Unless you're a guest at the Hotel Hartness, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Beautiful setup. Bar sitting, big small medium size tables. Pretty place ! Service was tired for a weekday dinner at 7pm. We had to request attention to order our drinks more than twice. The waitress told her to call her teammate who told us that it was with her after all. They share the tips but who's confused here ? They don't serve or can't make the same drinks as the ones listed at the hotel bar, so if you come from there, don't expect the same drink menu. I had their Wild Mushroom Bruschetta. Their ricotta and overpowered the mushrooms, the tomatoes, and what truffle ? The amount of ricotta I left could be enough for two more appetizers. The bread was having a hard time to stay crispy with all the ricotta (was it supposed to be?) and was served all mushed. Nothing memorable. But I was with great company, so the people definitely made up my time there. read more

I can not rave enough about this secret, classy gem of a dinning experience! First & foremost, when you walk into Patterson it is a buffet for the eyes. A truly beautiful restaurant! Sadly I didn't get pics of my food but I am telling you if you are in the Breenville area, THIS is where you want to be! You can tell the chef cares about what he/she is doing and the service was spectacular! I started with the bread service, worth $9- no, but still delicious, then I just had a smorgasbord of appetizers each one better than the one before, possibly the best shrimp cocktail I've ever eaten, and alive in Florida! I don't give out five starts often but... My husband and I celebrated 45 years of marriage yesterday and I suggested we try Patterson Kitchen & Bar. FROM THE TIME WE WALKED JN THE DOOR...it was EXCELLENT!! We were warmly greeted by the staff and they wished us a Happy Anniversary throughout the night as it ALL of them knew it was our anniversary. The decor and ambiance were EVERYTHING...a whole yummy vibe!! I ordered the Grouper, which was my first time ever ordering or tasting and it was DELICIOUS!!! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband ordered the pork chop which he really enjoyed! And to top everything off, our server bought us a chocolate dessert for our anniversary. My son suggested this spot to us earlier this year and I'm glad we finally got the chance to check it out. We will definitely be back! Oh! We had a wonderful meal here last night, we were staying in the adjacent hotel. The space is beautiful and our server was great. Noise is manageable and seating is creative with booths, high tops, and cooking counter views. Food - we had beet salad, burata salad, tuna, duck. All unique takes on each plate and was especially surprised with the tuna - curry with roasted vegetables and toasted chickpeas was delightful to the eye and pallet. Great new upscale spot on the Eastside! The hotel hartness where it's located is very chic and beautiful. Definitely a great date night place. We enjoyed some great cocktails at the bar before being seated for dinner. The wine list was also extensive and they had some good craft beer options too. So this is off the beaten path and not downtown Best bet is put the address in your GPS and follow. There is supposedly valet parking but we did not notice..and we were hoping there would be due to a cold night...anyway... so we parked in the hotel lot and walked to the hotel ( this building we guessed correctly).. then through the hotel across a courtyard to the restaurant. So now ...if you are dining with others who have difficulty walking.. this may be an issue. Once we arrived we we were seated to the left of kitchen. There is a long both and they broke it up into 4 two top tables... This is nice for the restaurant but for the 4 tables we felt like we were all eating together separated by 6 inches on either side. This is not great.. there is no private conversation going to be had. Beware of this situation. Anyways... We had a great espresso martini and some well suggested wine. The staff is very attentive and works as a team..water is constantly refilled. Lol Our pear salad was delicious and one is plenty to share between two people We both ordered the same entree ... The tuna dish ..this was delicious with a Mediterranean spice and root vegetables. It is large and we each took 1/2 of it home. Dessert we selected the Earl grey cheesecake....it was good not great... especially for the price . if you are looking for a eclectic upscale night out on the town and aware that this may cost a little bit more money than your average place.... You should check this place out. We would actually like to go back during the spring or summer to check out the sunset and possibly eat outdoors. I would suggest reservations and hopefully you can get a table more private than what we had. read more

