Staff is very kind and attentive. The spicy tuna roll was very good. Two of us ordered the cedar plank salmon. It was fresh tasting.But honestly kinda bland and we highly doubted that it was cooked on a cedar plank. In my experience, typically, it's served on the Cedar plank as part of the Plating. It wasn't and did not have that taste to it. Granted, this is my first time at this place.. I think it's worth another. I've been to Bricktop's twice now and have really enjoyed both times! It's a great, mid-priced restaurant to have a nice dinner to celebrate an occasion or to bring your family when they're in town. The servers both times were wonderful, super friendly and informative. It's a super popular spot, so I recommend making a reservation. The wait for the food can be long as well, so I would not come starving or in a hurry. The only real thing I dislike about the restaurant is that when it's crowded, it gets really loud and becomes difficult to hold a conversation with raising your voice or borderline yelling. We ordered the bread and deviled eggs for appetizers. I LOVED the deviled eggs, the filling was so creamy and well seasoned. For entrees, we got the crab cakes, ribeye, and ribs. They are not skimpy on the crab meat in the crab cakes and the order comes with two pieces and a side (I had fries). Sometimes I worry about being full after ordering crab cakes at some restaurants, but this is definitely a good amount of food. The remoulade sauce is tasty-- though this time it felt heavy on the horseradish and burned my nose haha The ribs are so tender and very flavorful. The portion is huge! The ribeye steak is also very good, but I noticed that there tends to be a little more pink than expected, so it might be worth asking for it to be cooked a bit longer if that's your thing. I'm sure it's at the correct internal temperature, but for me, the pink color can be off-putting. The potatoes au gratin had a ridiculous amount of cheese. The cookie skillet for desert is a must! It's gooey and comes with a scoop of ice cream. Definitely get that to share! My partner also ordered the key lime pie, and it does not taste artificial. It really had the tartness from the citrus. Overall would recommend coming here if you're going with your family to celebrate something. Returned to Bricktop's with a large group around 11am on a Saturday. Most important thing to note is that they don't offer brunch on Saturdays. This wasn't a problem, as their lunch menu was still delightful. I got a Caesar Salad with salmon, it was wonderful! Another person in my party got the Bistro Chicken. The presentation was spectacular. Both of our entrees were cooked to perfection. We also got a crowd favorite appetizer (as you can see from the hand reaching in to the frame) - the deviled eggs with candied bacon. The bacon looked much different from the first time we came here a couple of years ago, but still contained the same level of deliciousness. Ask for a table for 2, in a mostly empty restaurant, and "we are experiencing a 15 minute or more wait (with nobody waiting)". Unfortunately, the barbecue chicken salad entree didn't quite land. It arrived with an overwhelming amount of dressing, making it difficult to eat. Our server was kind and offered to bring something else, which was appreciated, though I declined. Where things fell a little short was at the end of the meal when the dish remained on the bill. For a restaurant at this level, a small gesture of goodwill when a dish misses the mark can make a big difference in how a guest feels walking out the door. Overall a decent experience with some bright spots, and the staff was genuinely friendly but didn't offer to take off the salad that couldn't be eaten. My husband and I came in for snacks + drinks while walking around downtown. We've walked by this place many times and had walked in once before around dinner time and the place was wayyy too packed so this time we walked in around 5pm (on a Saturday), before the dinner rush. The bar here is designed beautifully and is very lively. It was already pretty busy at 5pm but we were lucky enough to find just 2 seats at the bar. We ordered prickly pear margarita and gin and tonic, and both were excellent - not overly sweet and made with just the right amount of alcohol. Since the bar area is pretty big, there are multiple bartenders and they're quick and attentive. We ordered Crazy Tuna roll and Hollywood roll and both came out quickly and were delicious. Most people sitting at the bar were ordering sushi and/or appetizers with drinks. To get an actual table on a weekend evening, I think you'd have to have a reservation or wait a while (1+ hours). I cannot comment on the entrees but we will definitely be coming back for more drinks and small bites! read more

