I think we've finally recovered from the most Magical Bridal Shower this past Saturday. Just wanted to send you a note to let you know it was amazing!! First class all the way, including the staff. You are so very fortunate to have them on board. My niece Sammi said it was the shower of her dreams and we received many emails/text messages complimenting the event. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything and making happen for her. We truly appreciate everyone who played a part, Food, Bar, Service and Staff top notch!!

Wow! What more can I say about such an amazing experience with Woodberry Kitchen! We had our rehearsal dinner and a wedding 'welcome party' at this venue, and this was one of the best decisions we made!! I absolutely loved working with Jolanta, she was super clear, helpful and solution oriented in helping us figure out what would work best with our events (and trust me, I tend to be a bit complex with requests *smile* ). But throughout the planning process Jolanta make everything soooo seamless and most importantly EASY for us along the way - 10/10! Next, the food and drinks! Wow, again, TOP NOTCH! Both my husband and I are super picky when it comes to good food (and drinks) and Woodberry did not disappoint!! Everything was delicious...the dinner line up, the drinks and desserts all just were too good! Our guests raved about everything all evening, which was confirmation for everything we ourselves also experienced all evening. Lastly, the beautiful venue is just sheer perfection, the ambiance *chef kiss* ...with the lights, fireplace and rustic aesthetic was amazing. Woodberry also did our wedding cake - which was so beautiful and tasty!! This was another thing our guests raved about! I would have totally loved to have our wedding at Woodberry but our guest count exceeded the capacity significantly (all thanks to large families ;) ). THANK YOU again Jolanta and Woodberry kitchen team for making our wedding weekend experience one we'll never forget!

Jolanta and Sarah were an absolute pleasure to work with as we built the menu and we planned the event schedule.

They did quickly bring us another towel -the employees do not explain the amenities, except they do mention the breakfast start and end time -small offering at the breakfast (bagels, English muffins, bread, muffins, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, and tea) -large and difficult to navigate (particularly when trying to get to the fitness center) -no pool Other: -construction going on in certain areas -simple interior in the hotel and conference center (other than the octagon) Definitely would stay here again!

First, call ahead (there is no online system so you do actually have to call) to make sure they are giving tours and at what times (only certain days of the week, last tour usually starts at 1 PM). This mansion is another relic from the gilded age, however this one isn't completely stuck in the past and is a living, breathing arts venue. The last residents (she died in 1956 I think) had no children and left it to Johns Hopkins University with the specification it be used as an art museum. And there is a lot of interesting and attractive art, though it's mostly art by European white men. That's just what the owners collected . . . but our docent told us they are trying to diversify the collection by purchasing pieces by artists of color. The libraries are actually part of the Johns Hopkins collection and students can make appointments to come read them or use them for research. There are some nature books and some Audubon books that are so large that they require two people to move and turn the pages. There is also a reading room for students. It was previously their bedroom, which they didn't want displayed. There are some fun little quirky rich people things (if you dissociate from today's capitalistic hell). A 23K gold bathroom. The second wife who lived in the residence was obsessed with herself and had multiple paintings and busts of herself around the home. And her bathtub was surrounded by mirrors, including a mirror on the ceiling. A bowling alley that was turned into a display space for all their expensive artificacts. A lot of Tiffany glass. Antiquities. My admission was 10 dollars with a AAA discount. I think regular admission is 12 dollars.

I do recommend calling to confirm when a docent is available, but if one is, it is definitely worth…read morecoming. There is plenty of parking as it's a bit away from the main Johns Hopkins campus. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and explained a lot about each room and answered all of our questions. There are a lot of beautiful and unique objects, even though unfortunately photograph isn't allowed in the good rooms. The sheer amount of books they owned and how they present them is pretty inspiring. The Garrett's having their own performance/stage area is pretty unique, and you can even rent the space out if desired. At the end, there's a great display of their Asian art collection, and then suddenly you are back in the gift shop where you started, which has some good items. The tour was more than an hour, but it was really interesting, and all the employees were excited to answer questions, so you could see their passion. It's a great tour and worth doing if in Baltimore.

It can be completely hit or miss depending on who your bartender is. And last night I witness a truly disrespectful interaction between my friend who is a WOC and one of the bartenders. I understand having a limited drink menu, but each time my friend asked for a recommendation she was responded to as if she had just spit in that woman's face. The final straw was when my friend said, "I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with most of these drinks. What do you have that is sweet?" asking for a recommendation. The bartender looked at her and said "sugar" then rolled her eyes so hard I'm surprised they didn't get stuck in the back of her head. I understand being over your job, but my friend did nothing wrong. Was not rude, and in return got spoken to like a child. I don't know what the chip on this person's shoulder was, but if you absolutely HAVE to to be vile to everyone you speak to, try a back of the house position because you are actively damaging your bar's reputation.

There was a preset menu for cocktails, mocktails, wines, and beer. Some of the mocktails were sweeter than my liking, but it was fine. The staff were awesome. The bartender was solo up until it turned into a cash bar -- she was working really hard! The music was at a great volume, and food was being passed around regularly. It's really a great space for having a private party. And on top of that, while it can fill up quickly, there's free street parking outside. I do wish the bathroom was lockable -- the stall within there is, but otherwise things could get awkward. Pro tip -- it's behind the stage.
