Our youngest son was married here 7 years ago. Generally we visit during the summer and we stay outdoors where there are tables, a stage with live music, a bar and various outdoor sports. We enjoy the company of others, along with their dogs and children. Friday it was raining and we were forced indoors. It wasn't a huge letdown. There was a band playing, the beer selection was still solid, we enjoyed the company of others, along with their dogs and children. For the most part, everyone was on their best behavior. There's always a taste of Asheville weirdness, which we appreciate. We left as the facility started to fill up. Always a good choice to visit Highland. We hope to get back for one more visit before we return to Florida, hoping for some sunshine so we can sit outside again.

Overall, it did feel like the temple of Italy.

A FAMILY FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD SPOT! (AND BEST RANCH IN AVL)…read more I love Creekside Taphouse! A majority of the patrons include families and couples that live in the area. You'll see kids playing in the creek next to the restaurant. The current setup since the hurricane is that you order at the bar and receive a number to place on your table. They have ample indoor seating and both covered and uncovered outdoor seating. Check their website for the current menu because they have had some changes. They frequently have specials including ribs and pulled pork, both are delicious. I've had almost everything on their menu and enjoy everything. Some of my favorites are their pizza and Cheerwine habanero wings. You MUST try their ranch dressing!!! It's homemade and full of dill. Staff here is always friendly and I love the bartenders. Come give this place a try!

The locals raved over the nachos and I heard them ask for the recipe. I'm here to rave to you over the side salad. You get a choice of "boring fries" (their name not mine) or a side salad with your sandwich. Holy cow, that's the best side salad I've ever had. No boring iceberg and insipid tomatoes here. Spring greens, sweet onion, shaved fennel, gourmet tomatoes, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), Craisins and lots of fresh herbs with an amazing house-made vinaigrette dressing. Impressive. Absolutely make a stop here and see for yourself.

Walking in felt like stepping into a place that has completely given up on basic standards. The shelves were disorganized, sizes were missing everywhere, and the overall store looked like nobody bothered to maintain it. Trying to get help was just as frustrating. Employees were either nowhere to be found or seemed totally uninterested in doing their job. When you finally get someone's attention, the help you get is minimal at best. It's honestly shocking how little effort seems to go into customer service here. The prices are also way too high for what you get. A lot of the products look average at best, yet they're priced like top-tier gear. For a store that's supposed to specialize in sports equipment, the experience feels lazy and poorly managed. There are far better places to shop where the store is organized, the staff actually help you, and the prices make sense. After this visit, I have zero reason to ever come back.
