At the last minute we found out that some of our guest had special dietary requests. With no notice, Angela made it happen instantly. I would highly recommend this place for any special event. When planning this wedding and reception she had three beautiful sites that we could use we chose one with which had a place for the bride to get dressed overlooking the water it was just Beautiful. They provided a shuttle bus from the local hotels and from the restaurant to where the wedding was which made it extremely easy. The night of the rehearsal no one was there to assist or turn in the lights and it was a very dark and rainy night. Very dangerous for walking. The day of the wedding, it seemed that the staff only wanted us gone. They were cleaning up the rooms before the wedding was over. The lead coordinator of the day had our caterer in tears because they told her that I would be docked money due to her not cleaning the kitchen right. As it turned out we did get the entire security deposit back but if I had to do it over, and based on what I know now, I would not contract with them.

Stopped in to grab a bite after a friend called and asked me to take her to get her meds from the Walmart at Carroll Island. My friends car broke down and is having some family issues that she wanted to talk to me about. I am 71yrs of age and my friend is in her 50's so we were not going to be out long. we were told the kitchen was closing down it was a little after 7 at his point, I asked the woman working behind the bar if they still had shrimp salad and she said yes so we ordered our shrimp salad and a beer. my friend ordered us another beer and the woman said last call we said ok and I asked for the check so as soon as we finished we could leave. The woman said no she was busy and would come back when she was finished cleaning. Then a large man came up behind us and said we needed to leave because he wanted to go home. It is not always what you say but how you say it. Please look at the camera and you will see he came up behind us and had was touching my shoulder like we were buddies. Well we are not buddies and he was so rude that I will be there tomorrow to talk with the Commander, this gentleman very loudly told me his name was Phil and he is the ex-Commander. I told him my husbands name is Phil and he mocked me saying Phil over and over again. I proceeded to tell him well I know why you are the ex-Commander. When the woman behind the bar tried to tell him she has taken care of us he told her NO I AM TAKING CARE OF THIS. I have no idea who took away this man's clipboard but he needs to lower his voice stop touching people he does not know and maybe take a seminar on how to deal with the public. Now the real reason I am hot about this is my husband was wounded in Vietnam and received the purple heart, our son is also a wounded Vet. who served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne, he had surgery and stayed at Walter Reed. So if this is the way you at the VFW treat Vets. and their families we still have a long way to go. A simple hey ladies, it's almost closing time NOT the hrs are posted on the door. Seriously this man did not make your post look welcoming. To be truthful I stop in time to time when I go to Richardson's there are about 4 guys who are there most of the time, we talk, laugh and it feels good to buy someone a beer and laugh a bit. Not knowing this man he may have had one to many but that is no reason to get loud and berate your customers and extended Military family. Thank you for letting me vent. Still not over how my husband and so many other were treated after coming home.
