Had a great time as Cazbar last night! The Maître D' seemed really overwhelmed by the amount of people that arrived but handle the rush in a very professional manner and was able to get everyone seated in a timely manner. She did an awesome job. Our waiter was great. The food was awesome and despite how crowded it was, we didn't wait long after ordering. read more

We arrived around 11:15 am. We were the only customers until noon. Our food took 30 mins. My guest loved the lunch special (chicken, pumpkin soup, hummus and Turkish tea with a tiny pastry). I ordered panko crusted shrimp and veggie dumplings totaling $29. I enjoyed the meal. A little expensive but it's downtown. The rice was amazing enough to come back for alone. Street parking is a hassle so prepare to pay if you're not in the area for work or school. I will return! read more

I love this place!! The vibe is great, service is fantastic, belly dancing in the evening is a perfect night cap. It is of course the Turkish food that warms my belly!! I just had my birthday here and it was the least bit of empty. Great food and ambiance! Only downside is that I had a huge party (25 guests) and they had 1 server when the manager told me it would be 3 servers for my dinner party. I felt bad for her, service was slow to get drinks, most of my guests had to get up and go to the bar to get their own drinks. I will definitely come back with a lesser amount of people of course, and get the dip appetizers with bread, salmon, and shrimp were all amazing! read more

Cazbar - Pre-fixed platter of meats/seafood and salad - Turkish Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Cazbar is a great option for Turkish cuisine in Mount Vernon. Decided to try a few personal favorites on my first visit to see how they compared with what I've had in the past. Their baba ganoush is excellent--well spiced, rich, with big chunks of eggplant. (Some people prefer it completely smooth. I am not one of them.) The imam bayildi was fall-apart tender, which I appreciated, but could have used quite a bit more salt and olive oil to really bring out the flavors. Not the best I've ever had. Fortunately, the adana iskender kebab easily met my high expectations. The lamb was flavorful, juicy, and balanced perfectly with the tomato and yogurt sauce. The rice and bread chunks definitely help to soak up every last bit of meaty, saucy goodness. In truth, I felt like much of the menu was overpriced, but for the quality of the food I suppose that's somewhat forgivable. They do Groupons occasionally as well, which makes it more reasonable. I'd certainly be happy to go back and try out more of their menu options. Especially since we were apparently an hour too early for the belly dancer this time! read more

This place is awesome. Went there on a Saturday night where they have belly dancing. Staff is very friendly. The appetizers were great. Had multiple eggplant apps with pita bread. I recommend the one with smoky eggplant and tomatoes. For the main course we had kabobs. I enjoyed a lamb kabob while my girlfriend had a beef one. Overall a great experience. read more

This is my favorite Turkish place to go to. I usually go for the lamb chops, mixed grill kabob plate, and hummus. These are absolutely to die for and you will not be upset if you order it. The atmosphere is very fun but not too loud. The service is great and they do take walk ins. Try this spot out read more

Cazbar has great food and a nice atmosphere. Waitstaff is courteous and always ready to give suggestions. I love the imam bayildi. I'm not a big meat eater (mostly fish), and this place has great vegetarian and seafood options unlike many places in this area (I'm a Chi-town transplant!). I love going there, and the iLounge upstairs is very hip. Ambiance makes it a great date spot! read more

Get the Living Social. $15 for $30 or something like that. Park in a garage - you're going to need more than 2 hrs street parking. Make reservations on a Fri or Sat night for dinner at 7pm upstairs. Take 6-10 friends and sit in a corner table booth. It's going to be empty at first. In fact you're going to be the only table. But order the Turkish Wine (delicious sangria) or your favorite drink. Then get the Cazbar Sultans Platter for 4, $119. It was enough food for 5-6. Lights will dim and the belly dancing show starts at 9pm. By this time, all the tables are full and hopefully you are finishing up eating and onto more drinks or Turkish coffee. Belly dancer was the best I've seen- very talented and dazzling. The platter is served home-style. first course: mixed meze plate; second course: lamb, adana, beef, chicken, kofte, salmon, shrimp, served with rice and salad; third course: rice pudding. Favorites: meze plate, especially the smoked eggplant with yogurt. lamb, salmon, salad! Could pass on the chicken (dry) and rice pudding (nothing exciting) read more

