Please fix the food situation here. Such a great concept. Indoor and outdoor seating are both fantastic. Great place to see live music. Everything about the location itself is awesome. It's just unfortunate the food is absolutely horrible. Each restaurant is bad in its own way. This place could really be great if they would just overhaul the food. Ingredients seem to be low quality, and most things come out either significantly burnt, significantly undercooked, and always extremely greasy. This place has so much potential. Great outdoor sitting area. Nice bar, nice facility overall . However they are absolutely ruining the potential by serving the cheapest food that their suppliers (Sysco or US Foods, I suppose) will deliver. It's comically bad! Who puts Swai fish on a menu other than people concerned about the bottom line and nothing else. The Mexican restaurant upstairs is at least decent but the burger and fish place downstairs are pretty bad. read more

Just don't. Stay away. Terrible food. Burger missing onions & fries. Bang bang shrimp was definitely shot. Overcooked. Girl behind the counter had no clue when we mentioned the missing onions and fries. And to top it off...flies everywhere!!! Spent our lunch swatting the flies away from our food. Ambiance is great. Bartender is great! Food is not! Ordered the wings ( I love wings) and it amazes me how you can screw wings up but it's possible. They were dry, no flavor, barely any sauce, and meat tasted freezer burnt or something; couldn't put my finger on it. Tried 2 wings, hoping a one off but nope. Good food, awesome space. We came for lunch in June so the outside was blazing thus we moved inside. I bet it's really great when the sun goes down. OMG this place was good! Hot and fresh food! I had seen the ad on TV and I was taking some friends to the airport so this was a perfect stop. Service was quick. Outside seating was great. The only thing I didn't see at first was how to get from the first to second floor. Drinks were good too! Definitely going back and highly recommend. read more

Enjoyed a delicious double patty burger on marbled rye bread with crispy, seasoned fries that were too salty. Also got a flounder sandwich with fries. Portion size was decent; one order could be shared especially if one gets a side. It was quiet and the only background music seeped out of kitchen pickup window. The lower level dining area was clear, large industrial style space with plenty of seating. Upstairs has a warmer design with some attention to interior decorating. A lot of attention has been paid to the outdoors with plenty of seating, kid friendly spaces, a gas fire pit snd and plenty of nearby parking. The ambitious layout of this concept seems to call for multiple employees. Areas specifically allocated to order burgers or seafood were closed. All orders were taken at the bar. read more

We have been here twice before writing this review. It's OK but a little disappointing. The blackened flounder platter is really very good - however, getting semi warm to lukewarm fries was a let down. The fried chicken sandwich was crunchy and juicy - another good product. However, we tried the Lobster Roll and mark my words - DO NOT ORDER THIS - this must have been a frozen product from discarded parts. So much of the rubbery claw tip, little pieces of I don't know what, along with a ton of mayo. It does not take much to make a decent lobster roll and even less or make a crappy one. Along with stale chips, this dish was total loser. We don't think we will be back, they need to work on their Quality Control. Serve the BEST and customers will show up. read more