Visited downtown Greenville today for the first time. My nephew directed us to the Bricktop for lunch. We got there shortly after noon. It wasn't crowded so we got seated right away. Lucy our server greeted shortly after seating. I want to give her a shout out. She was awesome! Very attentive and took care of us very well from start to finish.... Thank you Lucy!!! We started with the deviled eggs with millionaire bacon. Perfectly delicious and the bacon was sticky, sweet and yummy! For entrees I ordered the Tavern Burger with fries, my wife ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. My nephew order the same and his wife ordered steak frites. My burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. The shoestring fries were hot and very well prepared. My wife and nephew enjoyed the meatloaf and his wife said the steak was cooked and was very good. Overall it was a wonderful meal and experience. We had a 5 pm reservation and were put on the patio with the sun baking my back and my husband's eyes - it was pretty quiet inside and on the patio but we wanted to people-watch so we sucked it up. Our server was an absolute doll (Kaylie? Something with a K) and really made our dinner fun and special. I didn't have a chance to scope out the restrooms or the rest of the interior, but the patio was nothing to write home about. The crispy brussel sprouts that were a side dish, we chose to have as an appetizer. They're good but VERY oily. I had cedar-plank salmon (yum!) and the sauteed spinach on the side was a big ol' yawn. My spouse had the ribeye with the biggest, mutant baked potato I'd ever seen, but the menu said that it was meant to be a twice-baked potato. Oh well! Honestly I'm not sure you could go wrong with anything on the menu. This is now a downtown staple for us! **update: we have been back a few times now and have had very hit or miss experiences since the first two times we went. The bistro chicken was incredibly dry with very little flavor. My fiancé got the prime rib again and it came out cold, he sent it back and got a slightly warmer piece, but still not very warm. And I ordered an old fashioned that was way too sweet, my second one I asked them to go lighter on the simple syrup and it was a little better. My favorite sandwich in the entire world is a French Dip. I've had many bad ones but Bricktops was outstanding. Prime rib beef, buttered toasted bun, NO cheese or anything else, which is the correct way to make a French Dip. The interior is absolutely beautiful, elegant but welcoming. This was our first visit and it was a great experience from start to finish. We had 6:30 Saturday reservations and checked in about 6:20-6:25. The place was packed with a few other parties waiting as well. It was much nicer inside than I'd anticipated. Beautiful bar area with lit shelving and nice lighting throughout. We were sat between 6:30-6:35. We shared the tempura large shrimp (6 of them) with a sweet and spicy sauce over a bed of shaved lettuce with yumyum sauce. My wife and I loved it. The tempura batter was perfect. Crunchy & light. For dinner my wife had the lazy lobster tails. She chosen to have one baked and the other fried. Being Mainers, we'd never had fried lobster tails. It was delicious! The lobster was tender and juicy and the coating was nicely crunchy and not greasy at all. The fries were like larger potato sticks, cooked perfectly. I chose to have sushi and ordered the tempura shrimp with asparagus topped with filet mignon and yumyum sauce. It was incredible. A large roll sliced into 8 pieces. For dessert we shared the key lime pie and the carrot cake. Both were generous servings. The key lime had a very nice lime flavor without being too sweet on a graham macadamia nut crust. The carrot cake was served warm with a wonderful cream cheese frosting and drizzle of caramel. It was also topped with a toasted coconut topping. Wow! It was so good we ordered one to go for our daughter. I had 2 Manhattans that were well made and served timely in a chilled glass. Rating: 4/5 The Shanghai shrimp appetizer was freshly cooked and packed with flavor. You get six generously sized shrimp, which is a nice portion. Rating: 4/5 The calamari was fresh and tasty, and the sauces they provided complemented it well. Rating: 3/5 The eggs were decent, but the bacon served with them was cold and would have been much better hot. The green sauce really enhanced the flavor of the eggs. I noticed that they cut the eggs sideways rather than the top-to-bottom style we usually do at home. Rating: 2/5 The cedarwood plank salmon, paired with twice-baked potatoes and Brussels sprouts, was disappointing. The salmon was dry and lacked flavor, while the Brussels sprouts were burnt and flavorless. Their version of "crispy" seemed more like burnt. However, the potato was quite good, and mixing it with the salmon helped. Honestly, I could have saved money and gone to LongHorn instead; their salmon and Brussels sprouts would definitely have been better. Rating: 4/5 The bistro chicken with whipped potatoes and spinach was quite good. The chicken was moist, the whipped potatoes were enjoyable, and the spinach had great flavor--definitely a dish I would order again. Unfortunately, our seating arrangement meant that everyone walking behind me bumped into my chair throughout the evening, which was quite annoying.
