This was my first time at this restaurant and the food was great! When we were first seated, the hostess was super friendly. We did wait about 15mins before we were approached by our waitress, which did disappoint us because we watched 2 tables get seated after us and they were immediately served water and orders were taken. The restaurant itself was not busy at the time we arrived, which was a bummer for us to wait awhile before even being approached with water. The food itself was great. I do wish the French Toast was brought out to us sooner because it was barely warm by the time it was placed on the table. Taste wise everything tasted great! I do recommend this spot and I hope to visit it again and hopefully have better service in the future. Waiting an hour and 30 minutes for food was definitely off putting. We had asked the server, the manager, anyone but they just kept saying they were too busy. It really wasn't that busy at 8pm. The server also never came to check on us or let us know the food was held up until we had to flag him down. I don't even know if the food was good at that point because we were so hungry I'd eat McDonalds served on a fancy plate and say it was the best meal I've ever had. What an amazing day, the kids took me to brunch at Between the trees. The Resturant was clean and nicely decorated. The atmosphere was lovely and quiet. The food was amazing our server Jess was so nice , friendly and happy! Everything was great , the service was outstanding the food was delicious. The atmosphere was amazing! This place is hard to get reservations. I was able to snag a brunch reservation for 2:15 pm. I had no idea they closed at 2:30 pm. I asked the server why did we get a 2:15 reservation when we only had 15 minutes to decide. They were busy so the server didn't come back right away. My friend went to the bathroom and the line was long and had to tell her the restaurant was closing soon. My other friend was late and had to call her to make sure she had time to order. My friend and I shared a fried chicken sandwich and fries which was delicious. My other friend had the avocado toast and was good too. Located at the Grand Bohemian Lodge. Between the Trees makes you feel like you're in the mountains literally between the trees. We lucked out and scored a table outside with a view of the falls. It was a beautiful October night to sit outside and enjoy dinner. Our server, Logan, was so kind and attentive. We started off with the Kessler margarita and the lime and coconut to drink. For appetizers, we ordered the bison tartare and the elk carpaccio. Both were good but the bison tartare was our favorite. The bison tartare was paired with chips which was the perfect balance with the bison. For dinner, we both ordered the crispy local mushroom salad served with Bibb lettuce. Oversight on my part, my husband and I didn't think twice about crispy since we were getting a salad. The mushrooms were fried! Still good, but we both thought we were being healthy. Still good we were eating local mushrooms, right?! That's what I tell myself! Did I want dessert?! Yes. We decided not to get it. I'll start off by saying this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. From the decor to the setting of being right by the river and hearing that. To the service and the outstanding food. We came here a couple months ago on our honeymoon and just now getting to a review but the staff were so kind and the manager even provided us with a free dessert which was very kind. Our food was outstanding. Personally the best steak I have had in a long time. With flavor that you rarely can get even at other top notch steak places. **UPDATE** My husband and I came here to celebrate his promotion at work and based off of our first experience (about a year ago), we assumed we would be getting the same quality of food. We got the lump crab cake, beef tartare, and elk shortloin with Mac and cheese and roasted carrots. Crab cake was ok, the lemon was fairly overwhelming. The beef tartare was too sweet and a small portion. The elk was the worst part of the meal unfortunately. We ordered it med rare and it was overdone and very tough with little flavor. The Mac and cheese was ok but kind of dry. The carrots were very good. Our server was the highlight of our experience. He was very attentive and pleasant. We had trout, pork shank, scallops, and a steak. All were done to perfection and delicious. The sides were also great. The brussel sprouts were awesome. Everyone cleaned his or her plate. You might be wondering why only fours stars. Well, we were seated outside and the place was not busy. Meaning there was one other party outside during our whole dining experience. We had requested to be moved for a better view of the falls and because the sun setting creating a direct beam in one of our party's eyes. Due to some obscure procedure, our request was denied stating that servers