ordered a well-done burger, and it came out bloody red and raw in the middle. When I asked to send it back, the manager was incredibly rude and told me it would take 20 minutes to cook another one. Then she suggested taking the toppings off my burger and putting the same burger back on the grill. Seriously? Who thinks that is an acceptable way to handle a customer being served raw food? I found the suggestion disgusting and completely unprofessional. I told her I did not want it prepared that way, I was left without the meal I ordered, while dining with a friend who shouldn't have to sit there eating while I wait around for food that may never come. To make matters worse, they charged me $11 for ten french fries. The entire experience was tacky, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but the way management treats customers when something goes wrong tells you everything you need to know about a restaurant. A manager should be apologizing and fixing the problem, not being rude and suggesting they scrape the toppings off a burger that was served raw and throw it back on the grill. That is not hygienic once it's been touched by a patron. I have brought people to this restaurant and recommended it in the past, but that stops now. You don't serve someone a raw burger, treat them rudely when they bring it to your attention , and then fail to replace the meal. You have officially lost my business, and I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more

Came in for restaurant week, but decided to order off the main menu. The results were mixed for us. The salmon dip appetizer was a fun twist on the more traditional trout or whitefish more frequently found in fish dips. The vichyssoise was a disappointment. The flavor was ok, but it was a thin bowl of broth rather than a creamy textural soup that I expected in a vichyssoise. It was also served with table spoons, not soup spoons, which made it difficult to eat (maybe a straw would have been better). My husband had the steak, which was perfectly cooked. I ordered the pasta bourguignon. If it hadn't been listed on the menu, I wouldn't have known there was beef in the pasta. I saw and tasted none. Cocktails were delicious and well crafted. The ambience pleasant as we walked in, and it wasn't too crowded yet as we had an early reservation. However we were seated in the back, in an alcove with 3 tables in it. The alcove was like an echo chamber. With only one couple near us and a half full restaurant, all the sounds were so enhanced in the alcove that we could barely hear each other. That area really needs curtains or fabric on the walls to dampen the sound effects. It was really unpleasant. Not writing Rotie off. Other members of my party enjoyed their entrees, particularly the salmon. I may have just chosen poorly that night. read more

Rebecca was our server today for lunch celebrating our friends birthday (7/17/26). Lovely small bistro/restaurant with a cozy ambiance and a nice intimate bar area. My French dip sandwich with fries were excellent !!! Unfortunately the duck in the jambalaya was very difficult to cut and way too oily and messy to handle. Chicken salad sandwich was very good. Thank you so much for the complimentary sparkling wine toast for our birthday girl! Nice touch!! The iced tea came with the Jambalaya dish but unfortunately she forgot to serve it with the entrees. We reminded Rebecca so she served it at the end of our meal with the beignets. She was very friendly and professional and overall, she did give us great customer service. read more

Still five stars! The manager, or one of them, Anna, greeted us and seated us. She remembers us as regulars since this is my wife's favorite restaurant and we are regulars. Our waitress, Rebecca, also recognized us and that's just a nice touch, to be appreciated as repeat patrons. Over time, I've seen Anna tend bar, clear tables, serve tables, act as hostess, and step in wherever needed when short staffed. Once, due to illness, I think she ran the entire brunch service, or close to it. This is all to recognize her dedication to the hospitality and the restaurant and also to note the overall management of the group must foster such dedicated work. Rebecca also knows the menu, is a hard worker and very attentive. We had another great experience for our lunch. The black bread Reuben is the best in town. It is my wife's default choice, it's just that good. It is yet to be slayed, even with mighty challenges from the likes of Select and perhaps even better than now defunct former Reuben royalty, Bacon Brothers and The Cafe at Wilson's Hardware. I had the Thursday special of fish (cod) and chips, served with house made, slightly spicy Tartar sauce and broccoli slaw. Appropriately, they had malt vinegar brought in just for this dish. But the star of my meal was the accompanying vichyssoise finished with a drizzle of chive oil. This soup was rich in depth of flavor, silky smooth, and had distinct complexity of the potato and of the leek/spring onion blend with that finishing drizzle, it was a masterpiece from Chef Fernando. I joked about ordering a quart just to take home and drink it. Sometimes something seemingly simple can be deliciously complex and this is the case with this vichyssoise - not to have a starchy, thin mess, but rather a rich, savory and refreshing smoothness. We still love the interior decor where the evergreens are brought into half the restaurant around the pergola over the bar area, bringing the outdoors indoors. I went for the drink and stayed for the company. For pride month they promoted "The Ally". I must say it was so delicious I ordered a second one. First we sat outside and it was really nice and you could hear the music across the street. Our server who was also training someone was fantastic. On the receipt it said "Hakan S" but I could be wrong. He was so attentive and called us "loves" and just was so kind I'd go just for his service honestly, he never stopped smiling , even after multiple requests he just was top tier. As far as the starter, it was between beignets and the bread but the spicy honey got me. I wouldn't order that bread again it was basic and I wished the butter would have been more honey but it was eaten. Next time I'll try the beignets. As far as food, I ordered the salmon and exchanged the rice for a "house salad". The salmon was okay I didn't like how overcooked the bottom was and it was a little try and flavorless for me, I assume the rice helps but even when they accidentally brought out the rice bed first with the salmon it still looked the same. Maybe a drizzle of something would be nice. So I used some sauce from my partners plate which was the special "grouper " . Back to my dish first. The salad was my favorite part, very fresh and just had good flavors. As far as the grouper, it was extra cooked , not much flavor itself, the white asparagus was basic but the sauce it was laid in was really nice. Again I used it for my salmon. She wasn't a fan but she loved the bread. I would go back but it's not a must have for me. read more

