From the moment we entered the historic property of the mansion, it simply felt like home! No fuss with finding a parking space, no other loud parties, anniversaries, weddings, bands etc., to compete with at Grey Rock Mansion. It was just us - our family and friends sharing a special, private moment with our Brock and Kori Carter! The lush outdoor garden wedding was extraordinary, and the tent was airy and absolutely stunning with chandeliers and strings of beads and lights streaming from the ceiling. Brock and Kori chose a Sunday brunch. The food was so delicious - sweet bites of pancakes and waffles, hickory bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, spicy shrimp, and grits, along with salmon, chicken, fresh vegetables, and the omelet station. The staff was very attentive, professional, and kind. I loved that their uniforms were so clean and formal. Often the staff at many of the hotels and restaurants have very worn white shirts and dingy sleeves. Not the Grey Rock mansion staff! It was like Sunday Best!!! It was really a charming afternoon of tea, coffee, and bottomless Champagne, Bellini cocktails, scrumptious deserts/food, and lots of dancing in the ballroom. The guests praised the bartender, Edrick for his strong drinks (blush). Raising a glass to unforgettable memories and many more wonderful private gatherings to come with Bill and the Grey Rock Mansion staff - Outstanding!!! Cheers!

There are inside and outside spots for the ceremony and food. We had the service outside in a tent and then cocktail hour outside on the patio. Inside was dinner and dancing and it was a free spot.

The ceremony was beautifully decorated with a chandelier at the top of the tent. It's a great option if you're looking to get married outside but concerned about weather. For the women and elderly at least, you do have to watch your steps when going outside since it's a bit of a cobblestone path in heels or those with poor balance. They do however have handicap access with a ramp. Happy for my cousin and wonderful service!

A NIGHTMARE for What Should've Been a Joyous Occassion…read more I hosted my 30th birthday brunch at The Belvedere, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food was served cold I, the guest of honor, received my meal last. The service staff was disorganized and unprofessional: drinks were served in glasses with visible mold, a guest was spilled on with syrup, place cards were ignored. (Which I had to MAKE MYSELF to add) After submitting a detailed formal complaint, their response was both disappointing and dismissive. They blamed the cold food and disorganized service on my late arrival -- which, while true, does not excuse the breakdown in execution. The original schedule was for starters to be served at 12:45 and entrées at 1:10. Due to my delay, starters were served at 1:20 -- only 35 minutes off -- yet entrées didn't arrive until 2:30, nearly an hour later. Even with the slight delay in the start, the kitchen had ample time to follow the adjusted timeline. Their excuse was that the food was ready at 12:45 -- but if that's the case, why was it not served until nearly two hours later, after we'd already finished starters by 1:45? Rather than take any accountability for the cold meals, lack of coordination, and overall poor service, they deflected blame and offered no refund, no accommodation, and no solutions. At first they offered to sit down with us & the team to discuss further. But once we added we wanted to bring statements from guest to eliminate the "he said, she said"at the advice of an attorney, they stopped communicating with us entirely. After we pleaded with them that we were not seeking council or legal action they still never responded. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right only deepened the disappointment. This was supposed to be a joyful milestone event, and instead it became a source of stress and embarrassment. I do not recommend The Belvedere for any event unless you want terrible service, communication, and professionalism. If you stayed this far the venue was beautiful. But at what cost? Not the amount of money, time & effort put into this day to just be silenced and not considered at all.

Very disappointed in my experience here. The two stars are the pluses. One is for the shower it…read morewas really nice and the other star is for the bed which was a very comfortable mattress. Unfortunately it is not positioned for you to easily get to. We were bumping & hitting our shins stepping in & out of the bed. You literally have to climb over to get there. There is also no closet space the few hangers on the wall is it. Very small fridge that is stocked full of their products. If you are wanting to store your own items there is not much space for it. If you have a disability or health concern, be aware that there are steep steps to get into the building. Someone notified that there was a lift in back, but unfortunately to get to the lift you have to walk through several steep steps in the back patio , which didn't make it any easier access. Upon arrival we were given a notice of when our room would be attended to & cleaned, we made sure to be out during the day & time given only to return & the room had not been cleaned. The final & last straw came when a woman came to our room & told us for everyone else's comfort they were going to turn the air on since as I understood it one cooling & heating for everyone you cannot control the temperature of your room. Because of her turning the air on my husband got very sick , shivering & extremely uncomfortable & very physically ill. It was obvious our health, care , comfort & safety was not a priority. We actually left before our reservation was done & found better , safer accommodations. Maximum expense at minimum comfort, was our expierence here. It seemed to want to be a spa more than a guest accommodation & unfortunately didn't do either very well. You cost us valuable time with our family & loved ones . I'm sorry because I can see that this took time & effort to create, just don't sacrifice guests health & safety . Good neighbor wasn't a good neighbor to us. If you value your health, comfort & safety consider making accommodations elsewhere.
