This is now my top restaurant in the greater Greenville area. I was blown away. Every aspect of the meal killed it. Incredibly ingredients, combinations of flavors, and superb service. Kollin the bar manager, and our bar tender for the evening was awesome, he even wrote down a recipe for me! I could eat here every single day. Vibe of the place was approachable yet refined. I'm almost hesitant to say try this place out because it'll make it harder for me to book my next reservation!

The French toast was a let down. It wasn't very sweet or flavorful. It was kinda bland which I think is really hard to do for French toast. ‍ Shrimp & grits was okay, I've had better. It came with okra in it, which I didn't like. I don't like okra bc it tastes slimy to me, but their okra was the best I've ever had. I still picked it out but I did try it at least. The other two entrees were my families food. Pretty basic eggs, sausage and potatoes, so I'm assuming it was good. Atmosphere was gorgeous! Staff was friendly and professional. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion just because the food definitely was lacking in flavor and value.

My husband and I went here for brunch for an early anniversary celebration on a Saturday. Ambiance was great with some live music on the patio, our server was also great and very attentive. Unfortunately that's where the good parts ended. We got an Irish coffee and a Bloody Mary to start, both terrible. Irish coffee was very watered down (he did get it cold rather than hot) so maybe that's why, and my Bloody Mary had almost no flavor other than tomato juice/puree and a bit of vodka. We got biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and the croque madame for our entrees, both were really bad and I don't say that often. The gravy on his tasted almost like a hollandaise sauce, kind of lemony and dill rather than sausage/umami. My croque madame was super dry, toast was burnt on the outside, the ham had almost no flavor, and my egg was very overcooked. For a Michelin recommended restaurant, this was definitely underwhelming/overpriced and not what we were expecting. We will probably try out the dinner menu but would not be back for brunch.

Everything was perfect for a Mother's Day breakfast. The food, drinks and server were spot on. Highly recommended!

Drove to Traveler's Rest to do the touristy thing and walk around on Memorial Day weekend! Waited five minutes for help with seating on what seemed like not very busy for Sunday brunch time. Cute place, casual ambiance, servers nice and attentive, menu seems overpriced. We ended up ordering topsoil breakfast and eggs, potatoes and sour dough toast. Food decent but nothing different from what could be a free hot continental breakfast at the hotel. Mushroom chickpea patty was disappointing. Not impressed.

We loved our experience at Topsoil for brunch!! Our waitress was so kind and attentive, and our food was delicious!

My review is based on eating brunch here on a Saturday. The staff immediately seemed so welcoming and cheerful. The menu was explained and my server was aware of my raw tomato allergy since I'd made a reservation with Resy. The space was nice but felt casual and comfortable. I decided to get the breakfast sandwich with a veggie patty. I do eat meat but for some reason, the veggie option just sounded really good. I liked that the English muffins are made in house along with as many of the components as possible and using local ingredients. The veggie patty was mildly spicy and had a very flavorful Indian spice profile. The breakfast potatoes were excellent as well. I did need to ask for my tea to be refilled. That was my only "complaint" about the experience. I will definitely be coming again for brunch sometime soon. It is on the pricey side but I thought the quality and the fresh local ingredients justified that price. They aren't just reheating frozen and delivered items. They are actually preparing interesting menu items and supporting local farms as well. The portion size was also filling, you can see from my photo that they actually give a decent amount of potatoes. While the menu was small, I think it offered a nice variety of sweet and savory, lighter meals and more hearty options. I got a cinnamon roll to go and it was also excellent. I like when the server is familiar with the food on the menu and can give recommendation or answer questions. So based on my experience, I'd highly recommend Topsoil!

Whole wheat carrot pancakes with South Carolina Peaches (candied with rum) and house made granola.

Y'all. OMG. The whole grain carrot pancakes are perfect. The cake, itself, melts in your mouth (even with a nice crisp exterior). I'm not usually a sweets person, even for brunch, but this was a great choice to share with the table as a starter! Visiting the South, I was drawn to the grits. Today's dish was Shrimp and Grits with a Creole creamy saucy. Fantastic! Literally as good as shrimp and grits from New Orleans. Even better. Whether it's the frittata, the hash, or the grits, do yourselves a favorite and try out the house made hot sauce. Seems like a vinegar base, but has a perfect bite without destroying your entire throat. They even sell it so you can take it home!

    Squash soup

From start to finish, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. The starter mackerel dip was phenomenal. My squash soup was so good I wanted to move into it. My beef cheek entree was so unexpected and tasty. Our waiter was perfect and has fabulous recommendations for wine and the meal. He even brought us an anniversary beverage with dessert. So thoughtful and great setting. Loved this experience.

    Brussel sprouts and mushroom dish

First time experience and enjoyed the whole thing. Staff was fantastic explaining drinks and food . We loved that they are a very true farm to table. They have a tastings type menu...pick an item from small.plates, entree and dessert($65). You can add wine pairings for $25. These were all excellent.. the mushroom and brussel sprout dish is amazing along with the beets and berries salad. The sauces that accompany the dishes are super tasty as the chef appears to have painstakingly taken time to perfect. We loved that the chef was there to see and approve each entree coming out of the kitchen....and at times--- unacceptable dishes were sent back to be fixed. The sommelier wine pairings were perfect with the dishes...admittedly I would not drink some of these on their own but the pairings were spot on. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable . Two minor points to note....if you aren't even a bit of a foodie....the menu may be "too scary.." There appears to be no simple menu regular staples . The second concern was we sat at the bar and while comfortable....the bar seats ( with backs) sit a bit low. With all that being said ...wewill totally visit again!!!

It is found tucked behind the building with only a small, letter-sized paper sign marking the entrance. No flashy signage, no obvious storefront, which adds to the appeal if you're into that kind of hunt. Walking up to it late at night can be a little intimidating but it is well lit which I greatly appreciated! Once inside, the space is dimly lit and small, which makes for a genuinely intimate setting. I'd say it's good for a quieter, more conversational vibe rather than a loud night out. We went with the bartender's choice: pick a base liquor, then two words to describe what you're after. I went with vodka and "slightly sweet, refreshing," for $18. The bartender nailed the brief but it wasn't a drink I'd think about again or specifically order by name. Solid execution, forgettable flavor. Service was the real standout. Our bartender was excellent at walking us through the concept and translating vague requests into something that actually worked. That, plus the atmosphere, is enough to bring me back to see what else is on the menu since we made it there just in time for last call so I ended up only having one drink.

The refried beans tasted like a typical Mexican restaurant around here, which is not a bad thing at all. The only disappointing part of the meal was the chicken in the fajitas. In the meantime we watched some sort of drama play out between what appeared to be the manager, waitress and 2 guys at a booth. About 5 minutes later the waitress came and got our drink order and we ordered an appetizer at the same time. The appetizer (queso) was immediately brought out by a different waitress. Still no drinks. A little bit and another third waitress comes over and asks what we'd like to drink (2nd time drink order) so we tell her. I will just say, she was super friendly, unlike the first two, she did an amazing job. Now on to the food. Queso, little on the bland side but ok. Quesadillas, they were hot and decent as far as that goes. They were large. The rice tasted like uncle Ben's bag rice.