We celebrated a shared birthday last night with family at Patterson Kitchen + Bar. This was our second time dining at Patterson's. The aesthetic is dark with soft lighting and eclectic art. Well staffed with attentive help. We needed to switch seating arrangements due to disability and they accommodated quickly. Our waitress was Shania, who was positive, kind, mindful and fun. We had several party members who wanted the osso bucco but it's popular and had run out (so order that early of you think you want it). We ended up ordering the filet, pork belly, rare tuna, and the homemade pasta. Everything was excellent. We recommend filet and pork belly. We also had the bread service and beets/burrata apps. We recommend both. For drinks, we had the seasonal old fashioned (think added fall flavors like maple syrup, anise Star) with smoked treatment, rye & berry, and a specialty chocolate martini with espresso (made to order). I recommend the rye & berry of those 3. Management celebrated with us with a gift of the 3 desserts for the table, which was very classy. We'll definitely be back. read more

First visit and the four of us had some highs and some lows. Very attractive place but by 8 pm we struggled to hear each other due to the bar noise. Overall the pricing didn't match the experience. For $12 we got a small basket of bread that was nothing special. On a positive note, the she crab soup was delicious and my divers scallops fettuccine was amazing but at $48 the portion was small so I had to snack as soon as I got home. Two of our guests got the half chicken and one was cooked just right and the other one was not done in the center. To have bar in the restaurant name there was a very limited beer selection but decent wine and craft cocktails. I must say I expected much more considering the hotel quality. I live about the same distance from here as in downtown Greenville and there are so many more better options that I won't likely return but I'm glad we went. read more

We really enjoyed our dinner at Patterson Kitchen and Bar. Food was fantastic. Just a few missteps with service were the only things keeping me from giving the restaurant 5 stars. Starting with the cocktails... they were very good. A little slow to be served (we saw them ready, sitting at the bar, for several minutes before our server picked them up), but the wait was worth it. I was a little disappointed to see that the blue cheese olives that I asked for were for an additional charge - not because that is unreasonable, but because I got two with my first martini but only one with my second. A little inconsistency like that isn't a big deal with a free garnish, but if you are paying for it, I would think that the quantities would be consistent. Fortunately, the drinks were consistent between the first and second - consistently excellent! The food was incredible across the board. We started with the Farm Vegetables - I haven't had anything quite like it. First, it was huge - large even for sharing between two people. It was also a beautiful dish and had such a variety of tastes and textures. There were several colors of cauliflower, broccolini, radishes, tomatoes, beets, carrots, green beans, an unidentified leafy green, almonds and bits of soft cheese, all nestled on a bed of pumpernickel crumbs. The vegetables were a mix of raw, lightly cooked, and pickled and the breadcrumbs added a lot of interest. Just a terrific dish! Following this, I had the Bone-in Duroc pork chop and Amy had the rare, seared tuna. Both were very good. Amy said the tuna was some of the best she'd ever had and loved the curry sauce that came with it. My pork could have been cooked a hair less, but it was still juicy and had a very flavorful charred crust. The mix of vegetables that came with the pork was a great accompaniment. Finishing the meal, we had the banana pudding. It didn't look like any banana pudding I've ever had, but had all the flavors - though better! Really a great dessert! As far as service goes, it was a bit slow. I really don't like a meal where you are rushed between courses, but I think the gap between our appetizer plates being picked up and the main courses arriving was around half an hour - which seemed just a bit much, especially considering that by that time the restaurant was only about half full. We also had to request our second round of drinks, instead of having it suggested. While our server was very personable and friendly, it just seemed like not quite the level of service you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The low point of the evening, however, came after we left the restaurant. We had used the valet and when we went to get our car, we saw that it was pulled around front, but there was no valet in sight. The doors were locked and we had no key, so we waited around about five minutes or so, thinking the valet would reappear. Finally, I went back to the restaurant and was told that the valet left earlier and had left the keys there at the restaurant's front desk. So we finally got our keys. But the worst part is that, right before leaving the restaurant the first time, I asked the hostess if there was a charge for the valet parking - she told me "No", that it was complimentary. That would seem to have been a perfect time to tell me about the valet leaving and that they had our keys, but no. It was a very strange experience to close out a really terrific meal. We'll definitely be back, but really hope that they tighten up a few things on the service side so that this place can really be the five-star restaurant that it is so close to being. read more

