We went here on a Saturday around noon with a party of 10. Everyone was ordering cocktails and eating brunch. Our waitress was absolutely flawless and we were a needy crew. The drinks were lovely. The bartender even came up when my sister ordered his drink with fernette in it to ensure she like it because "it's a polarizing flavor" my daiquiri was so delicious and the beet martini was an unexpected delight... it is exactly what it claimed to be, a martini with an undertone of earthy beet. The food was top notch. 10 people ordered about 8 different dishes and there wasn't a single complaint among the crowd. My eggs Benedict was spectacular and the bite I had of the shakshuka was spicy and flavorful. Definitely order the mild if you don't want some heat. My sister's salad looked incredible and if I return I want to try it. Don't miss this gem if you find yourself in Brevard. We had ten satisfied customers and we had to wait no time at all for our table! Yummy spot in brevard!! I started with their Brazilian Christmas drink and it was so good I had to get two! All the appetizer were delicious it's hard to even rank them. The arancini was beyond tasty and the balsamic vinegar mixed so well with the other flavors. The fried green tomatoes, my cousins favorite, also did not disappoint. Lastly we had the smoked salmon which I also wanted seconds off! For my main I had the steak frites and it was okay. I have had other dishes in the past and don't know if I would get the steak again knowing how much I enjoy everything else. The service was great!! We were visiting Brevard for the weekend after Thanksgiving. It was our anniversary so we were looking for a place to celebrate. While walking around the charming town and visiting some shops we discussed various restaurant options with the staff. There were a number of positive referrals for the Bohemian Restaurant so my husband made a reservation. I'm sure had it been a Saturday afternoon in the Summer or Fall we would not have had as easy a time securing a table for the same evening. We loved the look of the place. A sweet old house with a cozy dining room and bar on the first floor. We did not investigate the upper floor as we had been advised that the lower floor is the best place to dine. Our server Jennifer was wonderful! She was so attentive and fun. I had the Greek meal with salad and lamb chops - they were delicious but not hot enough which is why I left off a star. I asked that they heat them a bit but even the returned lamb was lukewarm. My husband had the lasagna which looked wonderful and he ate every bit. We will for sure be back to Bohemian and I would like to try more from the menu. read more

While visiting North Carolina, we drove to the naturally, lovely town of Brevard. In Brevard, a local shop employee recommended The Bohemian Restaurant. We were so glad we went there for lunch. The Bohemian is in a charming historical house on Main Street. It was a perfect day so we enjoyed our lunch on their lovely front patio. I ordered the Olumpus (a Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Sandwich). It was SO good! It was made with tzatziki sauce, cucumber, arugula, tomato, kalamata olives, and red onion. It was served on a brioche bun. The sandwich came with a nice side salad and great seasoned french fries. It was a delicious lunch! loved the way it was prepared, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! My husband enjoyed a lovely House Salad, made with mixed greens, red onions, tomato, corn, and fresh parmesan drizzled with a homemade dressing. It was topped with a very tasty Mediterranean chicken breast. We loved the excellent food and the natural ambience of this restaurant's patio. We're sorry it's hundreds of miles from our home. We were pretty disappointed with The Bohemian. We went for lunch and was seated in a nice table on the patio. But then nobody waited on us. I had to go inside and ask for a server. It took 50 minutes to get our food. My husband's burger was totally overcooked and almost inedible. My grilled cheese was tasty. Where to begin? We were so disappointed. Our cocktails were below par. One of them had toasted marshmallows that looked nice but they were obviously toasted previously as they were hard and cold in the middle. Had to spit it out. Ordered the Cordon Blue chicken and when it came out, the sauce was gelatinous, cold, giggly and unpleasant. The mashed potatoes were not even close to being warm. Two of us ordered this and agreed we could not eat it. We sent it back and the waitress asked if we wanted it reheated or remade. Considering the cost and how bad it was, we requested remade. I'm sorry, I don't want to pay that much for a microwave reheat. She agreed and said they would remake it. 15 minutes later the waitress came back with the same plates and told us they reheated it and asked if we would instead want it remade which would take another 35 minutes. This didn't make sense because we had already asked them to remake it. By now it was past closing time so, we said never mind (because we didn't want to keep the kitchen staff). Next, the waitress came with the bill and said they went ahead and took off the chicken dishes. Like it was a favor. No way were we paying for them. At no point did a manager come over. The waitress rolled her eyes and made annoyed sounds when she walked away from our table. It was a bad experience all around. Two of the three of us went home hungry. I would never go there again. Side note, if they are trying to be an upscale restaurant, bathroom also needs work (I'll spare the details). read more

