A short distance from Tunnel Rd is this multifaceted neighborhood restaurant and bar. We stopped in after a nice walk at the nearby Folk Art Center. Greeted by the hostess and Mike was our server. The front has regular seating, the middle has high tops and an adjacent bar. Then there is a small area with electronic games and finally a large outdoor seating area with play area and performance stage. The indoors was about 40% occupied for lunch. We shared a large house salad with blue cheese dressing and the house cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and had that outdoor grilled taste which we love. Came here from nj and out of all the resturaunts in asheville I chose this one with my family and let me tell you I could not have been more glad with my choice. The food was so good I ate it so quick lol and forgot to take a pic but it was so amazing and cooked to perfection. The service is incredible as they are all so friendly and talkative and make the experience a lot more enjoyable. Cheerwine Habanero wings I could probably just leave those three words there and be just as satisfied with the shortest review ever as I was with those wings. Generally I don't order chicken wings and typically when a restaurant touts their 'hot wings' I either find them not hot at all or at the other end of the spectrum where any concept of flavor has been completely annihilated by capsaicin extract. Also I don't think I've purchased a bottle of Cherrywine the entire time I've lived in North Carolina. Yet, for some reason I randomly think about these wings at least once a month or so. Perfectly smoked and the sauce compliments with the right amount of heat to still retain much of that mango-tanginess found in a ripe habanero. And the Cherrywine flavor comes through on top of all that. Wife ordered the smoked turkey sandwich which definitely tasted like they were house-smoked and we shared both meals on their back patio on a cool fall afternoon. Nice neighborhood place just outside of town that is worth a visit when you went some good bar food with easy parking and away from the mania of downtown. read more

This used to be one of our favorite places. It is near our home and we enjoyed the menu. During the pandemic they minimized their offerings, but we continued to support them and enjoyed our visits. They unexpectedly closed for remodeling after the '22 holidays and recently reopened. The good news is the menu again expanded. The bad news, some favorites have been dropped. Creekside had the best tots in town, but they dropped them. They added pizza, but it is the worst pizza outside of Dominos. It is so greasy as to be inedible. While they were "remodeling" the great personable staff found employment elsewhere. The new staff has no sense of service or what should be done to work at a restaurant. The kid who brings the pizza we waited an hour for we asked if he could bring us water. Nope. We would gave to ask a server!? Get out of you silo, Einstein. We are visiting from out of town and looking for a place to get some dinner on a Sunday evening and was able to find this local place that was open. We were told to sit anywhere when we sat down. Appears to have more relaxed seating out back and possible live music. The waitress seemed pulled between the two locations but did stay on top of our needs. The food arrived quickly but unfortunately the boy who brought our food wasn't aware of what meal was which and we had to look through each to find out whose was whose. The fries were great and cooked just as request, nice and crispy. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich that had a side of chips. The chicken honestly didn't have much of a taste and the batter kind of got soggy and fell off the chicken. I would not order this again. My family ordered the burgers and seemed happy with them. We were glad to find a place open and did get friendly service but not sure this would be my pick again. read more

We came to just get a burger and fries, but everything is honestly WAY overpriced for what you get. I was surprised by the bill. $17 for my burger and $19 for a burger with a gluten free bun resembling a hockey puck and NO sides included. Potato chips do not count. A side of crinkle fries was $7... In all, two burgers, an order of fries, and a single $4 beer ON special was $50 without tip. The food wasn't bad, the burgers could've come with a sauce... It just wasn't worth what they are charging. The experience would be better if they were asking a fair price for what you get. Happy to come back and enjoy the food and outdoor area when the prices come down, until then you can't say it's a go-to neighborhood joint, it was disappointing. read more

The hostess was honest about the wait (which we knew with our size and timing would be long) and the bartender took great care of us. The atmosphere was really great. Plenty of room inside and out for us and our kids to hang out. I read earlier reviews on their smoked turkey sandwich and they are totally right. That sandwich is awesome. The flavor is amazing. Everyone liked their food from salads to burgers so it was a big hit for our large group. Visiting from out of town, tried this restaurant after working during the day, looking forward to a couple of beers and a good burger. Upon entering, I was told by the hostess that there was an approximate 10 minute wait and she asked if I would want to sit inside or outside. I said it didn't matter, but the inside was completely empty, no one at any table. I went to the bar and had a beer and then was told my table was ready. The hostess sent me in the empty section, and I sat there ignored for approximately 30 minutes. I had another beer which I had brought from the bar and had a book and didn't notice at first said I was being ignored. Left and went to Chick-Fil-A, whereare at least I was served. I would rate this a one if I were being generous but it deserves a zero since I got zero service. Would not go back to this restaurant again. Perhaps they have a staff problem, but it must be only waitresses, because there were at least three hostesses at the front reception desk, doing very little. read more