This place is great. They serve great Mediterranean food. I came here my first time with a groupon but have returned many times. The food is moderately priced and delicious! It's also a very nice, intimate atmosphere in the restaurant. I would love to come back one weekend when they are having belly dancing as entertainment. read more

I'm going to speak about the food first: Everything food wise was amazing. The platter had everything. The coffee woke me all the way up And the variety of hummus is not only impressive, but delicious. So now to the story which is long so.... Long story short: There were three tables left towards the end of the night, the restaurant was wrapping up when a gentleman walked in with his phone already on record. He came for trouble. I thought the restaurant had done something to him... but he heads straight for one of the remaining tables and invites himself to a seat. He thrusts his phone in the couples face, and the woman in the couple starts screaming at the top of her lungs for the paparazzi to get away from her, that she knows who the fvck he is, and how he just needs to go. Her boyfriend unsuccessfully tries to lift the man from his seat but it was all for naught. Here's where it gets better: Cazbar staff gets involved, but instead of kicking all of the participating parties out, they assist the party crasher off of the premises and call the police. After the situation is under control, a waiter walks over to the couple, and when asked how much their bill was... the waiter told them that it was on the house... I couldn't believe my ears... and so I spoke up and said "if he doesn't pay for their dinner, I'm not paying for mine either" .... it gets a bit tense after that.... I just felt as though Cazbar had nothing to do with what their patron brings in from their personal life... so why do they have to offer a free meal after they disrupted every one else's night? But they need to get their customer service in order as it pertains to intense situations that become spectacle like that. Thank you all for being patient with my temper because I got extremely upset. But the manager handled the situation and me on top of all of that. Kudos to her. If it's okay, I'll be back. read more

First Course: Mixed Meze Plate Second Course: Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Kofte, Chicken adana, Salmon, & Shrimp served with rice & salad Third Course: Baklava. I order the Chicken Kabob and can I just say this is the best chicken I have ever had. The whole meal was great but the chicken was the best. There is valet parking which was nice and not bad pricing! It's also available if you aren't eating there which is nice also. Down side: the good is pricey but, very good! read more

I have been to Cazbar on two occasions. Both times, I thought the food was good but not the greatest Turkish cuisine I have had. They have a variety of different dips (hummus, baba ghanoush, saksuka, etc), but I thought it was a little underwhelming. I have gotten the Mixed Mezze Plate, which comes with 7 different dips - the plate is definitely big enough for two people to share. It's nice that they give you unlimited bread to eat with all of the hummus and other dips. I have also gotten the falafel which is not bad. The decor and atmosphere is quite nice though! read more

Months ago, my boyfriend and I were walking by Cazbar and they were playing Turkish music on speakers outside. We really liked the music so we decided to check it out (because good music means good right?) The food was really good! We split the mixed grill, which was plenty of food for two. There were four types of meat on top of a bed of salad and rice (separated). The beef and the chicken were my favorite, but everything was good. We also got the baklava cheesecake and it was delicious and not overly sweet. I also got semi-sweet Turkish coffee, but it was pretty sweet. However, their menu was on a tablet and it was a little hard to navigate because the categories were a bit unclear. I had a hard time figuring out what dishes were under which categories. read more

My girlfriend and I are new to the Baltimore area for work so we are bent on trying new places as often as possible. Having eaten Turkish many times in NYC and in throughout Turkey itself I can give this place 5 stars for quality. I found the Döner Sandwich to be very good and definitely a meal in itself. We split the combo plate which was also tasty both with the yogurt sauce and as a stand alone skewer of meat. My girlfriend ordered the entree size Manti; best believe I tried it! Similar in taste to gnocchi. Portions would satisfy and not over fill anyone. If your very hungry or eat a ridiculous amount this set up between two people would more than fill you. Of course a meal is never complete without dessert so we ordered the sampler which has a little of everything. I was satisfied with everything. Food was rich in flavor and clean in a sense it all feels very healthy. Prices are consistent with most Turkish restaurants. No complaints. Staff was pleasant and there when you needed them to be. Menus are on tablets which I like but my girlfriend does not. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Good date spot. Overall I would recommend this place. Belly Dancing takes place Friday and Saturday nights at 9:30pm. read more

