a couch and two tables in a lobby

The Artisan restaurant is located inside of the Greenville Marriott. I received a $10 voucher so it made sense to grab dinner at the hotel rather than venture out again. I really liked the restaurant's decor. You could seat yourself from the booth and cushy chairs to more traditional tables. The service was friendly and attentive. I wasn't very hungry so went with the smash burger and fries. I didn't realize that the burger would be two patties and as large as it was and the amount of fries was generous as well. I couldn't finish but that was ok. I'd dine at Artisan again.

Artisan is a restaurant and catering service inside the Greenville Marriott hotel. I stayed at this hotel for a recent convention, so I ate several meals at or provided by Artisan. As far as hotel breakfast go, Artisan is one of the best, especially for a hotel the size/class of the Marriott. They offer made to order omelets, eggs, and Belgian waffles. When you enter, you're given a small paper to select what you want, and a few minutes later, the server brings them out. Breakfast also includes a buffet area with ready-made eggs, bagels, pastries, cereals, fruit, grits, oatmeal, sausage, and bacon. If you're in a hurry, you can get your breakfast in a to-go box. Breakfast costs, but I believe it is included in some room rates or for Marriott Bonvoy members of a certain status. Our servers were wonderful both mornings and didn't bother us when we wanted to sit around in the breakfast area after eating. I'm glad they didn't rush us out! We also had a catered reception and a catered lunch. The catered food was ahead of chains and franchises, but it did not blow me away. I give them credit for delicious desserts, including brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and cake. The macaroni and cheese was one of the better catered versions I've had, so if you place a catering order, include that on your menu. If you're staying at the Marriott as a guest, don't pass up breakfast at Artisan. If you're hosting a conference at Marriott, the catering options are good enough to satisfy your participants and keep them on site.

Tasha had me at hello! I'll be honest. I'm super excited to have hotel restaurants and bars opening up again. But it isn't just that. We were greeted with a smile. (Under her mask of course). Sat immediately. I ordered an old fashioned. My pet peeve is the ice. I got one big square block! Yesssss! And!!!! In a hotel, had a luxardo cherry. Thank you! There apple cider beer is on point too. Don't remember the brand. But 1/3 the carbs (looked it up) as apple orchard and plenty sweet.

Great wine selection, especially for a hotel bar!

I travel for work quite often and I absolutely love it when the hotel has a halfway decent bar and restaurant. I always plan on paying more for not so great food when I dine at the hotel but the convenience factor usually evens it out. Let me say how very impressed I was with this hotel, the decor, the rooms the bed the bar and the restaurant. The bar is beautifully designed and fairly well stocked especially for a hotel bar. The food menu isn't huge but still has a pretty nice variety. The menu seemed a bit pricey at first but with inflation and the actual quality of the food the prices were actually quite reasonable. On my first visit I had the wedge salad, I love a good wedge salad and this was possibly the best one I've ever had! I wish I had taken a picture. The sautéed filet tips were tasty. My bartender Jennifer was fantastic! Very attentive and talented. The bar was fairly busy both times I visited but she never showed any signs of stress. I asked about a smoked old fashioned because I noticed on their drink menu that they had a couple of smoked drinks but no old fashioned. "Of course" she gladly replied, "what type of bourbon would you like"? She named off a few very nice selections and I went with the Woodford Reserve. It was just perfect, nicely smoked with a big square ice cube. On my second visit Jennifer was my bartender again and recommended the fresh swordfish special. It was divine! Only $29 served in a beautiful bowl with nice silverware and a cloth napkin. Every other person who I interacted with at this establishment was equally attentive, friendly and professional. I wish I had their names as well, especially a very exuberant and talented young man from the kitchen who cooked my food the first night. This will be my go to hotel whenever I am in the Greenville area and I highly recommend it.

Artisan We were PCD guests & Bmw treated us to dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was delicious, we picked from a prefixed menu. My fiancé and I ordered the grilled bistro steak and pan seared salmon, a caesar salad and house salad. We finished dinner with huge slices of dessert! I opted for the passion fruit cheesecake and he got the turtle cheesecake. Drinks were not included in the PCD BMW dinners. Our waiter was nice & personable, a bit too much since we commented on what I was doing on my cell phone. Breakfast was a big Buffett style with great options. The fruit was fresh, and not bruised. Plenty of vegetarian options. Our waitress was super friendly and refilled our much needed coffees. I really enjoyed the variety of hot food, cold options, made to order options. Not being from the south I was pleasantly surprised I could get grits for breakfast, I loaded them up with cheese and devoured a whole cup! I wish I had 6 stomachs to eat every item on the buffet.. Food: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 seating was a bit close we had to whisper dine and we could hear others Price: 3/5 - ok our meal was free but I saw the prices on the menu. Not what I would pay. Service: 4/5 or dinner waiter was nice, and I'm polite back, but we could've used less personal talk & more privacy. If we're ever in Greenville, SC we will surely be staying here again and dining at Atisan for breakfast.

Shrimp and Grits - quite delicious!

