The staff was the best part! They were friendly, attentive, and all in costume (which was cute). I revived drink recommendations and tried 2. Both were good. Purple Rain (smoother) and the Blackberry Lemon Drop (sharper). There are many more that look delicious, too, so I'll try more one day. We started with the collard green dip appetizer and that was our favorite food item. It was served with seasoned (and warm!) pita chips. I only wish it was a little thicker. Our entrees had good portions and came out hot. I enjoyed the jerk salmon overall but wish the meat itself had its own flavor too. The jerk did it all in this case. The collard greens were good to me (my guy wished for less salt/seasoning). My guy had the lamb chops, greens, and mashed potatoes. He was okay with everything but not in love with anything but that dip! All in all I think we will return to try more of the menu and I'll certainly be back to try the cocktails.

Our first Uber Eats order on 08/27 was never received by the restaurant after we waited over an hour. We gave them another chance on 08/29. The first driver waited an hour and was told the restaurant never accepted the order in time, and ask if I could reorder it. The second driver was then told they didn't have my order because I had supposedly canceled it. I called the restaurant, explained the situation calmly to Noah who advised he knew exactly of the situation and was transferred to the manager. His response? "I don't even know what's going on. I just walked in the door." He then insisted it was "obviously an Uber Eats problem, not an us problem" and condescendingly suggested that "maybe we should try another ordering platform." So, we should find another platform because your restaurant failed to accept the order? Ironically, another employee could be heard telling the manager that multiple Uber Eats drivers were experiencing the same issue. The manager then abruptly hung up on me. Three hours after placing the order, we finally received our food--with half of the order missing. Technology issues happen. Mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of accountability and the way the customer was treated. Add in small portions and food that was honestly underwhelming, and there is simply nothing here that justifies the experience. I wanted to support this business. I really did. But good food cannot compensate for poor customer service, disrespect, and refusing to take responsibility when something clearly goes wrong. I would not recommend this restaurant, particularly to anyone relying on delivery.

It's a nice twist using a grit cake as opposed to traditional shrimp and grits but the flavor of the tomato and chorizo gravy along with the texture of the crispy grit cake was an interesting and nice change from the norm. I will definitely go back and try additional entrees. Overall, all the dishes were well put together, well seasoned and paired with a nice wine list that had variety for all tastes. When we went to use the offer, the manager, Tyler, would only apply it to the cheapest item on the table -- a $4 soup my dad ordered -- instead of the actual appetizer I purchased, which was around $12. That feels misleading and frustrating. The whole reason I signed up for the rewards program was because it offered a free appetizer, not a discount on whatever the restaurant decides is cheapest. When I brought it up, Tyler refused to correct it. I'm also a military veteran, and while I don't expect special treatment, I do expect a business to honor the promotion they advertise and treat loyal customers fairly. We were weekly customers, and this left a really bad impression. Instead of honoring the advertised reward in a reasonable way, it felt like they were trying to avoid giving the actual benefit.