were not set up to accommodate our request. They could move us one table but not out of the sun. The sun situation only lasted 10 minutes so really not too bad. Again, everything else was perfect. Our server was great and took her time. We never felt rushed. The whole experience was at a comfortable pace. All in all, I highly recommend going to the restaurant. I substituted Canadian bacon for regular and had it done extra crispy. It came with breakfast potatoes. My only complainant is yesterday, my meal had more paprika or seasoning on the eggs and today, there was none. Consistency is important to me when deciding if I want to eat somewhere again. My mom picked the blueberry pancakes. The space was relaxing, service was excellent, and the meals were delicious. Came here to celebrate Father's Day/my birthday in Greenville. This place inside the Grand Bohemian Lodge looked like a wonderful spot to have lunch and celebrate. The ambiance was warm, well lit with the natural light coming through the large windows. The bar was behind a beautiful counter and behind that was an open kitchen. A lovely manager named Veronica stopped by to wish me a happy birthday and checked on us. Our server Olga brought us over a round of bubbly to celebrate which was super nice and we enjoyed a nice bottle or rose during lunch. My MIL enjoyed her delicious vanilla custard French toast, while my FIL had a nice light salad. Hubby was able to order the burger with a GF bun since he has celiac and I got their version of a fish and chips sandwich. The fish was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy batter, layered with some slaw on a toasted bun. I would've liked just a bit more seasoning or salt on the slaw but it all went well together texturally in the sandwich. They later brought out my favorite dessert ever which was crème brûlée and even had a cute HBD chocolate sign on it. Olga was very attentive and had a great personality. My husband made reservations weeks in advance to eat at Between the Trees on March 25, 2026. When we arrived at 5:30 pm, we asked the hostess if we could be seated next to a window. Even though there were tables available--just not for us--the young lady led us to an incredibly small table in the middle of the restaurant where the sun would have shone directly in our eyes if we had agreed to sit there. I asked if we could sit somewhere else as the restaurant was almost empty at 5:30 pm, and she ended up seating us at a booth next to the hostess stand. Throughout our meal, my husband and I listened to the hostess and the young lady who seated people talk and giggle. At one point I commented to my husband that I felt as though we were at a party for teenagers. The service at this restaurant was slow, but our order was correct. Our entrees were average, but the silly chatter and giggling detracted from our enjoyment of the meal. There are many wonderful restaurants in Greenville with better food and service; we will not be returning to this one. read more

Some of the meats seemed like it came from a pre-packaged Costco tray, but still good. The elk carpaccio was good and worth a try. For my main, I got the New York strip cooked medium rare (a tad more rare) with the king mushroom. I love mushrooms so was expecting a decent side, but this really was a large steak with 2 pieces of mushroom. The steak itself was extremely tender and well-cooked - loved the flaky salt on top. But the mushrooms were very oily with no apparent flavor but butter. Good, but for the price, I expect a better accompaniment with the steak. They gave us a free birthday dessert and it was some type of fruity crumble? Not sure, but it was good. Good ambiance and decent food - I'd come back to try some other dishes. read more

Between the Trees is a spot that I love to bring out of town guests to. The ambience, especially in the warmer months when the window panels are open -- is 10/10. My favorite is the brunch menu, but dinners are excellent as well. I've only once had a poor food experience on my birthday a couple years ago. The trout on special tasted like sewage. The staff didn't believe me and I felt like they thought I was making it up. That was a one-off poor experience (maybe 2023) and I haven't let that deter me from coming back several more times since then. The bar is great, too. It's large and inviting. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. This spot is on the tad pricier side, but no crazy sticker shock. It's on par with the nicer restaurants in town. In terms of location, I think BTT has the #1 spot. You legitimately feel like you're in the middle of nature due to the proximity of the Reedy River and the lush trees surrounding it. Yet it's only mere steps from Main St by either crossing Falls Bridge or taking the path from Carmella's. They also have valet, but I usually do valet over at the AC to enjoy the beautiful stroll over. read more