Creekside Taphouse is definitely more of a warm weather spot because of their awesome outdoor area with cornhole, volleyball, and patio seating. But I'm still have to go there all seasons to enjoy a drink and an appetizer. Creekside Taphouse is located in Haw Creek, right next to my favorite coffee shop Penny Cup Haw Creek. It is easy to get to and really close to Tunnel Road but it feels like it's off the beaten path which is nice. I've never been blown away by Creekside's entrees, but I am a big fan of their appetizers and they have good drink specials. On Sundays they have great mimosa and bloody mary specials and may people go here to watch the games on the TVs. As for food, I recommend their sweet potato fries, chicken fingers, and my favorite, the totchos! The totchos are a big ol' plate of tater tots topped with black beans, corn salsa, jalapeños, tomato, onion and queso. You have the option of having chicken of portobello mushrooms on it as well. This is a giant plate of naughty goodness. Yummm! The ambiance inside is casual, chill, country taphouse and the outdoor area feels like a fun college town bar. The service has always been fine here but nothing to write home about. Although this is definitely not one of my go-to bars, I'm always happy to go whenever anyone suggests going here. read more

Try it if you find something else that entices you...but grab a bite. We ordered a burger, cheddar, bacon and the usual garnish. The meat is high quality meat, you can tell by the flavor, consistency, juiciness. The seasoning added really added a wonderful savory, smooth finish. I've had many burgers and can honestly say it was probably one of the best, a must have. Dog friendly. Wonderful service from Luke, a 7+ year employee, the perfect service, very laid back, informative, and was always there when you needed something. Environment: We sat outside, but my wife said there is an epic arcade for the family inside. Playground was great. It sits next to a rambling creek. If your into what's on the game there are tv's inside and out. Family friendly, pet friendly! Overall, a must go. I've been to Creekside Taphouse several times and have really enjoyed it. One of my favorite aspects about the establishment is that there is plenty of room and a wide variety of seating. You have a front porch, a typical dining area, a bar, hightops in the bar area, a cover back patio and picnic tables down by the creek. Seating for pretty much any occasion. They also have plenty of TVs inside for watching whatever the sport of the season is. I stopped in and watched a Braves game. Getting the game on a TV wasn't an issue and that is greatly appreciated. As per pretty much every Asheville establishment they have a great selection of beers. And to top that off they have drink specials of the day. When I was there last I had a combination BBQ plate to munch on. It was good but not amazing. What really made it for me were the sauces and they were great. They have about half a dozen or so homemade BBQ sauces that really made the meal for me. The server was also very attentive and I never got stuck waiting for service. My only real gripe is that I wish there were more TVs outside. If I remember correctly there is only one and it would be nice for multiple parties to be to watch their team while sitting outside. But overall it's a great place to hang out and watch a game or just have a beer and relax. I definitely plan to hit it up this college football season. read more

We have been coming to Creekside for the past 15 years, and we used to love the food service and the atmosphere. Unfortunately with the past 3 years the quality of food, service and atmosphere he declined drastically. Each time my son and I decide to give Creekside another chance we walk away very disappointed. The wings in particular are underwhelming in many ways. Other items on the menu have been altered or fluctuate in quality each time we go. First let me say this.. Asheville has some of the best, most diverse food I've ever had. I'm very open minded and always give bad places second chances. Always. Except for here. I went there with my girl and she got the pulled pork and I got the brisket. Brisket is the greatest meat ever. I love brisket more than my goofy girl. The brisket was so dry and embarrassingly bad, I literally got depressed eating the first bite. Nothing was good about it. All the sides were terrible. The cornbread tasted like cardboard. The beans tasted like right out of a can. Mac and cheese was just okay. It was all just basic food. My girls pulled pork was so boring, that she had to add salt to it and douse it in sauce. Who the f*** has ever put salt on pulled pork?! That's like adding sugar to a piece of cake that sucks.That's how bad it was. I told the waitress how bad it was and she got me something else. Which was nice. But she saw the meat when they gave it to us, and if she had any knowledge on meat; she would have never served it to us. I seriously will most likely never come back. Even if I was stoned or drunk, I'd find some road kill and eat that. I usually talk to a manager if there's any issue and everything always gets settled, but not one thing was good and I don't see the quality ever changing. If I go back, it's like going back to an ex who cheated on me and probably has herpes. Won't be fun or good or worth it. Unless I'm totally plastered. 0/5 if I could. Sorry Taphouse. Avid BBQ here, and it was so disappointing. You guys need to seriously change up your food. I love this place! Been coming here for years. They have a great outdoor space with volleyball, cornhole and other fun games.. it runs alongside the creek which leads to a magical dog park and park. I love to come on Wednesday because it's wing day! My favorite flavor is honey soy garlic, to die for. They smoke them first and you can really taste that good smoke flavor.
