    Salad (Mango Vinaigrette)
    Luca D.

Service and ambiance was successful due to not being a long wait. After my salad with mango vinaigrette, I got the Jamaican Me Thirsty (consisting of fire roasted tomatoes, zucchini and squash in a jerk tomato sauce) with grilled jerk chicken and GF pasta, at medium spice level. The vinaigrette gave the salad a nice sweetness to it. The main course had well-cooked chicken and provided a great kick, enough that I could understand where the dish got its name, because I frequently needed water in between bites (which does not usually happen). Overall, this was a meal that tasted as well as it read.

Excellent food, interesting and different. The service is attentive and easy, perfect really. The vibe fits the food.

Make a reservation. It's a Saturday evening and I got the last seat at the bar. I went for the most popular dish cool runnings. It comes with a salad, I picked the mango dressing yum! The chicken was flavorful with a little spice. Recommend. I did not get the chocolate? Cake but the person next to me inhaled it. So it must be good. :)

My husband and I have been patronizing this location for years. It's our favorite restaurant in Asheville. This dish was delicious per usual. Medium heat. Pasta dishes come with a side salad and Natty Bread. There was a slight wait, but it was well worth it. Our waitress, Leah, was just perfect. She Che is on us often, and made some great recommendations to my teens to try. Looking forward to my annual trip in 2026.

Review from our first visit last year! Ordered the exact same dish!!

Wow! The food and service here are always on point!! Staff is friendly and welcoming! Craft beers are excellent and the food..... 5++++++! I ordered the Kingston 12 , hot with extra sauce and over linguini. Every bite was Heaven!!!!! Their homemade salad dressings are delicious and the portions generous! We went on a Saturday night around 6:30 and were told about a 30 minute wait. We were called for our table when promised and thoroughly enjoyed every moment!

    All done!!!

Ambience: Vibrant and energetic Service: 45 minute wait, very very busy but still very responsive staff. Food: Very versatile menu with vegan/vegetarian/non-vegetarian options. Salad and bread that comes before the entree was tasty, fresh with the choice of salad dressings that were unique, house crafted and flavorful. For dinner, we ordered backyard bowl with jerk tofu and jerk trout with linguini. Both the dishes did more than justice to the taste buds and left us entirely satisfied. Granted it was a long wait but food came piping hot and was well worth the wait. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area! 10/10 in all regards!!!

Absolutely amazing wonderful incredible spot. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The flavors of the food are unique and so well done. Every sauce is incredible. The protein options are vast and all pair well with each dish. Service is always good -- they're friendly, knowledgable, and fun. I always leave with leftovers that are just as great the next day. Highly recommend the Mount Zion entree and the garlic tahini dressing for the salad.

Kingston 12 had shrimp, cauliflower, asparagus, and onion in a delight red curry sauce over basmati rice.

I asked an Asheville local where I should have dinner and without skipping a beat she said "Nine Mile." She said there may be a wait but it would be worth it. She was right. Thankfully as a single diner and with some divine timing I was sat at the open kitchen bar seating as I finished getting a drink from the "get a bevy" bat. Excellent customer service, chill vibe, welcoming staff, and Amazon flavors. My only wish is that I had a someone to dine with so I could have shared an app before my meal. The Kingston 12 was delicious; just enough space for me, and I had to convince myself to take some to go so that o wouldn't be stuffed. If you aren't into shrimp you can sub the protein with chicken or tofu. Bonus, they have Ginger's Revenge Line & Agave on tap and pairs with the food in the best way possible.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Caribbean Italian fused restaurant. When I heard about it I thought that was preposterous, until I tried it. The flavors were great and it just worked. You'll love their jerk chicken and their fried plantains. They perfectly cook their rice and their menu is just so fun. The food here is not boring at all. It will be a regular place for us.

Omgoodness. This place is awesome!! Met a fella in Boone, NC. When he heard that we were heading to Asheville, he said we had to come here. The best food!!! And a very cool atmosphere.

Every dish was a masterpiece, bold and elegant, comforting and exciting all at once. This is vegan food that doesn't whisper or apologize--it commands the room. The flavors were layered, intentional, and downright magical. Each plate arrived like a work of art, and somehow tasted even better than it looked. I kept thinking, there is no way the next dish can top this--and yet, it always did. Plant proves, without question, that vegan cuisine can be indulgent, luxurious, and unforgettable. And then... the dessert. I am not exaggerating when I say it deserves its own standing ovation. Rich, decadent, perfectly balanced--one bite and time stopped. If happiness had a flavor, this would be it. I would return to Plant for dessert alone, without a second thought. Plant is hands-down the best vegan restaurant in Asheville. It's passion, creativity, and excellence on a plate. If you haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out on something truly special. This is the kind of place that ruins other restaurants for you--in the best possible way.

Each bite has a unique depth of flavor. Some vegan foods that I've tried has a tendency to be over salted or seasoned or just hides behind some type of soy-based protein for texture and to try to be something it's not. I can happily say plant has dodged this with ease We got the Cauliflower, Roasted Beets, Broccolini (seasonal, not pictured sorry), Cheese Board (not pictured ... sorry again), and The Curry.Honestly have fun with the menu, there was nothing that missed. I would say most definitely get the Cheese Board. It came with a unique set of cheeses with different flavors and textures. How do you age a cashew cheese?!?! It came with a nice assortment of pickled veggies, fruits, gluten free bed, and olives. Nice and big too If you couldn't already, I loved my experience here. Perfect ambiance for a date night too! (Shahi Daawat means Royal Feast or Royal Banquet historically signifying grand meals from princely kitchens with rich dishes, luxurious presentation and cultural elements and often themed around specific Indian states of festivals and tracing back to royal recipes. Kerala is a coastal state on the south of India having a coastline of about 400 miles along the Arabian Sea. The food there being popular for their fresh ingredients, rich spices, coconut and seafood.) First of all we were both greeted with a beautiful and fragrant Jasmine garland by the owner and staff outfitted in typical dress and we were seated on a table with banana leaves as our plates for the first portion of the feast (yes; it was a feast!!!). The appetizers started arriving promptly with a variety of proteins starting with chicken deliciously seasoned and delightfully crunchy. The chicken was followed by Medu Vada with Coconut Chutney and Pan Roasted Prawns, Vada with Chutney and a delicious Mushroom Pepper Fry. Then the entrees began: Idli and Sambhar, Lamb Chettinad, Kadala (chickpea) Curry, Egg Roast, Pepper Chicken, Cabagge Thoran and Kerala Fish Curry. This was accompanied by Malabar Paratha and Lemon Rice. Although the portions of the individual items seemed small, cumulatively became overwhelming, but I would not change it at all. It seemed as if we were welcomed into someone's home and they were gladly sharing all of the dishes of their region. It was a magnificent and comprehensive compilation of dishes from Kerala and I am glad it was so!!! The desserts were three; Kozhikode Halwa (different than Halwa from Northern India; Kozhidode Halwa this delicacy melts in your mouth and it is popular not only in Kerala but in Arabia, Persia, and London. Food historian have traced its origins back to centuries ago), Coconut Burfi (a traditional treat made with coconuts milk and cardamom) and Coconut Kulfi (a delicious frozen coconut milk delight).