I have never been to Bridgeway Station, and wow, what a cute/fun area. The vibe and interior of Rotie did not disappoint. It is not a huge restaurant, but you aren't crowded either. My girlfriends and I went for girls night, and I loved how the place was packed with women. Such a cool idea. We got the rosemary beignets, and they were really good. Loved the butter that came with it too, and the parm. Very tasty. I had the half chicken, and it was maybe the best chicken I have ever had. Seriously, I know what I am ordering next time, and the time after, because it was so good. I didn't enjoy the sides as much. I had the pomme puree and the roasted vegetables. It's strange that the mashed potatoes were flavorless and mealy, and the veggies were meh. That said, the chicken was awesome, and I will come back for that alone. read more

We started drinks and one was delicious and the other..The Toasty Coconut..not so good. I was expecting a warm dark drink and received a received a "mimosa "-esque, glass which was more of something at a Miami Brunch with grapefruit spritzer....not toasty. Not Coconutty... Thus a bad named drink . In my opinion. Just saying. Next I ordered the Tuna Tartare and my partner the Roast chicken. They Tuna and avocado was great...the plantains...not so much. For me, the freshness of Tuna and avocado did not mesh with the heavy , slightly greasy plantains. The Roast Chicken ..was well---over cooked..tough and not tender." Like rotisserie chicken should be. It was also really greasy. Small pools of grease were noted in the plate. Almost as if the extra grease was going to make the chicken more Juicy. The mashed potatoes were okay. We took our dessert home... the Butter-Beer Bread pudding to go...and we're looking forward to having it. I was hoping for the flavor similar to Butter Beer drink at Universal Studios...and ...it was awful...the sauce was blah. It was not sweet ...not Butter Beer or sweet at all and not worth the calories. So the good news is...the staff is kind and attentive. The bar is nice with one TV . I am was highly disappointed with my experience. To begin with, my beignets were served on a recycled menu, with ink that appeared to be toxic. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for the safety of their customers is extremely concerning. Rotie by Stella's is a delightful treat to enjoy a beautiful melody of French inspired, Southern foundational decor. Every dish is served on vintage dishes that perfectly imperfectly do not match. Your grandmother would love it-- don't worry. For appetizer/small plate, I shared the Rosemary Beignets with tomato bacon jam, Stella's Farmers Cheese, Pepita and my only knock against is, 1) I had to share it, 2) I wanted more bacon vibes. Did I almost lick the cast iron skillet? I debated. For drinks, I had the Rotie Sour and lordly it was a light, freshing strawberry puree. Chefs kiss. For dinner, we shared the wagyu pot roast and your grandmother will be impressed. What a delicious nod to a traditional pot roast, decided to get in bed with a perfectly marbled Wagyu select cut that was FORK TENDER. After seeing all the great reviews I finally got to try Rotie by Stellas this evening. Beautiful setting in Bridgeway Station. No reservation, busy, but seated immediately. Lots of pretty lights hung around the walls but still dimly lit. Server was very attentive and friendly. We ordered our entrees Lamb Shank, Duck and a side of Fingerling Potatoes ( 1 serving is enough for two ppl ) Server gave us two small plates to use for sharing our side. My plate was chipped. Food arrived quickly. Duck plate didn't look too appetizing , it just looked "brown" . The salad was a strange choice on the plate tbh. No flavour. The duck breast was tough but the leg was good. The orange sauce needed a kick. Bland. My Lamb Shank served in a bowl, (which was chipped! ) had three pieces of baguette inside the bowl soaking up the gravy, the bread was very hard and dry so it did help soften it. The lamb was ok but not much flavour to it. The gravy was very oily. The Fingerling potatoes were hot and delicious. $40 for Duck $26 for Lamb $12 for potatoes. The guests next to us had to move from their seats at one point so the bar attendant could retrieve a liquor bottle which is stored under their seats lol Not seen that one before lol They did apologize for the inconvenience and offered a free dessert for their trouble. We went for their first "High tea" we waited 30 min to be seated with a 12:45 reservation. Then it took 30 min to get water. 20 min later they took our bar order. Then after 45 more minutes my wife had to get the manager for us to get served. We did not get everything listed that you were supposed to get. There were 4 of us and we didn't get everything on the list we were supposed to get. The "hot food" was cold. They did not leave a tea pot on the table so we all ran out more than once. To make up for it they comped our samosas. I will try the restaurant again but not to high tea. read more

