They're known for their amazing food, margaritas, and just about everything you could ask for, all at decent prices! It's always a treat when great service elevates the whole dining experience, and David absolutely did that. Even on National Margarita Day! We ordered the house margarita, the birria taco, and a side of rice, and everything hit the spot. The margarita was refreshing and well-balanced, the birria was tender and flavorful, and even the rice had that comforting, homemade feel that rounds out a meal perfectly. Between the warm service and the tasty food, El Cielo is definitely a spot I'll return to. A great night from start to finish.

I had the black bean burrito bowl and it was a nice blend of black beans, rice, grilled yellow and red peppers and a ton of queso. A bit heavy on the queso but still enjoyable. First time I've ever been charged for chips & salsa - they're always free in GA. I liked the thin crispy chips. On a Friday at 2pm, the place was empty. Not sure why as it seems like a decent place.

I've tried many different menu items, and I consistently walk away disappointed. Similar to other Mexican restaurants in Spartanburg, the food is unbearably bland. I can somewhat excuse blandness because if that's the local palette, that's the local palette. But what I can't excuse is the downright disrespectful lack of effort placed into the food. The prices are not nearly low enough for menu items to have poorer garnishing than Taco Bell items. Service is good when dining in and kind of awful when trying to order takeout. I've gotten bad attitudes or incorrect orders far too many times. I really don't understand the ratings of the local Mexican restaurants. Do Spartanburg residents prefer bland food? Am I being unfair? I don't think so. The nearby La Poblanita Mex food truck is vastly superior in every single way and serves the quality Mexican food that I've grown accustomed to eating.

The staff were very welcoming upon our arrival and sat us immediately. Our server was new and still learning, but very sweet. The interior is muted in colors, which makes the food and bev the centerpiece. Tequila Town is slightly more upscale than your typical Mexican restaurant. Small touches elevate the experience, and there are options I've never seen on a Mexican restaurant menu like ceviche and multiple dishes with octopus. If you're looking to try Mexican cusine you've never had before, this could be a great spot for you! For me, the cost for that is higher than I expected. We started off with chips and salsa, and ordered a cheese dip. Our margaritas were good, though they did take a while to deliver, as they are made fresh and not from a pre-made mix. For entrees, I got the Chori-Pollo and my partner got the Burrito California. Both came with a small side of queso which was a nice touch. The portions were a good size and we had leftovers, which I always love. Next time, I'll branch out and get something I've never had before, but wanted to judge it first on dishes I already know and love. Good, not incredible, but I will be back to give it another shot after they get into their groove a little more!
