I was in town for my middle daughter's dance competition and my oldest daughter expressed her interest in trying out this spot for brunch yesterday. I believe it's a family owned business which is #1 in my book. We were greeted when we came in and had a great server. It was her 4th day and she did very well. She was very attentive. I tried the salmon patties and the first bite took me back to Grandma Irma's house in the country!! Amazing!!! When we got to the restaurant it looked closed. First red flag, when we got inside the restaurant had 3-4 tables seated. They showed us one menu and then brought an old menu to show us the kids menu on it. It made it confusing since the prices were different. Our food took about 30-40 min to come out which was a lot since it was empty. The avocado toast was so tiny for $8. All the food was ok in flavor. Definitely over priced. The lady helping us was super nice and gave us good service but the place and food is not there. They should charge half their prices for the food they give. Mcds or ihop would have been a better option. Definitely not coming back. It looked like they dropped the toast on my plate and just turned it over because there was egg oil and avocado smeared on the plate. 0/10 rating. read more

The side portions were a little smaller than I would have like but they were all good flavor wise I just would have liked a little more. It seemed to be pretty popular. There was jazz music playing. Visited Greenville and I googled best places for breakfast/brunch. They popped up. Had mixed reviews so I wanted to try for myself. I can't say I was overly impressed. I went on a Thursday morning and place was completely dead, pulled into the parking lot and honestly thought was closed til I saw the open sign flashing. I was the only customer so service was quick. Food was decent but expected more flavor in the fish. But it was fried perfectly. The red velvet pancake was flat and lifeless and for $7 for one, I'd expect way better. But that's my fault for not asking how much it was before adding it on to my meal. In any case I'm divided on whether I would try again. Worth trying out for yourself. read more

We attended Hope Church, GVL near Spare Time and wanted to have breakfast afterwards. We found Gray Moon very nearby. It is a large facility with no wait to get in. The service was perfect with frequent check-ins but not too many interruption. The food was excellent. The decor is tasteful with lofi music gently playing in the background for a calm ambienc. I discussed a couple very minor notices with Jaye the owner or MOD. The bathrooms are in need of some attention but were clean. I didn't take a star of for the rustic appearance of the bathroom needing an update as it didn't take away from the overall experience. Paid $85 for brunch... and we had overcooked food, small portions (I got 2 entrees and left still so hungry..I'm not a huge person), and missing items from our order. Our server was nice and everything was clean but I was very disappointed in my meal chicken and waffles (supposed to be a red velvet Belgium waffle). My waffle was a flat at a pancake and was so small...my boyfriends sausage was burnt, his steak overcooked, and only got 1 egg (for a pricey steak & egg meal) probably would have been happier going to IHOP if I'm being honest . I've been there many times since they opened and it's the same story: 20 minutes for them to take your order, it takes forever for the food to arrive and you have to ask 3 times for the check and wait another 20 minutes. Where to start? This review is one I debated about leaving but, here we are... I'm going to go with one star mostly because I found the gospel music to be really fun. If I'm being honest, the moment I walked in I knew we were in for a real treat and not the kind I want to pay for. I was immediately struck by the emptiness of the restaurant and equally by the intense fluorescent lighting. In less than a minute's time four or five faces popped out from the kitchen as though we were the first customer all day. We decided to give it a shot anyhow. Basically everything they served came out of a box and after getting appropriately soggy, half warmed or reheated was brought to our table. It took roughly 45 minutes to get our food and when it did come it was a crying shame. My chicken and waffles consisted of three deliciously anemic chicken wings and a squishy, rubbery waffle. It was so bad I didgt even bother to try sending it back. My daughter's corn on the cob was straight out of the freezer and, while an attempt was made to warm it, came out barely defrosted. The sweet tea was sweet tea and the unsweet tea was sweet tea - we tried three times to get it right & gave up. The kids didn't finish their food... by the time we were served and understood what was coming our way it was clear and we would need to have a lunch number two. We just paid and left it all behind. This place had it all, great atmosphere, some of the friendliest staff I've ever met, and insanely delicious food. Shakir was our waitress. She was so on top of everything and so kind! We had the meatloaf, mac n cheese (you must try), potatoes, and steak and eggs...oh yeah and you get biscuits to start! All of the food was incredible and this place just has a good vibe over all. Would rate it a zero star if I could. We came here after a church service and there were maybe 10-15 people inside. We were seated right away and given the menu. About 3 mins later, our waiters came and asked what we like to drink. We both asked for coffee and sat there waiting for about 15-20 mins for coffee. Well she came with the coffee and set it down at another table to take another table order. Once she was done, she bought our "hot" coffee which was now like barely warm. So she took our order right then and there and we actually timed it, it was 37 mins before our food came to the table. She asked if we wanted another coffee and we said yes, and when she went to pour it into our cup, it was coming out very light brown. This means they are using the same coffee filter and just refilling the machine with water. They aren't making fresh coffee when it runs out. They trying to save money and use the same filter. We couldn't get the waitress to come back to speak because who knows where they were. The place is very disorganized and run very poorly. They even denied a service dog from sitting in the room and they had to leave. Such a shame because the food was good, but to sit and wait for service for that long, is really terrible. The greeter went to the kitchen- came back in about 5 min- told us to have a seat at the waiting benches. (Not take us to a table, let us get something to drink and look over menu/chat while we wait.) A gentleman came in right after us with his two young girls. They told him it would ve 15-20 min and have a seat with us at the waiting booth. (not seat them at a table) - he reviewed the menu and walked out- we followed. My mom was dropping me off with my cousin and we were gonna meet here but we also had a dog so we got outside dining and we wrapped his leash around a pole and sometimes he found his way up here and the owner is completely fine with the dog every if he was on the patio. The service was AMAZING, the owner was the one serving us and he was so nice. And the food was good everything was cooked perfect, I got 2 pancakes 2 sausages and an egg and it tasted so good. The food was very good, but this has to be one of the worst ran restaurants I have ever visited. With all due respect, please hire a consultant to help streamline the business because it should never take 2 hours to get your food. There was not a staff shortage issue, it just seemed they were all incompetent and extremely inefficient. We had 2 different servers? The hostess did not have an organized process for seating people, and made a comment that reservations did not matter since people had been waiting there. Once we got seated it took ~10 minutes to get drinks ordered. Thank god the fried chicken was good otherwise I would not have a good thing to say about this place other that they were very kind.
