I was going to the burger joint next door but the Tipsy Taco was calling my name. It was the late lunch hour on a Sunday so the crowd was light. Inside looks like a good time would be had. There's a split bar with one side inside the restaurant and the other on the outside. I always love that look. I ordered the bang bang, Cabo wabo and magic mushroom tacos. Ordered all three on corn tortillas. I also ordered a 10 oz mixed berry colada. The drink was bigger than I imagined it would be. It was good though. My favorite of the tacos was the bang bang. I got the shrimp fried, which was the best decision. I enjoyed the magic mushroom but there were a lot of ingredients and I really couldn't taste any true flavor. I did like the Cabo wabo but the fish flavor was not really there for me. This really should be the vegetarian taco as the cabbage, aioli and pickled onions tasted great! Service was good. I was hungry for tacos. I searched and found the Tipsy Taco. Nice and bright paint color scheme. Bar off to the right of the front door. Co-worker joined me for lunch. We were seated and waited on within 3 minutes. Brittany was our server, she was polite and knowledgeable. She delivered our drink refills before our originals were half empty ! We started with chips and salsa. I would love to have this when tomatoes are In season, the flavors would be more vibrant. I understand they can only work with what they can get! My coworker had 2 Buffalo Chicken tacos with rice. He was pleased with the flavor. I over indulged! Just so I could give an appropriate review! All of my taco were corn shell tacos. 1- Nashville Hot : you'll need a napkin, good flavor; could have had more heat for me, but still good. 2- Greek: chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta, and sauce. These flavors are always a good combination, even in a taco. There were two shells with each taco, definitely will need the second one for this taco! 3,4- Birria Tacos with consume' : these were so good! 5- Street corn on the cob (also offered off the cob) (not a taco) I thought it was a little over cooked and lacking in flavor. It's somewhere else! The service here sucks. On a Thursday evening I ordered two tacos and an order of refried beans. The server told me it would be 5 to 10 minutes. I wish! Try 20 minutes! One of the most nastiest taco places the service was horrible took long to get my food it came out cold it was just horrible.

If you love pricey food and drinks this is a great place. One taco will cost you upwards of $7 and a drink combination can be as much as $18! Staff were friendly...and patient as we went through the menu. My group all ordered tacos (it was one taco per person) and they were all good; basically a chicken tender on a tortilla with some cabbage and a sauce. read more

I stopped in just to check it out and try their margaritas. I opted for the margarita flight to sample. They were all fresh and delicious without any "mix" or chemical taste. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good. There are a lot of TV's and the atmosphere is bright, colorful, and open. The place is small but inviting. Took the wife here on our way home to Indiana from Florida because we wanted some tacos and tequila. We were not disappointed. The tacos are a little pricey, but they taste really good. There are several options and it was hard to choose. Service was friendly, although our server was the bartender and he seemed a little over his head. Whomever opened this place was far more than tipsy! They were outright drunk! The tacos look like they were made for a Barbie. Seriously they were super tiny! I will say we all got a good laugh when we opened our bag of food and saw our miniature tacos. Paying $7.00-8.00 for ONE tiny tiny taco was insane! The corn was good tho. Service was solid, our server did a great job taking care of our party of 7. The worst part is the pricing, it's outrageously high. Food was very good and well seasoned. Had the enchiladas the Surf & Turf fajitas. The person delivering our food from the kitchen was courteous/friendly. However, the brunette with glasses & red restaurant shirt manning the bar where we sat, was the opposite, virtually ignored us all night. (She had no name tag) Some requests were ignored until our 2nd request. She never asked me about a 2nd beer. The bar wasn't busy. Horrible service including never taking the dirty dishes away. We have eaten at a Tipsy Taco in Georgia several years ago and don't really remember that much about it but as I've said before-I always look at the positives of everything. I'm not going to say anything bad about a place-I just won't review it. We recently stopped by the Tipsy Taco in Greer/Lyman (not sure which) on the way home from an Eagles concert in Charlotte and it was good. We shared some queso and chips and salsa and had Margaritas. They were the best! Toasted, crunchy coconut on the rims of the glasses and pineapple-coconut in them-not the classic ones. We tried something different and we're glad we did. He had a burrito supreme that he liked (not a very wordy guy anyway) and I had a couple of tacos that were delicious. There's not one near us but we went to a football game near there a few weeks later and it and if it hadn't been so late when it was over we would have gone back by there again. I would stop by for the house made salsa and coconut pineapple margaritas and tacos anytime. read more

Awful margaritas...I had the jalapeño cilantro. I had this drink last week in Greenville, it was fabulous and quite the contrary to the one here in Duncan. The server never checked back before the food came out so I was unable to let her know that it was poorly made with too much sour mix. We were not offered a choice in shells for our tacos. When I asked our server, Cameryn, she confirmed and then offered our choices. I will likely drive 35 minutes away to eat at Haywood or any other location rather than my own neighborhood here in Duncan. Do better TipsyTaco. They do not know how to make simple drinks and if you try to return them they still want you to pay for it?? Their food is....at most edible" not much else! The mild salsa is just watery, diced tomatoes, maybe with some salt. and not even fresh tomatoes. Tomatoes just about to turn. Often run out of items. No grouper, no flank steak. It's always something. Maybe they shine at the dinner hour, but lunch is weak. There are better taco places out there.
