We left hungry! That has never happened at CAVA before. Our grain and green bowls were puny and pathetic. We had to ask for extra rice and greens and even then, it didn't come close to a regular serving. On the bowl with steak, a portion cup was used to measure and it was not filled because they ran out of steak. When questioned the young man preparing the bowl just shrugged and moved down the line. We added avocado to both bowls- we were given black avocado. We had to ask for it to be removed and replaced. The young lady working behind the counter was helpful and friendly. She is the only reason we're giving 2 stars. We were very disappointed in this location. read more

CAVA - Lemon Chicken Bowl - Mediterranean Near Me - Richardson, Texas

I have been wanting to try cava since I first heard about it 4 months ago, but we don't live close to one and it was never convenient. We finally ordered it to take home for dinner, I wanted to give them more stars, but the food was inedible and when I called to tell them (and hopefully save some other customers from the same problem), the customer service was lacking. Not that the girl on the phone was rude, she just didn't seem to really care. I ordered 4 bowls- 3 of the date chicken bowls and 1 of the chicken and right rice bowl. I asked for all of the dressings in the side (particularly because I was saving one bowl for my lunch tomorrow and didn't want it to get soggy). Here were the issues: Stale/hard brown rice: The first bite I took into my bowl, I noticed it was crunch and had hard bits in it I couldn't seem to chew. Upon further investigation, this was the rice- crunchy and honestly hurt my teeth to chew. I tried to eat around it, but the rice was mixed throughout the bowl and ended up picking out the chicken and tossing the rest. The other people I got the bowls for also had the crunchy rice that didn't even break apart when chewed. Food not prepared correctly: The right rice and chicken bowl I ordered for my lunch and asked for the dressing on the side- the dressing was all over it. I don't have anything else for lunch, so I'm going to take it. But I'm afraid it will be soggy and I'll end up tossing that one too. Customer service: I called the restaurant after we got our food home, and she said I could back and get a free bowl (even though we had 4 bowls made incorrectly). Her explanation was that sometimes the rice on the bottom just gets hard, and I asked why they didn't just throw it out instead of serving hard rice to their guests, but didn't really get an answer. It frustrated me that she seemed aware that it was a problem; but just didn't care enough to fix it. While I was ordering, I noticed them refill the rice. Rather than taking out the old stuff- they just put the new stuff on top of the old, hard rice. I wish I would have realized that the old rice was going into my bowl, but I had my 4 year old with me and was distracted. On the plus side- my four year old ordered the kids meal with right right rice that was not stale and perfectly edible. He was the only one that enjoyed his meal. I wanted so badly to like this place. It's a bummer that the rice made the food inedible (and we tried- but rice that can not be chewed is something I couldn't get past) and that the bowl I ordered for the next day will be soggy. This place had the potential to become a go-to easy meal and with the fresh ingredients and flavors, it would have been worth the drive if it was good. I might give them another shot; but that experience did not leave me wanting to. read more

I understand they had a water leak on the specific day I came. I got there at 9:20 pm not knowing they were online order only, but before I could submit my order at 9:40 pm - it was too late. I pulled in through the drive through and they stated the last online order had to be submitted before 9:20 pm. Little had I known as they did not have any notation of this situation anywhere and went home with no food for two people. Cava Richardson; I'd recommend not setting an advanced 40 minute order cutoff before your closing time at 10 pm or to please notate this. read more

Wife and I learned about CAVA two weeks ago. The first time we went, they were patient in explaining to us how the ordering process works and we loved everything we ordered. The second time also went well. Friendly staff, good/healthy/delicious food, reasonably priced, feels great afterwards, etc. We enjoyed our meals so much that by the time we went back the third time within two weeks, we decided to download their app so we can continue to return and earn points. I would have given this place a 5-star if the third visit didn't happen... Sadly, our third visit - this past Sunday, lunch - really killed our experience. Unlike the first two times on weekday nights, the woman behind the counter who started our order must have had a bad day and was taking it out on everyone she was serving. No hello, no smile; tone was rough and just plain rude. When my wife asked if it would be okay to have a little more rice, her response was, "It will cost you extra." (Oddly, nobody mention that before the last two times). By the time we got to the end of the line and were paying, we obviously noticed how much smaller her final bowl looks compare to what we had the first two times. This time the bowl was only half-filled, while the first two times were full. Even one of the meatballs was only a half-piece. Guess they are not consistent with how they grab the salad or scope their rice? Understandable, I guess. But bad service and attitude? Sorry, minus two-stars. We probably will give CAVA another chance; definitely going to avoid going on Sunday thou. Hopefully we won't run into that same woman again. read more

Such a good price for the amount of food you get! It's very vegan friendly as they offer a falafel or veggie protein option and their sauces and labeled for whether or not they contain dairy. Toppings are unlimited and the garlic sauce is amazing. read more

Yesterday I went to Cava for the first time along with a friend it was amazing. Not only was the food amazing but the customer service was as too if not better. Ricky served us and his customer service was great! He was patient with us and let us try the things we were interested in. He answered any questions we had and served with a great positive attitude along with a smile. You don't find customer service as good as Ricky gave us anymore. I was so disappointed with the service I had received from this location! I am a huge CAVA fan and have had multiple good experiences but unfortunately when I had ordered from this location it took me about 30 minutes to get my food. I had ordered online and went to go pick it up via drive through and it took such a long time. After I received my food, they also forgot to give me one part of my order so I had to go through the drive through again. The food itself was amazing as always, but the service made it a disappointing experience overall. read more

I also asked for the dressings on the side but my bowl came doused & on top of it the pita was pretty similar to cardboard which bummed me out. Customer service is absolutely horrible in this location. Everyone I have encountered on multiple occasions is simply rude and have an "annoyed to be here" facial expression, but nothing beats the tall African American guy who is at the beginning of the service line starting your order. Not a "hi" or "what can I get you?", rather he simply looks at you with an attitude and says nothing. I took initiative in starting my order, we get to the dips, and I get another one of those annoyed looks accompanied by silence. I request the dips/sauces and he proceeds to slap them in the bowl. Mind you, this is my first time ever trying CAVA. I decided to give this place multiple tries before writing a review, but goodness, not once did I at least have an "ok" experience! I liked it so much I made my mom try it too from my bowl!! my favorite sauce ever is perhaps tzatziki sauce so I told them to load up my grains bowl with that! i got the saffron rice with chicken tzatziki, spicy hummus, and regular humus, with the cucumber lemon yogurt on top. it was so delicious and since it's so close to campus and very healthy, i would love to go again :) read more

My son told us about this place after eating at one of there other locations. The food is pretty good. They have a build your own option as well as chef-cut rated bowls and pitas. We opted for the build your own and we're really happy with the outcome. I love that they have harissa chicken! The only downside was the staff. 3 of the 4 employees serving, looked like they hated their job. They were NOT friendly at all. Even after we told them this was our first time at Cava, they offered no assistance or suggestions. Only one employee had a smile and was friendly. That said, for the food, give them a try. Perhaps they will weed out the unfriendly employees. If they do we will give them 5 stars. read more
