The staff was very attentive, professional, and kind. I loved that their uniforms were so clean and formal. Often the staff at many of the hotels and restaurants have very worn white shirts and dingy sleeves. Not the Grey Rock mansion staff! It was like Sunday Best!!! We were so fortunate to attend the wedding of my nephew at The Cloisters…read more As you drive up the long driveway, you feel transported to a different time and place. At the top of the hill, you are greeted by a medieval castle. The Cloisters sits on 60 secluded acres. You will be amazed by the beauty of this castle with its delicately carved wood, exquisitely detailed stained glass, and ornately designed wrought iron. It was the home of Sumner and Dudrea Parker. They designed the castle to highlight their extensive collection of medieval artwork and artifacts. It was built in 1929 and took 3 years to complete. It was truly a lovely setting for the wedding. The wedding was held outside in an enclosed courtyard. After the ceremony, we all went back into the castle where several rooms were set for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. They then took down all the chairs and reset the courtyard for a sit down dinner. Everything was just perfect. What a lovely way for the new bride and groom to start their new life journey together!

The place is huge but very compartmentalized so it was great for an event with ~70-80 people. Would not recommend as a place for kiddos as there are a lot of steep stairs and delicate features. The staff seemed nice but they are very strict about timing - if you paid for an hour, you must leave right at the end of that hour! Our friends who rented the space seemed happy with the service, though.

Some establishments have left, some have joined. The crowds stay heavy. Sadly lately, the crime has increased making it sometimes difficult to enjoy. Parking is gawd awful, but worth the hustle. I pray this area improves as Baltimore City deserves this.

Fell's Point is located along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor and just less than 10 miles from our hotel... we made our way here on MLK Day. Surprisingly, not all the businesses were closed on a holiday. We arrived around 10:30a and found parking. There are a few options for parking including metered parking and convenient lots and garages. We found an open spot on Thames Street. Fell's Point is beautiful as it was once a bustling shipbuilding port. We walked the snowy sidewalks and enjoyed the views of the wharf. Fell's Point is a historic waterfront and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. It has served as the home to jazz singer Billie Holiday and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. I loved the cobblestone streets with many waterfront restaurants and bars and the local cute boutiques shops. We had brunch at Barcocina and did some window shopping at the cozy shops. We also shared a pastry purchased from Pitango Bakery Cafe located right there at the waterfront. Review #3664

I figured the best way to help him was to get first hand experience of the tour, so I booked a Friday afternoon tour for my team. Can I just say what an awesome time we had? We are all fairly local folks but we learned so much and ate amazing food. I appreciate the level of service Zachary provided including helping to fit this in my budget. All communication was prompt and easy to understand. The payment process was simple. Instructions for where to meet and questions about food allergies or other issues were appreciated. Even in the rain, this was just so much fun. We started at the Maryland Center for History and Culture. As a museum junkie, I loved that we started with a quick tour through Baltimore history! And we got to pop into the Jim Henson exhibit. They have the Labyrinth Dress!! After that we started walking. Did you know the Ouija board was created in Baltimore?? I did not. We walked into the Enoch Pratt Library and poked our head into the Peabody. And we did a quick tour of the Washington Monument. I did not know you could go inside it for free. The food part was even better! Started at Tio Pepe's which was delicious and such a cool building. After more walking we stopped that Helmund for more food. Our final stop was at Topside for a cocktail and dessert. Zero complaints. I've been telling folks about this experience because it was so much fun. I look forward to doing the other tours.
