Everything went well, we ordered at the counter and had a table near by. Everyone was pleasant and friendly many selections of beer, cider and I assume wine, didn't really notice about the wine. I inquired about the size of the cheesesteak and was told it was quite large so decided to split it with my husband. Ordered fries and coleslaw as well. I have wanted to try the Flying Squirrel since the sign went up! I went this past weekend with my husband and daughter and had a great experience. The staff is so friendly and engaging. They offered suggestions for food and drinks and were just pleasant to chat with! The food was fresh and delicious. The drink menu is great--I especially enjoyed the "taster flight" that allowed my daughter and me to try some of the sweet and sour beverages! The menu has a lot of variety for all kinds of preferences and diets. There are tvs, a juke box, and even games. We will definitely be making a stop to The Flying Squirrel as a regular part of our dining out rotation! read more

Walked in about 11:45 on a Saturday and we were there with 1 other table. Super friendly guy greeting us and took our order. We got beer cheese Philly hubby got fries and I got homemade chips. Everything made fresh and came out piping hot. Very clean place that you can even score some swag. Overall it was a great experience everyone super friendly and nice place. It's rare to find a Po' Boy and a Reuben on the same menu, much less beer cheese too. Being fans of shrimp Po Boys, we ordered one with fries and some sides and discovered they also cut the fries in-house. The Po Boy was great -tasting and served on the perfect bread, so we will go back. read more

Popped in here to check out the new vibe with the new ownership. Off the bat it seems like a great place! We sat down to enjoy a drink and were persuaded by the menu to order some bites. This place is heavy on the cheese! So if you love cheesy bites, this is your place. If you're lactose intolerant, be prepared! The food was very good. I ordered the loaded tots which came with a good kick of flavor and a rich cheese sauce. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and they checked in on us often and would hang out for a chat when things were slow. Overall, we plan on coming back and checking out their weeknight events. read more

The burgers were really, really good, and the wings were excellent. The service was exceptional!! The staff was great. Large brewery space on Sweeten Creek Road. We liked that they have a combination of their own brews and guest taps from NC. You can also snag a PBR if that's your thing. They have food with a large and varied menu. Friendly staff - we'd definitely hit this place more often. read more

The owners of the former Voodoo Brewing closed that place, remodeled it and reopened as The Flying Squirrel Pub. They did a really good job. It looks almost brand new. The menu is similar but the beer list has expanded in a big way, as they are no longer limited to serving draft beers from just Voodoo Brewing. You order via an app/QR code or at the counter; they bring the food out and bus the tables. There are actually food menus at the tables, too, but the beer menu is so extensive now and changes frequently that you need to either use the QR code or look at what's written on the wall behind the bar. The staff are super friendly. The food is very good for pub food. We had one of their "craft macs" -- a play on craft beer I think, as there is no confusing this with Kraft mac-n-cheese. It was the buffalo chicken mac. Sometimes buffalo sauce overwhelms whatever it is put on top of, but not here. It's more subtle. It has good taste and nice heat. The heat builds, so I think this dish gets better as you eat it. It was dark meat chicken (no breading) and it was cooked to where it was a little crunchy. It reminded me of duck actually. Really good. The mac and cheese was excellent, too. It's made with chicken beer cheese (chicken broth and beer cheese I'm guessing). It was just the right serving size for lunch or as bar food. I paired it with the Guidon Brewing (Hendersonville) Hefeweizen, which was a great choice to balance with the buffalo sauce. We also had Max's Buffalo Blue pizza. The roasted garlic pesto sauce was fantastic, as was the smoked chicken topping with crumbled blue cheese and drizzled with a combination of buffalo and ranch sauce. Good sized pizza, hearty crust and great overall taste. This was paired with a Pluff Mud Porter from Holy City Brewing (Charleston, SC) and again was a great pairing. We'll definitely stop in again when we're down in the South Asheville/Arden area to try some other items on their menu and some other beers. Good amount of indoor seating and some outside as well (picnic table style, no shade though). read more

Food was amazing. I ordered the pastrami Rueben. Meat was tender bread was buttery and crispy! I love that I can order sample drinks. The peach drink strawberry mojito were so good. What a fun night of playing music bingo at this location! The crowd was fun, the music bingo host was fun! My husband and I had the pepperoni pizza and I would recommend it! We didn't get beer because we had beer at the breweries we visited the night before! The only thing disappointing was my husband's prize for winning bingo was a 10% off food discount! After a long day of random vacation mishaps, we stopped in with a fairly large party including an infant and two toddlers. The food was AMAZING. Service was awesome. Beers are great. We love going here because it's close to our house. We love having a place to grab some local brews without driving into Asheville or mills River. The atmosphere is nice but nothing unique. The food is good and service is great. The only thing we hate is that we go here on Thursdays for Music Bingo all the time and the prizes are downright offensive. Like... 10% off your bill or 1/2 off of Mac and cheese. Most places give 15-25$ gift cards and beer tokens. We are kind of burnt from that and will probably not go for that anymore. read more

Was not expecting such a personality gem in this brewery! Was invited by my bestie and her boo, and met my boo up there for a quick drink and snack. Looks very family oriented too before dark, and dogs are welcomed! Meaning a lot of games for indoor and outdoor play. We had an appetizer that was freaking simple yet delicious loaded fry with Shredded beef, called "beer cheese fries," very filling. Stopped at this place today and let me say. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and the flavor was intensely perfect. The heat from the buffalo sauce was spot on. We were drawn in by the name of this establishment and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food! The interior was clean and polished and we got a real kick out of all the squirrel posters and decor. The atmosphere is laidback - you place your order at the counter or by QR code and the waitstaff bring the food to your table. Even though all the tables were filled up, we never felt cramped for space. We ordered the giant pretzel app, chicken salad sandwich, pulled pork sliders, sliding rock sliders, loaded baked potato soup (the soup of the day), and the fresh cut French fries.
