Walked around the grounds in March before most plants had come out. Liked the planted area called the Larry Franz Woodland Walk. At the back of this area, walk past the ribbon tied on a tree. Then go down a steep trail to circle back along the Ma and Pa Trail to the parking lot. Good to see the snowdrops, crocuses, hellebores, dead leaves, and fungi on tree trunks! Without leaves, you can see further through the forest. Slippery when dry! Some steeper trails are slippery as the dry leaves slide over rocks hidden under the leaves

The location is perfectly located for wedding at St. Marks Church is Fallston (~10 minute drive). The venue is a little pricey (~$3000 + insurance for an early slot on a Saturday in October). But it's worth it for the gorgeous setting. I also liked the back entrance where I was able to sneak upstairs and get my dress bustled before having to see all my guests. We came down the main staircase (which the florist was able to decorate) as we were introduced as a couple for the first time. We did not have dancing but did have yard games set up. We used one portico as a bar area and the outside terrace area for cornhole. We had a giant jenga set as well on the concrete terrace area. You do have to pick from a specific list of vendors when it comes to food. They have Dean and Brown on their list though which is one of the highest rated catering places in Harco. Overall, the wedding went off without a hitch and I am so glad that I held it at the Lirio!

This was my first time attending this event. We had VIP couple tickets. The VIP area was held in the Manor which l must say is a beautiful place. They had numerous area's set up where you could have wine tasting. They gave you a very large wine glass and tickets for the tasting. They also had all types of appetizers included in the VIP area which included mini hamburgers. Veggie trays,fried oysters, and many more goodies to eat. The majority of the wines were a little on the drier side than what l'm use to but it was durable. Now the Manor itself is a beautiful place with two separate restrooms. Unisex that is which was pleasantly clean which I admire. Also from what I gather you can have weddings at this location as well. So the 3 stars is not for the Manor or the setup of the VIP but the way they had it set up if you wanted to purchase bottles to take home. You actually couldn't do that which l thought was quite odd since that's what we would normally do. Other than that l really enjoyed the festival and l actually purchased two pair of cute earrings. . What a great venue for my grandson's 12th birthday party. The staff was terrific and seemed to…read morereally enjoy what they do - they even got into the Nerf battles! There is a party room at the back of the building, which takes up a whole street corner. The room is large; it contained four long tables and plenty of folding chairs. There's a large screen tv mounted in a little corner, with two armchairs and two little tables. The bathroom was small but sparkling clean, although we did have to ask for paper towel. It was lovely and cool on that hot day, but we did have to constantly remind everyone to close the door! Everyone was given a quick tour of the main space, and rules were gone over while parents signed waivers. They were given 5-10 minutes of free play, then gathered into teams for the Nerf battles. I have to say I enjoyed the music they played (Thriller and Livin' on a Prayer, to name just two songs) and the balcony from which I could watch and video the action on the floor. Those Nerf battles were WILD!! They had a dodgeball game after collecting up the guns, then it was time to head back to the party room for food. They keep a very tight schedule and walked into the party room 5 minutes before our time ended, to make sure we cleaned up our mess. I believe they allow 30 minutes between parties so they can disinfect, etc. Parking was ample although a little tough to spot as it's uphill, past the building. It's just an empty lot that's not paved, but hey! it's free! Oh, and I would be really remiss to leave out the thoughtful inclusion of a toddler play area. It has a pod swing (careful, it swallows kids), a tiny climbing rope, some toys & books, and a ball pit (would not let me kid in during covid, but that's me). It was perfect for one family's rambunctious 3 year old & their weary mom! They also enjoyed bouncing on the trampoline (one kid at a time) and playing with the huge connect four game. From the look of it, all the kids and at least two of the grownups had a fantastic time. It's a bit pricey but my DD and SIL said well worth it for having all that stuff taken care of without any work on our parts.