Cazbar has delicious food, and it has a cozy and beautiful ambiance. I had the Doner Sandwich. The bread was soft and fresh. The meat was tender and seasoned well. The yogurt sauce that goes with the sandwich was tasty. It did not overpower my meal. The fries were seasoned nicely and crispy. A salad came with it, and it was okay. The kebabs are seasoned perfectly and tender. The rice was okay. Those were the only items I tried, and they were all pretty good. Even looking at surrounding tables, people seemed satisfied with their meals, too. I didn't get a chance to see any bellydancers, but maybe I'll catch them next time. Service was fine as well. I recommend trying Cazbar out. read more

Disclaimer: I came here with a groupon, so my bill was a lot cheaper than it should have been. This place i would actually give 3.5 and not a full 4. This was probably my first turkish food, and the food really was great! -Pacanga Borek (i think this was the name) - was really good. kinda like a stromboli with some meat and cheese inside. - lamb and beef kebab - they were both really well seasoned. lamb was great. beef was a little dry. - lamb moussaka - i really liked this one! good portion of lamb and the cheese really added to the flavor! so while the food was great, what was upsetting was the price. the main courses were around $20 each for most dishes dishes. for the combo kebab they only gave one kebab of each (i guess all the kebab dishes come with only 2)... WHAT? that's essentially paying $10 for each kebab if you assume that that the rice and small side veggies are free... The taste though is what made me choose a 4 over a 3 rating. service was little slow that day, but not that bad the interior is nice and clean, not too loud. would i go back? yeah, if i see that groupon again. read more

After settling in at the Baltimore Inner Harbor Marriott. It was pretty late and I didn't feel like heading out again. Luckily I was able to find this place that delivered. I order the Lamb Pirzola $27.00 ( included rice and a salad) and the Baklava for dessert. My order took less than 25 minutes to be delivered. The chops were still nice still hot upon delivery. The lamb chops were super tender and flavorful. These chops were probably some of the best I've eaten in some time. The baklava was a little to sweet but okay. The lady that took my order over the phone was nice and helpful. Four stars because of the lamb and great service. read more

Date night!!! Service was good, waitress recommended drinks, apps and meal options. Throughly enjoyed the entire experience. Sit upstairs to enjoy the belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. While on work travels I try and discover restaurants I can't have at home. I've had Turkish dishes and this place far exceeded my expectations. I ordered the chicken shish kababs and they were cooked to perfection! However, I would have liked a few more veggies on them. Yet, they were very tasty! My rice and salad were a great addition to my main entree. My humus appetizer did have a bit too much cumin for my taste, but still edible. After two or three tantalizing tastes of Cazbar through yelp events and food truck dining I made it in for dinner Monday evening. I like the decor, its modern Mediterranean and comfortable. Finding parking is a hassle though. I sat at the bar. I was a bit hesitant because there was some hookah action going on three stools away and while I like a pull on some hookah occasionally I don't want it in my face while dining. this wasn't a problem at all. In fact I didn't even smell it, the ventilation must have been really good. Sofia was my bartender/server. I asked for recommendations and she steered me into delicious seas. I started with the Mohamra Walnut dip, (5.99) chopped walnuts in a spicy red pepper paste with pomegranate puree. I didn't think I would like this as much as I did. In fact I loved it. I devoured the dip with the hearty bread and a glass of red Turkish wine, don't ask what it was I don't remember. For my entree I went with grilled Lamb fillets (21.99) Cullinary knock out punch, this was de-lish. Grilled fillet of baby lamb over pita in a light spicy red sauce seasoned with oregano and garlic served with rice and topped with a bit of yogurt. And it was huge. I couldn't finish it. Service was exceptional from the lovely Sofia who recommended a great meal. Turkey has won me over once again. Two thumbs up for Cazbar! read more