Not a huge fan. My burger legit reminded me of what I'd get back in my high school cafeteria (way back when). It was technically edible, but very basic. The burger sauce had zero flavor. The fries could have used some seasoning. And another annoyance: the only way to access the upstairs is via an outdoor (partially uncovered) staircase. It was pouring rain. While visiting family outside of Asheville, my parents took me to Auction House for dinner one night. Apparently, it's a new-ish food hall in town, and they were excited to try it out. There are 2 stories to the building: downstairs has a bourbon bar, burgers, fried fish, and some shareable snacky foods. Upstairs has a wine bar and Mexican food. We didn't go upstairs, instead opting to just try foods from downstairs. One of the things I liked a lot about Auction House was that rather than ordering food at each, individual vendor, you place your entire order at the bourbon bar. I think this is super clever, and honestly made ordering different things a lot easier and less time consuming!! I opted to get a fried chicken sandwich and fried brussels sprouts. Both were pretty good, though the brussels sprouts were honestly the shining star of the meal. They were so flavorful and crispy!! The chicken sandwich felt a bit dry and the fries were way too salty IMO. My mom got a fish plate, and my dad got a burger. My mom said all of her fried fish plate foods were way too salty as well, though my dad had no complaints about his burger & fries. After we placed our food order, we grabbed waters and plastic utensils and sat down while we waited for our food to be ready. Once our buzzer went off, we grabbed our food and sat back down. There wasn't any table service or anything like that - everything you'd need was self serve or order at the bar. I like the concept, and I think the menus are all really delicious looking. The prices were pretty good. I will say that the place was on the noisy side, even though it wasn't particularly busy. They do have outdoor seating as well, though when we went, it was cold & rainy, so we opted to stay inside. The bourbon bar does have a counter where you can order food without going inside, which is also nice! I'm not sure about if you can grab your food from the counter without going inside, though. Definitely a cute place. I wish the food wasn't so salty, but that is also a personal preference, so I'm sure others will enjoy it! We had a decent meal at Auction House after a day out on the river. We did not go upstairs so I can only speak for the 3 restaurants downstairs. We both got a drink at the bar, cocktail was well mixed. We got the crab hush puppies from Fish Camp (pictured) that were fried very nicely. The burgers from KO burger were pretty good but the fries were awesome. It rained while we visited but the umbrellas on the outside seating were large enough that we could enjoy the cooler temps that came with the rain. We are excited to visit again. read more

This establishment is an absolute wonderful addition to the Fletcher/S. Avl area. I love how it is set-up with different menus from which to order. I guess I'm mad at myself. I came into town to to visit my son. I had 6 people in our group. Not being here before I didn't know what to expect. We ordered and paid. then comes the tip??? Let's see how this new restaurant goes. I'd like to address the layout first. It's bad. So, if you want to order from the Mexican restaurant and one of the bars you sit upstairs. If you want a burger or seafood and a different bar you sit downstairs. Their website makes you download a different menu for each place. It would have a better flow if you could just click a menu button and see all options at once. There don't appear to be any servers. There are windows to order for each place but no one standing at them. You have to order at the bar. Also, there are 3 tables eating here and the tables are dirty. The food...so hear me out. Half the amount of fries and you charge me $3 less. The blackened catfish platter was good. It wasn't spicy like blackened should be. It wasn't overcooked and that made me happy. The crab filled hushpuppies were...different. I'd rather have regular hushpuppies. I understand they're trying to go outside the box but it's unnecessary. The tartar sauce they give was probably the best part of the meal. It helped a lot. The shrimp were fried well but bland. I can see why this new restaurant isn't slammed on a holiday afternoon. Had a froze' which was great and then ordered a blackened flounder plate from Fish Camp which was overcooked and tasted fishy, hubby had some onion rings which were good but nothing special. I love the location and use of an old building. Outside and inside look great. The turn off for me is the fact that they do not have an elevator and if you want to eat upstairs at the Mexican place and want a soda or tea (or refill) you have to walk down the stairs to the lower level. Not an issue for me but it is for my older mother with joint issues. Food is good. I don't like that I feel obligated to leave a tip at the cash register when paying by card when the feel is like a fast food place where someone takes your order but you get your own food and drinks and you clean your own table off. The music is so loud as well that you cannot have a conversation with anyone. The guy at the register told us "the manager" liked the music that loud. It was a great lineup but did not make for a great social experience trying to talk with the person you are dinning with. read more

First time visit on May 1st. Not going back. The fish was dry and the hush puppies were burned and small. Ordering was at the bar with only one bartender taking the order and than leaving to get your beverage making it slow. There were four adults and two children in our party from out of town. The auction house is great place for all ages. The bartender Elisha is always so nice and goes above and beyond. She even brought another round of drinks and food out after checking on us on the patio. It's a beautiful place on the upper level cantina and wine bar. read more