My husband and I met our sons at Rotie for dinner Friday evening 9/4/26 and from the time we entered the restaurant the host staff was friendly and very attentive as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. I ordered the special that was featured on 9/3/26 (tile fish, sweet potato mash and grilled broccolini) and it was delicious! My husband had the grilled flat iron steak with the grilled flat iron steak entree and it was also delicious. Our server was super attentive even though she seemed to be the bartender as well, I believe her name was Lilly. The manager on duty also checked in on us and who we think was the chef, came out and was very friendly. One of the best parts of the experience, was getting a loaf of yeast bread with a herbed butter a salt flakes - it was amazing and reminded me of the loaves of bread my great aunt made most weekends when I was a child! Wow- totally blown away by this place!!! We went for brunch and it was incredible, possibly a new top fave GVL brunch spot. The chicken and waffles with Nashville hot butter - amazingggg. My husband said it's the closest he's ever had to waffles in Belgium that he's tried in past travels. I felt the same about the short rib poutine -- it was by far the best poutine I've had since a past Canada trip! The short rib and the jus with it was so flavorful and juicy and the peppers brought just the right amount of heat - and the cheese curds were perfect! It was a huge portion, as well. We also tried a side of delicious grits (adluh grits aka the best!) and biscuits with gravy. The biscuits were perfectly flaky and the gravy was a great southern style sausage gravy. Overall we were truly very impressed with this place. The service was great and the ambience was so nice. The location at bridgeway station was great too. I love the decor and environment and have had some great salads and the lamb is good but there are a few items that they missed the mark on. Just leaving Roti by Stella's, meal was great, server was great until I got main course. I ordered the chicken from the pre-fix menu, it was extremely dry. The manager Anna came over and was perplexed at the dryness of the chicken. Another member of my party had the same dish and their dish looked drastically different. Server brought me sauce but my dish was cold and the chicken was actually overcooked so sauce would not have worked very well. I think the sauce was supposed to be cooked on the dish, not poured over like gravy, thus this was the servers solution. I asked that they just prepare chicken dish to go and all would be well. The manager Anna offered my companion that she would get her another order as her dish also looked quite dry. I received my to go order and the dish was half of my original order which had not been touched except to cut and verify dryness. I called the manager back to find out where is the rest of the dish. Apparently the chef or cook Justin decided to split my dish with my companion . It looks as though my entire dish was cut in half and divided into 2 kids plates. We are talking about chicken. The manager Anna was gone, the other manager wasn't sure what to do, but decided to take $15 off my meal. Why $15, when the dish cost more than $15 and I didn't eat any of it. I understood Dear Cook Justin said he would send me more potatoes. Anywho, let's say disgusting, management issues, restaurant issues, customer service issues. Won't be going back. Thanks Cook Justin, for the switch-a-roo. Hopefully you're not an owner but if I find that you are; I will be happy to share your ethics with anyone that I know. Oh did I mention I love to talk so I can't wait to share my experience. Context: I have supported Stella's in Simpsonville especially New Years Eve dinners, the location near Verdae especially during Euphoria for champagne dinners. I'm not a new diner and rarely order chicken. This cook Justin is appalling. The manager wanted to bring me yet another dish, I declined, hence I was credited $15 for a 35 or 40 dollar dish even though I ate none of the entree. Bless poor Cook Justin, I promise all was well until he decided to cut the chicken dinner in half. Thanks Cook Justin, you're a peach for ruining a wonderful night over a piece of chicken. I hope you don't bully your staff. No one wanted to say anything to you, I hope the owner's don't advocate your attitude. I actually paid and ordered a whole dish. I am attaching a picture of an untouched plate that was sent to go. All will be well at this restaurant until there is an issue with your meal. Both the manager and the server acknowledged that the meal was not appropriately prepared. I ordered the wine pairing with my meal. My group would be on the next course before wine pairing was delivered for previous dish but I didn't care, just happy to catch up with friends. The chicken thing was awful and impacted my overall experience. I normally don't order chicken when I go out, hence the chicken thing will go down in history. It was not recommended to speak with the cook Justin. By the way, this was my 2nd visit to this restaurant and the 1st time was lackluster, but felt I should try again. The rosemary beignets with butternut squash jam with herbed goat cheese and toasted pepitas was incredible. The squash tastes like the best sweet potato soufflé you'll ever have and it's served in a small cast iron bowl. Four large beignets with powdered sugar. Ridiculously good. The roasted beet and goat cheese salad was also a hit but the duck jambalaya was a miss for me. The curry overtook the dish. Very nice addition to Bridgeway Station. read more