Still a fan! For a hotel restaurant, Artisan outdoes itself. Friendly staff, plenty of seating, nice atmosphere and good food to boot. I was in Greenville for 3 days this past week. The night of my arrival I was too tired to go anywhere so decided to have dinner at the bar. I was quickly greeted, brought a drink and handed a menu. While the menu is not huge it does have enough variety that I think anyone could find something they would enjoy. I was intrigued by an appetizer - fried jalapenos with avocado aioli. I asked about them because I wasn't interested in poppers. Instead these were sliced jalapenos, lightly floured and fried served with a delicious aioli. The peppers definitely had some heat (and I love spicy foods) so if you don't like heat, I would avoid. I found them delicious and not the least bit greasy for being a fried food. For dinner, I decided on Shrimp and Grits. I never had this dish until a few years ago, but since trying it, love it when it's made well. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits here. The grits were not too soupy which I appreciated. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The dish was topped with tasso ham, onions, peppers and a creamy sherry pan sauce. This also had a touch of spice, but not near as much as the jalapenos. The sauce was delicious. I had breakfast here every morning before visiting my client. The buffet offers plenty of variety to include traditional breakfast items, fruit, cheeses and all sorts of breads/muffins. There is also an omelet station where you can order whatever type of omelet your heart desires. I believe they also do hot Belgian waffles. The gentleman who seated me every morning was just delightful as were the servers and bartenders who took care of my meal. They offer Starbucks products for an extra charge. As long as I continue to come to Greenville on business, I will continue to stay at the Marriot and enjoy what Artisan offers.

Just like all the Marriott restaurants, they are quite impressive and progressive! Loyal to the Marriott brand sometimes leaves you having to eat in their lobby restaurants. This stay required that very thing which meant a meal at Artisan. Almost all of their restaurants are really well designed and this is no exception. The place is large, but still quaint due to the nooks to be seated. The bar area is large, pretty, and quite the nice hangout. Breakfast was fabulous, for which many people wouldn't know that the best bacon you'll ever eat is in a Marriott restaurant! Believe it or not, it is the best bacon you'll ever eat!

Menu options when you stay with the BMW package.

We ate here while staying at the Greenville Marriot as part of the BMW performance package. That being said the food was free for us, and it turned out to be fine for a free meal. Nothing above and beyond but hot tasty food. We had dinner for two here and it came to $67.00, which again we didn't pay so we ordered salads entrees and desserts. I had the chicken breast sandwich and it was good but not great. It was a three star chicken sandwich. Nothing special, not even any cheese or special sauces. I don't think I'd recommend it in a regular situation, but as part of the package it was a great 'free' meal.

I was hungry and didn't know what or where to eat, not like there is a lack of options, but did I want ramen or something more local in regional flare? I picked the second one. I ended up at Tupelo Honey because fresh southern fried chicken sounded amazing and this place wasn't going to break the bank. I guess this place is a chain but I didn't know this until I was eating. The staff were beyond friendly and attentive and they answered all of my questions about the food. The restaurant was super clean. I ended up ordering the half bird with original seasoning on it. The seasoning the put on it is a crystallized honey power and something else in it, it gives the chicken a nice sweet flavor but not overpowering. They also have a spicy version for you spice lovers. The half bird came with 4 pieces as one would expect, the crust was crispy and the chicken was awesome. I was eating the dark meat and couldn't get over how juicy it was. The real test as you all know is the breast, is that going to be dry? Nope, it was so moist and flavorful, it was a home run. I guess they brine their chicken for some good amount of time and it shows. My sides though I wish I would have gotten more adventurous, the meal came with two sides so I got a salad and the fried potatoes as a recommendation from the waitress. They were good but the mac n cheese looked better. Overall this place is great and I would go again. It's right downtown and the service was fast and friendly. Great place for some fried chicken .

An amazing patio overlooking one of the main streets of downtown Greenville, with a cozy interior ambiance as well. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable of the local food, drinks and their amazing wine selection. Soby's just won the Wine Spectator Grand Award (highest possible) and a Michelin recommended restaurant for 2025. And it shows. We didn't get any wine this evening, but the menu is as thick as a long novel. Anything and everything is in this puppy. Wines from all over the world, ranging from a few bucks to over $13,000 a bottle. Take your pick. We opted for some beer and cocktails, all of which were perfect. The food. This southern inspired menu with local ingredients was fantastic. We had a spicy pimento cheese app with crispy pita and pickled okra...delish! The beet and goat cheese salad was one of the best we've had. The pic speaks for itself there. The Soby's fried chicken is something you HAVE to get if you go. The best fried chicken, with the best bacon mac n cheese to complement it. Tender and juicy, crispy and flavorful...these words don't even scratch the surface of how good this dish was. Top notch experience all around. Make it a point to try it out if you haven't yet, or if you're in town for a visit. And definitely get that chicken dish, yo won't regret it.

Soby's serves Southern charm before the food even hits the table. (And if your experience is anything like mine, you will be waiting awhile for the food to hit the table.) Weathered wood beams stretch overhead, brick walls hold decades of character, and the warm lighting makes the whole room glow like butter on a hot biscuit. The kitchen hums with the kind of energy that says brunch is serious business. If you sit upstairs at the loft, there are some seats that overlook the kitchen so it's like brunch and a show. The pecan sticky bun is sweet enough to make you reconsider sharing though I wouldn't know because they ran out of it before 11:00a. Service was friendly and quick on the front end, though the kitchen's food expeditors seemed a little short-handed. The result? A slight wait that left some eggs spending a bit too much quality time under the heat lamps. My Shakshuka dish had an egg-istential crisis. Instead of that luscious over-easy river of yolk, the eggs arrived closer to hard-boiled territory--less "runny brunch bliss" and more "deviled egg audition." Thankfully, our waiter expedited another over easy egg to replace the one that came with my dish. The Providence Farm Country Fried Steak was the undeniable headliner--about 1.5 inches thick and fried to golden perfection. Smothered in sausage gravy, it was the kind of dish that makes cardiologists nervously flip through their calendars. The flavor? Steak-ing its claim as one of the better country fried steaks around. The sunny-side egg, however, had clearly spent a little too long basking beneath the warming lights alongside my shakshuka. But, if you come for one thing only, let it be the white chocolate banana cream pie. As I've heard Southern Belles say in gest, "it'll make you wanna slap your mama." In short: rustic atmosphere, an energetic kitchen, and Southern food that doesn't just butter you up--it grits straight to the point.
