It was an annual ceremony given for Veterans and their families, who have served and were not recognized and given thanks for all they contributed for freedom. Especially interesting was a POW soldier who was in an enemy prison for 6 years. There were many stories shared. All branches of the armed forces were there and they were key note speakers. Also some political representatives (local). They had a fantastic buffet meal for all.

The owner of the studio was very understanding and accommodating and quickly changed of booking to May of 2021. With COVID still around, the owner was very aware of the counties restrictions and kept me up to day with changes in capacity limits and the like. The week of the event, she had me email her the number of tables I required for my event. Additionally, she emailed me the morning of the event to let me know when she had the venue open and the tables and chairs set-up as I had requested. She also provided other instructions on what to do after my event. Myself and the rest of the wedding party walked into a clean slate on Saturday morning. The venue was spotless and ready to be transformed into what we envisioned. I love how she kept the colors in the room neutral and added an accent wall as a focal piece. It was the perfect backdrop for photos of the beautiful bride. There is plenty of parking outside of the venue. Additionally, since this venue is located within a shopping center, anything we forgot was easily purchased at the 7-11 or Dollar General within in the strip. If you are searching for the perfect venue for a bridal or baby shower or even a small reception, Studio 9854 has got you covered.

The Engineer's Club is located in the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Mount Vernon. It's the city's oldest private social club, but it hosts events and weddings in addition to serving its membership functions. It was an absolutely stunning venue for an opera. The staircase, the wood, the stage...! If you love architecture, you just have to see it for yourself (may in combination with that other gorgeous building just down the street - you know the one!). Definitely adding it to my list of Baltimore's most beautiful buildings. If you have a chance, don't hesitate to visit for a performance or event. I know I'll be back for another opera next season. They also offer tours, which I am adding to my must do in Baltimore list!

As a professional event decorator who has worked at many venues throughout the area, I can honestly…read moresay this was one of the most difficult venues I've worked with. Communication was extremely unprofessional from the start. The person handling arrangements represented herself as the owner, only for us to later learn she was actually the owner's mother. This created confusion and miscommunication regarding event details and access times. The biggest issue was that the agreed-upon setup and event schedule changed once we arrived. As vendors, we plan our timelines carefully, and changing access times at the last minute creates unnecessary stress for both decorators and clients. To make matters worse, the venue appeared to have booked another event too close to our client's event, resulting in pressure to clear out before the scheduled event time had ended. The venue was also not properly prepared for guests or vendors. Upon arrival, the floors were wet, delaying setup. Tables were dirty and required cleaning before use. The restrooms lacked basic necessities, including soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. As event professionals, we want our clients to have a smooth and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the condition of the venue and the lack of organization made that very difficult. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this venue to get all agreements in writing, confirm access times repeatedly, and thoroughly document the condition of the facility before and after their event. Based on my experience as a decorator, I would not recommend this venue.
