. The lasagna was good, nice sauce, not bad considering it is not an Italian restaurant. Our second time we had dinner. Ordered the roast Turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes. The Turkey had the texture of a reconstituted cold cut and sliced like such. The roast beef was not good, covered in lots of salty gravy with a weird consistency not enjoyable. We thought we were just unlucky on our last visit and returned for breakfast. The pancakes were a bit elastic, not fluffy, the bacon was very crunchy deep fried, even after I asked waiter that I would order bacon only if it was not deep fried. Summary would go back for fish platters and lasagna.

This is a local feeding place that the locals, I'm sure want to keep quite.

I want to spread the word to all travels looking for GREAT local home cooking. This is a must STOP visit for what ever meal meets your fancies, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The chef is sure to make a great local meal for you. The staff, isn't professional to city standards (but who wants that's, when your in a establishment where everyone knows everyone. Your the guest.) You can tell it's the food that brings people back to this restaurant. They don't have any gimmicks like Corporate American restaurants, i.e. McDees. Let's face it. Without Yelps help. We would of not found this place. So thank you, Yelp in helping us finding this great place to eat

Haven't eaten here in quite a while - for a good reason. Food is not always fresh. Breakfast is I usually safe.

Just went in and stood there for 5 minutes. No one acknowledged me at all. Guess this place is a dump in more ways than one.

Second visit to the kitchen, and with food this good, there will definitely be more in the future!…read moreWe visited on a very cold morning, and orders are placed outside on the porch before entering. That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!