Went here on a Monday night to try some Turkish food. We ordered the sultan platter for two. This was a lot of food for two of us so we ended up packing up more than half of it. The first course was a platter of many kinds of dips (hummus, etc) and warm soft bread. This was wonderful! I loved the spicy dip as well. The main course was every kind of meat you can think of on top of rice and some salad. It was definitely a lot of food but I found some of the meat to be dry. However, we used the dips from course 1 and then it was okay. The dessert is baklava. It wasn't bad but it was more dense than I'm used to. I also got a Turkish coffee with another dessert (the kadayifi). This dessert was better than the baklava but no substitutions were allowed. Also, the Turkish coffee alone is $4 but if you order it with dessert its $6. I tried to do this but the server had to stop and think and seemed kind of annoyed that I wanted to do that. Overall the night was okay. I felt the service was lacking. The dishes piled before the server took them away and she disappeared at one point for a while. I also had to ask for three different take out boxes because she brought them one at a time and even though I had three boxes, I still had to ask for a plastic bag. I was disappointed at the end when I asked if they could call me a cab and they said they didn't know of any cabs. I'm not from Baltimore so at minimum I would expect an establishment that serves alcohol to know a number for a cab company... This could be four stars if their service was better but maybe I'll also have better luck if I order something different. Good bang for your buck but I struggle with dry meat. read more

This is perhaps the best Turkish restaurant in Baltimore, MD. (There is Rudy's in Columbia, also very good, but this is in the city). So here is the deal. Parking is LIMITED. It is street parking UNLESS you own a Tesla. (Call up the restaurant, speak to the owner and ask if you can charge up while enjoying some Doner. He will -well he let me- plug up for free). By the way, valet parking is available as I was informed by the owner of this great establishment. I just do not like others driving my car. Moving on, the food as far as what I had is great. The staff is very friendly and will explain the menu if you have any questions. I have only been there a few times and only had a few things there. Cazbar is a great find, even though it is not in proper DC region. I really like this place for its location on the main street Baltimore where parking is free after 6 p.m. weekdays and all of Sunday. But what makes it worth visiting is its strong suits of the well-seasoned grilled seafood and meats (not too salty like many grill establishments), the amazing appetizers of babaghanoush, hummus, and that to-die-for Ezme, the thoughtful sides and sauces that balance each plate well, and the pide stuffed-bread and moussaka that are worth trying. For $2 more, you can finish your meal with a glass of Turkish chai that was both slightly bitter and aromatic (reminding me of sitting by the Bosphorus sipping many cups of it), and the flaky nutty not-too-sweet Baklava that would give the diner a truly happy ending. To boot, the decor and service were both charming and extremely appealing, especially the congenial waiters we had on our visits. Read full review and photos at Wongeats website. read more

Wow! Go, just go and eat everything they bring you. I had Manti, the full-sized portion, and it blew me away. Tiny, firm dumplings filled with subtly savory beef and lamb are in a yogurt, sumac oil, and dried herb sauce. The combination, as the oil swirled with the yogurt and the dried herbs softened and released their flavor, was deeply satisfying. It came with a super fresh chopped salad of greens, tomatoes, and more herbs with a very light dressing. Just enough side salad to off-set the meat and yogurt. It also came with a basket of what I initially thought was, "Oh, look, pita. How boring." Silly me! Upon pulling back the warm cotton napkin, what should I find but slices of house-made bread, baked with a chewy, crisp crust to rival any San Francisco sourdough. I am a big bread eater and even I couldn't finish all of it. It needed no butter and was perfect with the Manti sauce. I had a traditional Turkish tea, as I'm not much of a coffee drinker, and do wish they had better sugar, but hey... millions of people love white sugar. The Baklava was exceptional in that it was less sweet and syrupy than the usual fare and the nuts were very finely ground, making it more of a paste filling. It needed not to be refrigerated, as the chill made it a bit hard to cut, but the firmness did nothing to take away from the flavor, which was delicious. For $20 I walked out of their a very satisfied customer, one who will go back many times and chat with the friendly, sophisticated Turkish staff. Cazbar is a win. read more