The drinks are well balanced, unique, and delicious. All of the food was completely outstanding. We had the Reuben and the tomato bisque soup which were specials of the day. From the sides to the olive in my beat martini, I really have no criticism to give. Whatever the chef is doing in this kitchen is what you want to experience! But the service itself was not so great. We were seated before the table was set so we sat for a bit with no water. But we had knives. No forks though. When our appetizer was served our server said, "Oh you need small plates" but then he took another table's order before bring the small plates. The entrees were enormous portions and -again- were delicious. But I was served mine first and while I waited for my husband's order, our server again took another table's order. By the time my husband's order got to the table, mine was no longer hot. The ambiance is better outside than inside. I missed real candles on the table. I missed cloth napkins. Mixed feelings on this one... We made a reservation via OpenTable several weeks in advance. I indicated in the "notes" that it was our Anniversary (we actually had our first anniversary in this exact location over 20 years ago when it was HobNob-so our expectations were a bit high) and I noted that we were hoping for a somewhat quiet/secluded table. We showed up and the table they had reserved for us was just a couple of yards from the hostess stand/front door, literally 12 inches from another table and pressed directly up against the exterior door frame... so close if whoever sat in the chair next to the door would not have been able to easily exit their chair without slamming into the door frame. Luckily, we were given the option of sitting upstairs, which gave us more room. Overall, the ambience was very basic. We both ordered some of the Indian inspired dishes and there was zero spice and minimal flavor... we eat quite a bit of Indian food and are used to at least a minimal kick in the flavor and spice. We felt like all the food had been pared down to be as simple as possible even though the restaurant seems to bill itself as offering international dishes. The positive was that our waiter was fantastic, very attentive and did not waste any time. Not a terrible experience, but no draw to go back again. **Side note-for restaurants that use online reservation systems and offer a "notes" section...Take a moment to read the notes. Making a little effort to recognize those notes can go a really, really long way. Had our anniversary been noted and our choice of seating been noted, it would've made a huge difference in our overall impression. What is the point of giving your customers an option to indicate special requests or notes if they are going to be completely ignored? read more

I am always excited to see oatmeal (bar tender) at a restaurant. He comes up with some really unique tasty cocktails. He suggested the sweet potato daiquiri and it was fabulous! We had a reservation for 5 and were seated on time however the service was really slow. There were a few larger parties but in a place this small, that just means less small tables to tend to. The food was good but not great. The beet and salmon salad had very little "salad" to it and the fish was not salmon.. we love a beet salad but this just wasn't hitting. The Marseille was pretty good and the grilled chicken salad looked pretty good, I didn't taste it. I was really hoping the food would be something to dream about, like Marcos was (RIP my favorite place). We will be back but will probably sit at the bar and order small plates and cocktails. Not bad, a work in progress..... We welcome new, local, delicious food in Brevard, so we were excited to try the Bohemian. We called to make a reservation, as it was a weekend and it's a new place. We sat outside on the covered front porch. My first impression is that staffing is a problem. We all know what that means in restaurants at this point, absent waiter, no drink refills, etc... and they were obviously working hard so I hate to bust their chops on that point. Food: For the appetizer we had the Tour of the Mediterranean which includes hummus, baba ghanoush and muhammara. Served with pita bread and cucumber. They were decent, my husband thought they all needed salt. We split a