What a hidden gem. The food, the wait staff and overall ambiance were stellar. Kat the sever made us feel as special as their executive chefs talent. To start we had the burrata which had eggplant and a basil reduction, so good. I had the coconut curry Ahi Tuna for an entree was so unique and well balanced. My mom had the pork tenderloin with a strawberry pico which was also delicious. It was also wine Wednesday which meant 15% off on all bottles (we had the prisoner which is our old faithful). I'm usually not big on hotel restaurants, but this place was pretty good. Came for dinner with several friends and was kinda surprised when I opened the menu. The hotel is very nicely appointed, so I guess the prices reflected the high-end atmosphere. Service was very good, although I thought the menu was kinda limited. I wanted a burger, but not offered for dinner. So I ended up ordering the Delmonico ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Steak was cooked medium rare as specified and it was very good. Most ribeyes have several pieces of stringy fat that aren't edible, but not this one, so it was definitely a better cut of beef. Would have liked a nice salt crust/char, but not sure exactly how they cooked it (sous vide maybe?). Potatoes and asparagus were good, but nothing special about them. Good meal overall. read more

My favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere! The vibes are great, especially when the sun is setting, since the walls are giant windows. I've been here twice, and both times it was extremely lively and delicious. I got the Duck Cavatelli and it did not disappoint. The service was a little bit slow, but understandable for a new place. We ate here last night. The venue is quite nice - transitional decor, high ceilings, but not too noisy. Simone waited on our table. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Two of us had the stuffed squash blossom small plate special - very scrumptious! Lightly crisp with a rich and flavorful goat cheese filling. I had rare seared tuna - generous cubes of perfectly seared tuna with a delicious sauce. Drinks are on the expensive side - $12-18. Our straight backed semi-circular booth was strangely uncomfortable. Built for looks, rather than comfort, I guess. We'll definitely eat here again! read more

Wow, this place was great! Three of us ate there last night and were blown away by the entire experience. The service was stellar, the ambience great, and the food was fantastic. We shared the oysters and cucumber salad. Bothe were great. I had a Cesear salad and it may have been the best one I've ever had. I also had the Tuna and it was fabulous. We tried some of their signature cocktails and they did not disappoint. It is a bit pricey, but I felt that it was a good deal considering the service and food quality. As a visitor from Phoenix, in Greer to visit family, I had the opportunity for a Patterson's experience. Not just a meal, each course stood on its own as a singular feature. A window wall framing a reflective pond beyond, coupled with simple, yet creative, lighting, created an unfussy, comfortable, upscale atmosphere. Genesis was our server attending to all our requests, and skillfully answering all our questions with a level of friendly ease and comfort that made us want to invite her to join us. Juan, the restaurant manager, gave us a warm greeting when we arrived, soon stopped by our table for a moment to check in with us and made a wine suggestion when we could not decide. The hostess, Gwen, was a delight, charming us from the first "hello" with her French accent and bubbly personality. We watched her making her way through the restaurant from table to table ensuring her guests were contented, leaving each table with a little Gwen spirit. The menu offered a crab dip served with a Gruyere Bechamel and I was sold, as I simply cannot turn down a Bechamel. With the addition of bacon and spinach, it did not disappoint and was a delectable starter. The Farm Vegetables dish has to be one of the most unique vegetable presentations I have ever seen. Vegetables atop molasses-toasted pumpernickle crumbs did, indeed, resemble the "soil" as described and offered one of the texture intrigues of this dish. The melon dish had the sweetest melon with additional pops of flavor from the feta and tomatoes. Our entrees were something about which I literally wrote home. It seemed the Seared Salmon had purposely been prepared to create flavor and texture explosions on the palate and I was fascinated with the combination of marinated tomatoes and olives, caper relish, couscous and carmelized onions. My dinner partner chose the center cut filet and raved. Of course, I had to taste and could not believe the delicate nature of that bite- buttery smooth, beyond tender and cooked to oh-my-gosh perfection. Nearing the end, we asked to see, and were generously greeted by, the chef, Veronica. We regaled her with our meal experience and I jested, telling her that the salmon was so wonderful that I could have had another for dessert. She lit up, appreciating the acknowledgement of her culinary talents. Patterson's was a destination; an experience to be enjoyed slowly and fully. We appreciated and savored each moment. read more
