The delicate mix of flavors you can achieve in a CAVA bowl is not something I've been able to replicate elsewhere; there is so much potential for deliciousness here. You can order 3 scoops of cream/sauce, so I ordered hummus, crazy feta, and red pepper sauce/cream (?). I ordered chicken and roasted vegetables as my proteins. However, apparently you can only order one protein, but the server still plopped on a tad of roasted vegetables. I absolutely loved the chicken--it was surprisingly flavorful and moist. The roasted vegetables were great, too. I loved the red pepper cream. Next time I come here I'm just going to order all 3 scoops of that in my bowl. The salad and complimentary pita bread were fine. I wasn't crazy about the crazy feta. My mom also loved the rice she ordered on top of her salad. CAVA exceeded my expectations. read more

I decide to stop here for lunch and I must say I was happy that I did. The atmosphere has a Chipotle vibe and the colors are neutral and pop in certain areas of the restaurant. I've passed by this place before and never stayed because the line can be ridiculous. As I approached the line the I was greeted by one of the servers on the line, you pick your base and then move on. I tried the Pita with chicken and added all the other condiments that caught my eye. GREAT new addition to Kendall. I've already have CAVA 3 times in the past 2 weeks - suffice to say that I'm hooked! I particularly love their vegetarian protein options - you can't go wrong with either the falafel or the harvest vegetable mix. As an added bonus, you can do half and half for the protein to try both. Additionally, their sauces and dips are to DIE FOR (no exaggeration) - some of my favorites so far are the Eggplant + Red Pepper Dip, Crazy Feta, Lemon Herb Tahini, and Sriracha Greek Yogurt, but I'm looking forward to trying them all. So glad CAVA came to Cambridge (their first location here!) in addition to their Back Bay and Fenway locations. It's right off Main St in Kendall Square, so super convenient for students/people who work in the area. This CAVA is just as good as the others - with build-your-own bowls, seasonal ingredients/specials, drinks, and more. They cater to a wide variety of diets since they have so many options, including Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. I got a bowl with their greens mix and arugula, roasted veggies (seasonal), braised lamb (SO good - I get this every time), roasted red pepper hummus, hot harissa, tomatoes/cucumbers, olives, red pepper slaw, pickled onions, lemon tahini dressing, and date vinaigrette (seasonal). I also got a side of the tomato harissa soup and the blood orange ginger drink (I mixed that 1/2 and 1/2 with unsweetened jasmine iced tea to cut the sweetness). They definitely don't skimp on the portions here - you can also get a greens bowl or a pita. Their soup is great - I'm going to try and recreate the recipe (yum). I wish they had wifi in their locations, but otherwise, it's a great place to grab and go or sit and chill. read more

The food is pretty consistent across locations though I don't think the Kendall Square location was as good as other locations I've been too. This place is amazing! Great spot for lunch during a workday. Went around 12:15 on a Tuesday and the line was really long, but it seemed to dissipate around 12:30 / 12:45. Would recommend going earlier or later if you want to avoid the line. There is ample seating as well; most customers seem to get their food to go. I ordered the greens and gains bowl with brown rice, falafel, arugula, roasted red pepper hummus, crazy feta spread, lemon herb tahini dressing, and all the additional toppings. Such an awesome mix of flavors, and I especially loved the combination of the dressing and the two spreads I got! Would definitely recommend getting pita chips as one of your toppings, as it adds a nice crunch. All the ingredients were very fresh, and you could see the individual chickpeas in the falafel. The bowl came with warm pita bread on the side as well. With all of the components I got, the bowl was extremely filling, and the best part - it was only about $10! There's not a whole lot to say other than that the bowls are huge and can keep you full for hours! The lamb meatballs were pretty worth the extra price & I'm a huge fan of falafel which I think the way they make it isn't bad with all the wonderful sauces and dips you can add. I haven't been disappointed. If you order online, you can build the bowl with a calorie tracker so it's a really great option if you're on a diet! read more

The food actually doesn't suck. It's just really visible that they don't know what they're doing. Walked in there on a weekend afternoon. They have a full staff on, and everyone is standing there gawking at you. One guy who's trying to fill 2 orders at once already asks me for my order, and then walks away abruptly as soon as I start talking. A couple minutes later someone else comes over and sees me standing there with a bowl of rice on the counter and picks up my order like nothing happened. I get about halfway through it and then that guy abruptly goes to check on something (what, I don't know) and never comes back. There are 2 or 3 people behind the counter and they're all completely preoccupied with prodding at a couple pieces of pita bread in the oven like poking it makes them cook faster or something. A few minutes after that someone else comes by and starts putting more stuff in my bowl, again like nothing happened. Get my food and go to take a seat. There are no forks anywhere, and the trash is overflowing. I look back to the counter and everyone is still completely transfixed with the couple pieces of pita bread they have in the oven that they're all taking turns shuffling around. read more