We recently stayed at the lodge here . This beautiful restaurant is on the lobby level. The restaurant is simply beautiful . We chose to sit outside as I wanted to see and hear the river. Our server, Sara, was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. We received excellent service. The food was delicious. My husband and I had oysters on the half shell ( personally not worth the $27 for 6 warm oysters), we also had the fried saltine crackers with ricotta cheese and blueberry compote was very good. We split the 1/2 chicken that came with turnip puree and mushrooms. Our meal was somewhere around $45-49. The food was cooked perfectly and served beautifully plated. Our other group had the porterhouse steak , asparagus and broccoli. The food was delicious however our bill with 7 drinks was well over $400. I would choose this restaurant again however I might choose the lunch seating to make it less expensive. We had a seating at 5:00 pm and chose to eat on the outdoor patio. It was brutally hot. Our server did try to encourage us to sit inside but I stubbornly insisted we stay on the patio. Well behaved dogs are permitted to sit outside and the server will bring a water bowl. Came here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Simon our server was fantastic. We had a wonderful mushroom appetizer which was plentiful and delicious. We both had the bison fillet, oh my! So tender, zero fat, tender and flavorful. We also got the sweet potato mash and the brussels sprouts, which were delicious. The house manager came over to greet us and wish us a happy anniversary. I seriously don't know what to say, this may have possibly been the worst meal of my life. I'm 51 and went to Bootcamp and have never had a worse meal. Let's start with the service....our server was nice, but not very professional. Apologized for the wait blaming it on the fact they just gave her 4 tables. Next we ordered the prawn appetizer and when it arrived it smelled like a mixture of feet and cat food. Both my wife and I took a bite and looked at each other and spit it out. Good God that was the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth and I have put a 9 volt battery on my tongue. My wife had the red fish and it was mediocre at best. I had the pork shank and it was just fine. Our bill was over $200 dollars and I feel completely ripped off especially since I was up in the middle of the night vommiting. I'm assuming it was the prawn dish. Thank God our trip to Greenville was saved with a fabulous dinner at Coral the next night and it was $50 cheaper with two appetizers and a dessert. We stayed at the Grand Bohemian and initially didn't plan on dining at the hotel but I wanted to say that I had tried it so we stopped in for brunch on our way out. We got there right at 11 and we're seated by a super friendly host. That's when the good service ended. We were watered by someone who we weren't sure was our server. 20 minutes went by and we still hadn't been officially greeted or had any drink orders taken. I didn't want to walk out because I wanted to give them a fair chance so I stuck it out a bit longer. The guy who initially watered us did end up being our server. We put in everything at once and I ordered the espresso martini to sip on. The food was good- it was plated beautifully and the portions were appropriate. I will say I ordered the chicken partially because it came with butternut squash and the small piece was sad, but I mean look at that stuffed chicken!! It was amazing and such a unique concept. I was staying at the Grand Bohemian and decided to have dinner at between the trees for my birthday. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't that great. I had the Elk Carpaccio as an appetizer. A couple of people recommended it to me. I wasn't impressed. It wasn't bad but it just wasn't anything special. For my entries I had the duck. It was...not great. First off I was expecting either duck breast or a leg. It was chopped duck with pieces of skin (that was supposed to be crispy but weren't) on top. There was a slaw salad and apple butter on the plate along with some sort of sauce. The composition of the plate in my opinion was a hot mess. The duck did taste ok. But the slaw, sauce, and butter were all over the place. It was just not that great of a meal. My server while nice enough, seemed rushed or overwhelmed. She didn't seem to know much about the menu and when ask questions about various entrees her responses were "oh it's good." No elaboration or guidance regarding the menu. The restaurant itself is nice and I can see why people would recommend it. But I was just not impressed. Ironically enough the table next to me ordered two steaks and they mentioned their steaks weren't that good and were super salty. When going back to Greenville and staying at the Lodge, I won't be eating at this restaurant. I would recommend others in the area! read more