salad, which I thought was well done with local lettuce. I had the Marseille (cordon bleu) as my main, and it was uniquely done and very good. My husband had the Mumbai (chicken tikka masala) and it was fine. Not bad, not great. They supposedly have a great cocktail menu, but we didn't get one when we were seated and then with absentee staff it wasn't something I wanted to wait for, so I had a glass of wine. We had brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I chose the hamburger, foregoing it being on a waffle for a regular bun. It was fair. The fries were fair Salad dressing was very good. Biggest problem was the service. We were seated outside along with many others and while I saw many servers coming in going throughout our lunch, our server did not check in on us once. When she finally came and asked if we needed anything, about a half hour later, I told her I had needed new napkins 20 minutes ago. She said she was sorry and still didn't bring any napkins. Really poor experience on an otherwise lovely afternoon. My wife's Korean fried chicken sandwich was seriously overcooked and her fries were oddly stale tasting. My own Greek style open chicken pita had some of the most seriously burnt kabobs I've ever had. The chef who let these orders out of the kitchen really doesn't care about what is served. We met friends who came into town. I'd never been to this restaurant before. Our waitress was fantastic! The food was so delicious! My husband had the lasagna. Our friends had the trout and a burger. I had the pork chop with the most delicious sauce. It was topped with a gorgeous flower that matched the color of the beet infused mashed potatoes. It was amazing! We'll definitely be back! We sat at the Bar - consider making reservations - but the service regardless has been top notch! We had the Arrincini small plate, the Carolina & the Mumbai. The Arrincini risotto balls were AMAZING - stuffed with smoked Gouda. The trout was done to perfection (I don't even like fish) and the chicken tikki masala was delish. For dessert we shared some tiramisu and crème brûlée. Both very very tasty. Our drinks came fast even though the bartender was busy serving the entire restaurant. This was our first visit to this restaurant. Overall, it was a nice experience. The staff was pleasant and fairly professional. Unfortunately, it took quite some time for our entrees to arrive. Two groups of four who arrived afterward received their dinners before us...not earth-shattering. Each of the dishes had wonderful flavor, but the Red Snapper, Pork Chop, and Chicken breast were all overcooked...disappointing. We decided to try the Bohemian Restaurant on a Tuesday night when many downtown restaurants are closed and it was DELICIOUS‼ From the homemade Mushroom soup and the spicy 7 shrimp appetizer, to the succulent lamb chops and mashed potatoes, grilled wedge lettuce with chicken and flavorful trout over rice with fresh vegetables, finishing with homemade crème brûlée and chocolate mousse dessert, we can't wait to go back to sample more of their enticing new menu! We also noted the good portions at a fair price. And the service, from Oatmeal the bartender to McKenzie the hostess to our delightful server Sara, we had the best evening with friends in an ambience that was festive and warm. I would have given them a 5-star rating if not for their server/host MacKenzie. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and one of our guests glanced at the reservation book to get an idea of where we we're in line. That pissed MacKenzie off and it just got worse from there. Yikes! There was another party waiting but their reservation was for 15 minutes after ours. MacKenzie went upstairs to check on seating, came back down and asked for a party of three and was going to take the other party waiting there also, but they were nice enough to decline stating their reservation time was after ours. She didn't even come down to check the reservation book to see. We proceeded upstairs (I was right behind her) and she walked over to one table, and I asked if it was ours and she barked at me saying a nearby table was ours. Luckily our server, Igor, was someone we knew from another restaurant and he is INCREDIBLE!!! Unfortunately, we had to experience two more times as she brought us a carafe of water and then our drinks. Never once smiling or even looking us in the eye. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! I ordered the Santorini which is a Greek dish with both lamb and chicken which were cooked and seasoned to PERFECTION!!! They also have the best bartender in Brevard, Oatmeal, who makes incredible drinks. I would absolutely recommend dining here but simply beware if MacKenzie is your server and you piss her off!!! I will add that we were there on the Saturday before Christmas and it was packed, but every other employee we came into contact with were a lot of fun! MacKenzie gets an F for that day! read more
